"Before we begin the ritual, there is something I must ask you. Why? Why make me your successor?" Uryū asked, confused.
"You ask that? The reason I chose you as my successor... you should be able to figure it out if you think for a moment." Seeing Uryū's continued confusion, Yhwach pointed at him and said, "Still don't understand? Then let me ask you, Uryū, why are you still alive? You know you are the only Quincy in history to have survived the Auswählen. There is a reason for your survival."
