Chapter 209: The End of W Gundam
In the end, Wufei retrieved the Twin Buster Rifle from the Wing Zero Gundam and returned it to Heero.
Heero and Treize each piloted their own Gundams and fired the Twin Buster Rifles at full power toward Libra's remaining wreckage.
Two enormous beams of destructive energy roared forth together, obliterating the debris into cosmic dust.
At long last, the world that had been locked in endless conflict finally achieved a brief and fragile peace.
The space colonies and Earth truly became one unified nation. Treize, who had survived his supposed death, was nominated as the first prime minister—and soon found himself buried under a mountain of government affairs.
Lady Une, Dorothy, and Relena naturally became his secretaries, assisting him in handling the endless administrative workload.
Watching Treize's exhausted, overworked state, Tolle sighed and said, "Treize, plans never keep up with change. Looks like you're not going anywhere. My plan's been delayed."
Treize frowned in mild frustration and replied, "Yeah, I didn't expect it to turn out this way. Honestly, the mobile suit given to me by our leader was far too powerful—I didn't even get to enjoy the fight before it was all over. I'm as helpless as you are."
Lady Une looked at Tolle anxiously and asked, "Leader, is it almost time? How much longer do we have? Could we wait until Lord Treize finishes his work before you go?"
Dorothy and Relena exchanged puzzled looks, clearly lost.
"Leader?" Dorothy's eyes suddenly sparkled with curiosity. Glancing at Tolle, she turned to Treize and asked mischievously, "Uncle Treize, do you and Colonel Darks Shaw have some kind of secret between you two?"
Treize looked at Tolle and simply spread his hands, saying nothing.
Tolle sighed and did the same, then released his disguise, revealing his true form.
Relena and Dorothy were both stunned.
But Relena quickly recognized him, her eyes widening in disbelief. "You're Tolle! The fiancé of Ange!"
She soon regained her composure and continued, "Right—how are Coco and Miranda these days? It's been so long since I've seen them."
"They're doing great. I'll let them come out and get some fresh air," Tolle said with a smile. His consciousness shifted into the warship's core space, where he told Ange and the others that he would soon be leaving for another world and invited them to come out to say goodbye.
A minute later, Tolle's awareness returned. He deliberately opened a dimensional portal, allowing Relena and Dorothy to see the scenery within the ship's core space.
"This is my private world," he explained. "Only they live there—they're my family." Ange, Zola, and the other four women stepped out through the portal and exchanged greetings with Dorothy.
Tolle rubbed his nose, a little wistful. "Originally, I planned for Treize and Lady Une to join my home and travel with me to other parallel worlds—to see Earths both similar and different. But it looks like that plan's fallen through."
Treize leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes in resignation. "Yes… time caught up with us. What a pity."
"It's fine," Tolle said lightly. "I'll share my memories of the worlds I've visited so far."
Coco and Miranda clapped their hands in excitement. "We want to see! We've been with Master for so long, but we still don't know much about his past!"
Tolle nodded and asked Nami, the group's resident video editor, to compile his memories of his travels across worlds. After editing out the private parts, she turned them into a movie-like presentation.
Tolle set up a projector and began screening the footage on the wall for everyone.
One world after another appeared before them. When The World of Angels and Dragons began playing, Coco and Miranda excitedly started introducing it to Relena and the others.
Tolle watched the two chatterboxes helplessly and finally brought out food and snacks for everyone to enjoy while watching.
The screening lasted from morning until night. When it ended, Treize still looked a little disappointed. Tolle noticed and asked,
"Disappointed? No matter the world, humans are always the same—foolish beings who never stop fighting.
Every world with Gundams also has war."
Treize nodded in agreement. "Yes. Honestly, it's disappointing. It's nothing like what I imagined."
"I know," Tolle said quietly. "That's why I won't force you or Lady Une to come with me. Your world needs you now, and the hard-won peace needs your protection.
Take the Tallgeese II, the Wing Zero, and the dimensional wristbands as my farewell gifts.
And since you both have lifespans of two or three thousand years, maybe we'll meet again someday. There'll still be time to travel together then."
Just as Treize was about to respond, Dorothy suddenly shrieked, "Huh!? Two or three thousand years of lifespan? Are you serious? If it's true, I want it too! Don't leave me out!"
She immediately latched onto Tolle's arm, twisting coyly as she said, "Oh, great Leader, can't you give one to me and Relena too? If Uncle Treize and Lady Une live that long, they'll be lonely without us! Let us keep them company!"
Feeling Dorothy's "world-embracing enthusiasm," Tolle reluctantly agreed. "Alright, alright—you and Relena can join them."
He instructed Nami to use the neo DG cells to perform the longevity modification for Dorothy and Relena.
When it was done, Dorothy happily rewarded Tolle with a kiss, while Relena stood beside them in stunned confusion—clearly thinking, If I'm going to live this long… what about Heero? But that, of course, was beyond anyone's control.
In the days before his departure, Tolle secretly did one last favor for Treize and Lady Une: he infiltrated the Romafeller Foundation's warmonger faction, implanting neo DG cells into Duke Dermail's followers.
Of course, each of them later died mysteriously in front of the public, as if they had been struck by fate itself—just like scenes from Final Destination.
Among them was the old man Dekim Barton, who in Endless Waltz had used Treize's daughter, Mariemaia Barton, as a puppet to form his own army.
Tolle didn't kill him immediately. If the events of Endless Waltz unfolded without him, Dekim would naturally "meet his fate" through another Final Destination-style incident. If Tolle happened to be there when it happened, he'd simply act as though nothing unusual had occurred—maybe even make a brief reappearance himself.
Afterward, Tolle gathered a vast amount of resources near the remains of Libra, completing the construction of the Seraphim and filling its entire internal space.
