Azrael slowly walked towards the man, her expression remained unfazed yet her heart painfully crumbled at the sight of the man's suffering.
"Lucas"
Azrael called out to him. Her voice cracked as she spat out the name that triggered a cruel memory.
Azrael once had something akin to a family but a family created amidst chaos was bound to fall apart. Seeing the man's state, she couldn't help but worry about the others.
"It's time to wake up."
Azrael lifted her hands to her mouth. Her eyes shut as she tore a flesh off her index finger. Her blood trickled down her arms as it gleams lustrously in the darkness.
She reached for the man, grabbing him from the darkness that enveloped him.
Awoken from a deep slumber, Lucas' eyes shot open. His body jerked and bones cracked as his palm struck Azrael.
Azrael let out a grunt as her body slammed against the damp wall. She coughed out blood, drooling as she vomit and choke on her own saliva. Fleur's body was petite and fragile, making it difficult to withstand such a powerful blow.
Her eyes met the gaze of the man. His eyes were clouded and devoid of any emotions.
"Lucas."
The man winced as he clutched his head from the immense pain he's feeling but quickly recovered his composure. He swung his arm again, attempting to strike Azrael once more.
Sensing his next move, Azrael tried to dodge his punch but her weak body causes her to flail and fall down. Lucas' punch hit the ground just in front of Azrael, leaving a crevice on the ground.
Azrael saw a chance to strike and quickly supported herself with her leg and kicked the man on his jaw. Azrael tumbled as she lifted her body off the ground.
She panted heavily while holding her chest, her heart pounding greatly from exhaustion. For a brief moment, something flickered on her eyes. She pressed her eyes close, blinking continuously.
Before she could process her next move, Lucas launched at her, his footwork becoming more sluggish and clumsy. He threw punches consecutively and surprisingly, Azrael managed to dodge them, though his punches occasionally grazed her.
As she was caught off guard, the man knocked her down. Lucas grabbed her neck, gripping it tightly. His eyes were unfocused and dazed, it was as if he was still unconscious.
Azrael grabbed his hands on her neck, trying to free herself. Her nails scratched his skin, leaving his hands wounded, but he did not flinch at all. She tried to kick him and flailed her hands around, hoping to grab something to no avail.
Just as her vision was turning white, her eyes caught a glimpse of something. At first, it was just a flicker. Then, it eventually turned more lustrous. Lucas was emitting an aura, an unfamiliar aura. His spiritual energy were growing weaker and fainter, subdued by an immense energy.
Lucas is getting controlled. If this continues, his soul might really die.
Azrael gathered all her remaining strength. Trembling, her hand reached the man's face as she desperately gasped for air. Her index finger touched his lips, smearing blood in his mouth.
Unable to breathe, her hand falls to the ground. However her eyes remained open, staring straight at Lucas' eyes, hoping to see a glint of life in his gaze.
Just as she was loosing hope, she felt the man falter. His grip loosened a bit before quickly regaining the strength exerted in his grip on Azrael's neck. He winced and shook his head.
He was fighting.
Lucas' grip loosened once again and Azrael did not waste any time to use this chance to free herself from his grip. She kicked him on the stomach and grabbed his hand to flip him over.
Azrael now sits on his stomach, gasping for air and coughing continuously. She was still recovering but she didn't spare any time and quickly went to action. She bit her finger, creating an even bigger wound this time.
"Wake up!" She muttered with a growl and urgency as she smeared the blood on his mouth once more.
Argh!
Lucas let out a loud grunt, throwing Azrael off him as he squirmed around. His veins started to bulge and turn violet. He screamed as if he was being tormented until his eyes turned red. Her head shot up as his face contorted into a grimace, eventually silencing his screams and calming down.
"Now stop acting like a fool and do as I say."
Azrael stood behind him, her hand grabbing his head as her eyes gleam of an even deeper crimson than Lucas'. Her hand slowly drifted away, pointing on another direction where the void was the only thing visible.
Her head tilted as if she was getting impatient. Her eyes weren't glaring, it was rather calm yet it exuded an ominous aura. Slowly, Lucas held his arms up while his head remained down.
Azrael closed her hands abruptly. A gust of wind surged forward along with the strange man from earlier. His face still deformed and frame slightly shorter now.
Azrael remained in the same position. Her hand is tightly shut as if gripping something in the air.
On the other hand, Lucas who was in the same position as Azrael while kneeling held a man on his neck, his hand tightly shut as Azrael's.
Kekek-
The man with a distorted face mocked them once more with his menacing laugh but before he could finish laughing, a fist landed on his face. Azrael had swung her arms, though not hitting the target. Instead, he let Lucas mirror her action as if a marionette on a string.
They have made a pact through blood and now he had to listen.
"Kill him," Azrael's words reverberated through the void.
The strange man struggled against Lucas' grip to no avail. He tried to regain his control on Lucas' mind only to fail. He kept on failing and soon, fear had struck him.
"S-stop! I will kill you!" The man kept shouting and shouting only to be met by a punch every time.
Azrael decided she had have enough and had end it at once. Her hands gripped tightly, Lucas mirrored her actions until he could barely breathe. With a shriek, the strange man's hand fell on his side. His eyes wide open and his tongue sticking out as he heaved his last breath.
