Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Bibi Dong's Delusion—Xiaogang, Let Us Reconcile

Chapter 62: Bibi Dong's Delusion—Xiaogang, Let Us Reconcile

Bibi Dong narrowed her eyes slightly, a sharp glint flashing deep within them.

She slowly rose to her feet and paced within the Pope's Palace, silently contemplating Yu Xiaogang's words.

The three soul bones awarded to the champions of the Soul Master Tournament were something she had personally prepared for Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan. There was no possibility—none whatsoever—that she would allow them to fall into the hands of outsiders.

After a moment, Bibi Dong halted her steps and spoke coldly:

"Yu Xiaogang, what you said isn't without reason. I, too, have considered the possibility that a Body Martial Soul might possess some unique qualities."

Seeing that Bibi Dong acknowledged his viewpoint, Yu Xiaogang secretly breathed a small sigh of relief before continuing:

"Your Holiness, if Wuming truly harbors ill intent, then with the strength he has displayed, it would be unfair to the other students. Based on the information we currently possess, he has only taken action once—and even then, he didn't reveal his soul rings. He may very well possess additional special abilities related to his martial soul. I suspect he's hiding secrets far beyond what we know. Other than Poison Douluo, there may even be an even stronger force behind him."

Bibi Dong nodded faintly, her gaze resolute:

"No matter what power stands behind him—anyone who dares covet Spirit Hall's soul bones has only one outcome: death. You need not concern yourself with this. I've already ordered an investigation. We should have results soon."

"Yes."

Yu Xiaogang responded respectfully.

Bibi Dong shot him a cold glance.

"Yu Xiaogang, is there anything else?"

"I have some information… regarding Gui Mei and Yue Guan."

"Oh?"

The moment those names were mentioned, the cold indifference on Bibi Dong's face shifted.

Her slightly raised brows revealed a keen interest in any news about Gui Mei and Yue Guan.

She returned to her throne, sitting tall and imposing. Her gaze fixed tightly on Yu Xiaogang, her voice still icy:

"Tell me everything you know."

"Two years ago, Gui Mei and Yue Guan destroyed the Balak Kingdom's Shrek Academy. The Xiao Wu they killed was a student of our academy. At the time, none of us knew she was a hundred-thousand-year soul beast in human form."

"So, that rabbit was one of your students as well. What a pity. A hundred-thousand-year soul beast right under your noses, yet all of you remained blissfully unaware. Such an unimaginably valuable treasure… and in the end, it was taken advantage of by outsiders."

A cold, mocking smile lifted the corner of Bibi Dong's lips, as though she was laughing at Shrek's misfortune.

Yu Xiaogang's expression darkened slightly—he hadn't expected Bibi Dong to be so cold-blooded.

He naturally understood the immense temptation that a hundred-thousand-year soul ring and soul bone held for human soul masters.

But he also knew how deep Tang San and Xiao Wu's bond ran.

Tang San's mother was also a soul beast who had taken human form.

Even if he knew Xiao Wu's true identity, Tang San would never harm her for her soul ring or soul bone.

Yu Xiaogang wanted to retort.

But the words reached the tip of his tongue… and were forced back down.

"Yu Xiaogang, you don't expect to tell me only that, do you?"

"Of course not. You already know that Gui Mei and Yue Guan took Xiao Wu's soul bone. But there is something you don't know. After the hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor died, she transformed into a single seed. That seed sprouted into a Blue Silver Grass with golden patterns. Gui Mei ate that Blue Silver Grass raw."

Upon hearing this, Bibi Dong frowned.

"The hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor? You mean Tang Hao's wife?"

"That's right. Clear Sky Douluo originally hid the seed in an extremely concealed location, yet those two still managed to find it."

A greedy glint surfaced on Bibi Dong's face.

She immediately connected the dots—Gui Mei's ninth soul ring had become a hundred-thousand-year ring, and it was likely tied to him consuming the Blue Silver Emperor's seed.

If she devoured Gui Mei herself, she would obtain not only Gui Mei's power… but also the remnants of the Blue Silver Emperor hidden within him.

"So those two actually found the hiding place of the Blue Silver Emperor's seed. Tang Hao must be furious—frantically searching the world for them, isn't he?"

"They are unpredictable and constantly on the move. Not so easy to find."

Yu Xiaogang didn't want to tell Bibi Dong that Tang Hao was badly injured—and had been repeatedly beaten down by Gui Mei and Yue Guan.

Tang Hao was his idol.

He absolutely could not damage Tang Hao's image—especially not in front of Bibi Dong.

"Yu Xiaogang, the information you've provided is somewhat useful. Anything else?"

"There is one more thing I wish to ask. I'm curious… how did you resolve the cultivation conflict between your twin martial souls back then?"

Bibi Dong's lips curved upward in a mocking smile.

"Yu Xiaogang, you don't actually need to know that, do you? Across the entire Douluo Continent, besides me, is there even a second person with twin martial souls?"

"Your Holiness, to tell you the truth… I do know of another twin martial soul holder. But I cannot reveal his identity."

"What?!"

Bibi Dong's expression shifted in an instant, surprise flashing across her face.

She never expected that, aside from herself, there would actually be another person blessed with twin martial souls.

That would mean she was no longer the one and only.

Twin martial souls were the absolute pinnacle of talent.

Once the conflict between the two souls was resolved, one could bear more soul rings than ordinary soul masters, possess greater total soul power, and naturally surpass others in strength.

Her first instinct: find this person.

If he could not be used by her… then he must die.

Such a prodigy must never be allowed to grow into a threat.

"Yu Xiaogang, this person isn't a student from Shrek Academy, is he?"

As she spoke, something seemed to click in her mind. Her brows furrowed.

"That person… is your disciple, Tang San?!"

A Dark Blue Silver Grass martial soul… a Soul King at fourteen… such talent practically screamed the possibility.

"Your Holiness, your guess is correct. He is indeed my disciple, Tang San."

Yu Xiaogang did not deny it.

Tang San had yet to reveal his Clear Sky Hammer, and with mysterious forces protecting him, Yu Xiaogang wasn't worried about his safety.

A cold, mocking smile crept onto Bibi Dong's lips.

"Yu Xiaogang, I can tell you how to resolve the conflict between twin martial souls—but there are two conditions."

"Please speak."

"First, Tang San must swear loyalty to me. Second, you will leave Liu Erlong and assist me in Spirit Hall—as an honorary elder."

"What?!"

Yu Xiaogang jerked his head up, his face filled with disbelief.

Tang San held deep, irreconcilable hatred toward Spirit Hall. Swearing loyalty to Bibi Dong? Impossible.

As for himself… he had finally reconciled with Liu Erlong after so many years. To abandon Liu Erlong and return to Bibi Dong's side was even more impossible.

But at this moment, he couldn't reject her outright.

He realized—Bibi Dong still had feelings for him.

Otherwise, how could someone whose soul power had yet to even break rank 30 be qualified to become an elder of Spirit Hall?

"Your Holiness, your proposal is too sudden. We need time to consider it. Could we give you an answer after the tournament concludes?"

"Fine. I'll give you time. But my patience is limited—don't make me wait too long."

"I understand."

Bibi Dong knew that Yu Xiaogang had reunited with Liu Erlong, and seeing him acting like a groveling dog before her, she couldn't bring herself to hurt him.

She simply wanted to give him one last chance—one last opportunity to return to her.

She fantasized that one day… she and Yu Xiaogang could be together again.
