Capsule Corporation Headquarters.
Today was the day Trunks would return to the future.
Goku and the others had all come to see him off.
Emily held Trunks's hand tightly, reluctant to let go. "Trunks, our time together really was too short..."
"Take care, Mom," Trunks said, nodding.
Then he turned and looked off in another direction, spotting his father, Vegeta, standing beneath a large tree.
Trunks smiled at him.
Vegeta raised two fingers in encouragement.
"Trunks, don't forget to keep training after you get back to the future," Goku said, patting him on the shoulder.
"Yes!" Trunks replied.
"Do your best," Goku said with a smile.
In the next moment, Trunks stepped into the time machine and pressed the start button.
The machine slowly rose into the blue sky, then began spinning rapidly in midair.
Whoosh!
In an instant, both Trunks and the time machine vanished.
Soon after, Trunks arrived on Earth in Universe 6's future timeline.
But the moment he stepped out of the time machine and saw the scenery around him, he went speechless.
Right... this is Universe 6.
So how am I supposed to get back to Universe 7?
A headache hit him immediately.
Then he suddenly remembered the communicator Goku had given him.
Trunks quickly took it out and used it to contact Universe 6's Supreme Kai.
Whoosh!
In the next instant, Supreme Kai Fuwa used Kai Kai and appeared beside him.
"Trunks? It's you?" Fuwa said, recognizing him at once. "Did you send Goku back to his proper era?"
"Yes, Supreme Kai," Trunks said with a nod.
"And now you want to return to Earth in Universe 7?" Fuwa asked.
"I'm sorry to trouble you, Supreme Kai," Trunks replied politely.
"It's no trouble," Fuwa said. He did not mind in the slightest.
"Oh, right, Supreme Kai," Trunks added after a moment's thought. "Goku told me that between Universe 6 and Universe 7, there are seven giant Super Dragon Balls the size of planets. If someone gathers all seven, they can make any wish."
Fuwa nodded slowly. "Yes, I have heard of the Super Dragon Balls."
"Goku said that if we could gather them, the Goku of our era could be brought back to life," Trunks said.
Fuwa rested his chin on one hand and thought it over. "As for whether we should revive the Goku of that era... I'll think about it."
After that, Fuwa sent Trunks back to Earth in Universe 7.
Trunks reunited with Gohan and the others from that timeline and began a new life there.
But peace did not last for long.
Several years later, a terrifying man would descend upon Trunks's era...

Universe 7, Supreme Kai World.
After returning, Supreme Kai rested properly for two days. Then, as if nothing had happened, he found himself with too much time on his hands.
"Supreme Kai, ever since Majin Buu self-destructed, the universe has finally returned to peace," Kibito said, deeply relieved.
"Yes, yes, that truly is something to be thankful for," Supreme Kai said with a smile. "Now that Majin Buu is gone, I suddenly feel... idle. I don't even know what to do with myself anymore."
"Should we go fishing in the lake over there?" Kibito asked, pointing toward the distant water.
"That sounds good. It's been a long time since I last fished. It's supposed to be good for the spirit," Supreme Kai said, nodding in agreement.
Just as they were talking, a streak of light flashed across the sky above the Supreme Kai World and plunged rapidly toward the ground.
Smack!
Buu crashed down from the air.
Boom!
The entire Supreme Kai World trembled violently.
The moment Shin saw him, his face turned deathly pale.
Kibito's eyes widened in total shock.
"Hehehe... found you," Buu said, baring his teeth in an evil grin.
Shin started trembling from head to toe.
Kibito clenched his fists so tightly his whole body shook.
"Now then... what's the best way to deal with you?" Buu asked, scratching his round head as he smiled at Supreme Kai.
"Supreme Kai, didn't you say Majin Buu blew himself up? Why is he still alive?" Kibito asked in a deep voice.
Supreme Kai shook his head blankly, his voice growing heavier. "I have no idea what's going on either! But this is bad. We need to get out of here now!"
"This is the Supreme Kai World. How did he even find this place?" Kibito shouted, unable to believe it.
"Now is not the time to worry about that. Run!" Supreme Kai snapped.
He grabbed Kibito at once, made the decision on the spot, and immediately tried to flee with Kai Kai.
"Kai Kai!"
"Kai Kai my ass!" Buu yelled, kicking Supreme Kai straight in the face.
A shoeprint appeared across Supreme Kai's cheek.
He toppled backward and hit the ground hard.
Kibito was dragged down with him.
But the next second, Kibito sprang back to his feet and shouted, "Supreme Kai, go! I'll hold him off!"
Then, without hesitation, he threw himself straight at Buu.
Thud!
Buu casually punched him in the face.
Kibito's vision blacked out at once, and he collapsed to the ground unconscious.
"Kibito!" Supreme Kai cried out in shock.
But in a moment like this, there was no time to dwell on it.
The most important thing now was getting away. As for Kibito... he would have to find a way to save him later.
"Kai Kai!"
Gritting his teeth, Supreme Kai tried once more to teleport away.
"I said, Kai Kai my ass!" Buu barked.
His arm suddenly stretched like rubber, and he punched Supreme Kai hard in the chest.
"Urgh!"
Supreme Kai coughed up a mouthful of blood and went skidding backward, tracing an arc through the air before crashing to the ground again.
By the time he landed, he felt like his entire body had fallen apart.
Buu grinned, his teeth shining white. Then he leaped high and came straight down toward Supreme Kai.
Supreme Kai's eyes shrank to pinpoints, his face twisting in horror.
All he could see now were Buu's two butt cheeks descending toward him.
If that lands on me...
That'll kill me.
"Hah!"
Supreme Kai glared sharply, and an invisible wave of divine power wrapped around Buu's body.
For a split second, Buu's descent stalled in midair.
Buu blinked, then copied Supreme Kai and glared back with force.
"Aaagh!"
Supreme Kai was blasted away, carving a long trench across the ground of the Supreme Kai World.
Buu flipped once in the air and brought his butt crashing down hard onto Supreme Kai's back.
"Pwah!"
Supreme Kai spat out a mix of blood and stomach acid, overwhelmed by absolute despair.
"Hyah!"
Buu smacked him sharply on the backside and barked out a single word.
"Aaaah!"
Supreme Kai screamed so hard it sounded like his soul was tearing apart. It felt like that slap had nearly knocked his rear end off.
"Move! I said move already!" Buu shouted coldly.
How was he supposed to move at all? He had already been beaten half to death.
"You running or not? If not, I'll turn you into chocolate and eat you," Buu threatened.
"I... even if you kill me, I will never submit to this humiliation!" Supreme Kai shouted through clenched teeth.
"Then I'll beat you to death!"
Buu showed no mercy. He flipped Supreme Kai over and sat down hard on his stomach instead.
"Urgh!"
Supreme Kai felt like his intestines were about to come out. He had never felt anything so awful in his life.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Buu started pounding his face with one punch after another.
Three minutes later, Supreme Kai's face had become too horrible to look at.
He was barely breathing now, hanging on by a thread.
"Uh... Ken told me not to kill him," Buu muttered, scratching his head. "If he dies, that'll be a pain to explain."
So Buu quickly used healing magic and dragged Supreme Kai back from death's door.
Supreme Kai opened his eyes and felt nothing but despair.
"If you don't want to die, then behave. Zeno-sama wants to ride you like a horse, so hurry up and kneel," Buu said, squinting at him.
"Even if you kill me, I will never submit to your humiliation!" Supreme Kai shouted through gritted teeth.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Buu beat him bloody all over again.
After more than an hour had passed, Buu gave him a rough healing treatment.
"So? Have you thought it over yet?" Buu asked with a grin.
"I already told you. No matter what happens, I will not submit to this humiliation!" Supreme Kai shouted angrily.
The moment he finished saying that, he suddenly lunged at Buu and tried to self-destruct.
Buu saw through it instantly. With a casual wave of one hand, he sent an invisible force over Supreme Kai's body.
The divine power Supreme Kai had barely managed to gather was dispersed immediately.
A deeper despair swallowed him whole.
I can't even self-destruct?
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Buu beat him again until his cries filled the air.
Then Buu kicked him away.
Supreme Kai crashed right into Kibito's body.
Kibito groaned and slowly woke up.
"Supreme Kai!" he cried in shock.
"You two had better think this through," Buu said with a snort. "Get on your knees and be good little horses, or I'll torture you to death."
Kibito flew into a rage.
How dare you humiliate us like this?
About eight hours later, Supreme Kai and Kibito were kneeling obediently on the ground, bodies pressed low.
"I still like you better when you fight back," Buu said with a huge grin, clapping happily.
"Supreme Kai, if we bend now, we can still seek revenge later," Kibito whispered under his breath. "If we die here, this universe really will be finished."
Supreme Kai knelt there crying like a child.

Time passed day by day.
One year later.
Universe 6, Earth.
Bardock's yard.
Boom!
An enormous burst of energy suddenly exploded from Bardock's body, and his powerful aura spread out in all directions.
"Amazing! That divine power is incredible!" Goku said in shock from nearby.
Bardock gave a faint nod.
Even now, though, he was still in his base form. He had not transformed yet.
"So what level can Dad reach now?" Goku asked.
"If I transform, I should be able to reach level 51," Bardock said after thinking it over.
"Level 51? Dad, that's incredible!" Goku said with an excited grin.
"What about you, Kakarot? What level are you at now?" Bardock asked.
"I honestly have no idea anymore," Goku said with a laugh. "But whatever it is, I'm definitely still not your match, Dad."
Bardock fell silent.
Where exactly did Kakarot get this carefree personality from?
Actually... he really was a lot like Gine.
"Kakarot, dinner's ready," Gine called from the kitchen, waving to Goku.
"Coming, coming," Goku replied happily as he ran toward the kitchen.
Bardock followed him inside.
The three of them sat down to eat together.
"I still like Gine Mom's cooking best. It's so good," Goku said between mouthfuls, full of praise.
"Then come by more often," Gine said. She had grown very fond of this son too.
"Okay, no problem," Goku replied at once.
"Next time, bring Gohan and Kale with you," Gine said softly. Then she asked, "How are those two doing? They're getting along well, aren't they?"
"Uh... you should call me Goku, not Kakarot," Goku said, scratching his head. "Chi-Chi made them both go to school, so they've been studying lately. Honestly, I really want to train Gohan properly, but Chi-Chi won't allow it."
"Wasn't Ken planning to raise Gohan into a new God of Destruction?" Bardock said with a sigh, frowning slightly. "So why are Gohan and Kale both in school?"
"By the way... where is Ken?" Goku asked, changing the subject. "I haven't seen him in a long time."
"The last time he came back, he said he wanted to find a quiet place and train in seclusion for a few years," Bardock said. "He wants to break through to level 80 as soon as possible."
"Level 80... that's amazing," Goku said with a laugh. "I wonder when I'll ever reach that level."
Bardock went silent again.
That was level 80.
A lot of angels could not even reach that point, never mind Gods of Destruction.
"Broly seems to be traveling too. I haven't seen him for a whole year either," Goku said, shoveling in another bite of rice.
"The Great God of Destruction wanted to improve his level as well, so he went traveling with Ai," Bardock replied.
"Eat more, Kakarot... Goku," Gine said, scooping him another bowl of rice.
Goku studied her curiously.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Gine asked with a smile.
"Mom, you've put on quite a bit of weight lately," Goku said with a grin. "Especially around your stomach."
Gine: "..."
Bardock: "..."
