Chapter 220: Bael Gundam
Nami proceeded to copy the Ahab Reactor, Nano Armor Coating, and Alaya-Vijnana System from the Gundam Gusion.
Through her analysis, she also discovered the precise functions of the Alaya-Vijnana System.
Alaya-Vijnana System: When activated, it consumes 1 point of stamina and 1 point of mental energy per second. It grants an additional +30 to Shooting, Melee, Skill, and Reaction, and increases Hit and Evasion rates by 20%.
Afterward, she used the communications system aboard the Spark Assault-Class Battleship to check on the situation. Kudelia Aina Bernstein had not yet begun her Mars Independence Declaration campaign.
That meant the story hadn't started yet—though it was hard to tell exactly when it would.
All he could do was have someone keep a close eye on Kudelia's activities, and go to her when she finally began her independence movement.
However, Tolle suddenly had a thought as he stared at the Alaya-Vijnana System. "Nami, since I now have a nanotech body, can't I connect directly to the Alaya-Vijnana System without undergoing surgery?"
"Yes, Master. When you wear your Nano Armor, you can simulate a connection port. You can link to the Alaya-Vijnana System perfectly, without any side effects."
"Hmm, not bad. If I use the Alaya-Vijnana System together with Concentration, I should be able to maintain it for at least ten minutes or so. That should be far better than using the Zero System alone—at least it won't drive me insane."
"Yes, Master. But you must still pay attention to your stamina consumption. If your stamina runs out, you could suffer exhaustion symptoms."
"Yeah, I'll be careful. But honestly, the Gusion Gundam really doesn't suit me—it's far too bulky.
Oh, right, Nami—how's the analysis of the Nano Armor Coating coming along? Can we use it independently for our own mobile suit?"
"I'm sorry, Master, but the Nano Armor Coating only works in conjunction with an Ahab Reactor or an engine capable of generating gravity. It can't function on its own.
Also, a single Gundam Gusion's data isn't enough. We can't guarantee that two Ahab Reactors installed on a replicated machine will operate properly."
"That's not too big a problem. The Gundam Barbatos should be easy to obtain and copy. I'm just not sure whether data from two suits will be enough.
Still, taking it might mess up the storyline.
As for other Gundams, I only know the locations of Barbatos, Kimaris, and Bael.
The problem is, the latter two are both in Gjallarhorn—not easy to copy."
At that moment, Nami reminded him, "Master, with data from three Gundams, there will definitely be no issue. In fact, obtaining one Gundam from Gjallarhorn isn't that difficult—the Bael Gundam.
It's stored deep within the hangar of Gjallarhorn's Vingolf Base. Why don't we sneak in and take it?
We can leave behind a hollow decoy identical in appearance—no one would ever notice."
Tolle thought this was an excellent plan. As for McGillis Fareed—he could go eat dirt. Tolle had never liked that scheming bastard anyway.
When McGillis eventually came to claim the Bael Gundam, only to find an empty, immobile shell—just imagining his reaction made Tolle grin.
After making a few preparations, Tolle piloted his VF-1SS Valkyrie Fighter alone, activated the Mirage System, and flew toward Earth.
On a dark and windy night, he infiltrated the depths of Gjallarhorn's Vingolf Base hangar in secret.
First, he had Nami hack into the surveillance system inside, then quietly stored away the Bael Gundam. In its place, he left a hollow replica before soaring away unseen.
After leaving Earth's atmosphere, Tolle said to Nami, "Nami, modify the Bael Gundam's exterior Nano Armor design for me.
Based on my memory, make it resemble a Heavyarms-style Gundam—both arms equipped with Gatling guns. Can you do that?"
Nami's holographic avatar patted her chest in Tolle's mind, her motion causing an impressive ripple. "Master, leave it to me! I guarantee success."
In the end, the Bael Gundam was transformed beyond recognition. Anyone who saw it would never realize it had once been the Bael.
That way, Tolle could use it freely—otherwise, bringing it out as-is would be suicidal. Everyone in this world knew what the Bael looked like. If word got out, he'd be instantly targeted by every mobile suit on the battlefield.
The new form resembled the Gundam Barbatos and was renamed the Heavy Firepower-Type Bael Gundam.
Then Tolle flew to Mars, to the Chryse Independent Sector, at the base of the private security company CGS.
There, he easily located the Gundam Barbatos, which was still operational—its Ahab Reactor was being used to power the CGS base from a storage warehouse.
With Nami's assistance, he successfully copied all of Barbatos's data. With comparative data from three Gundams, Nami could now independently create a Gundam equipped with Ahab Reactors.
After the copying was complete, Tolle searched for Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka. The two were already around the same age as in the anime.
He implanted neo DG Cells in both of them before leaving the CGS base.
With Nami's help, he then amassed a large sum of money and decided to enjoy a bit of leisure time on Mars, within the Chryse Independent Sector.
Tolle also brought Lynn Minmay, Ange, and the others out of the warship's core space to join him on Mars.
Stretching out his arms, Tolle introduced the scene to them. "Everyone, we're now on Mars."
Pointing to the reddish-brown soil and the nearby farmland, he continued, "At first glance, it probably doesn't seem all that special—just looks like ordinary farmland, right?"
He then began explaining to Lynn Minmay, Ange, and the other six women the world information he'd gathered over the past half month, along with Mars's general composition.
He also explained that, like the Gundam Wing world, this one was similarly ruled through violence. Perhaps, before long, his Sword of Damocles would have to take action again.
