Chapter 46 - 46

The tension in Griffin's apartment was almost unbearable.

Vinny sat on the edge of the couch, his hands fidgeting in his lap. Griffin stood nearby, arms crossed, pacing slowly, a predator in his own space. His dark eyes followed Vinny's every movement, every twitch of his fingers, every blink.

"You're thinking about him again," Griffin said quietly, not accusing, but stating what he already knew.

Vinny swallowed, trying to steady his voice. "West… he's been following me. Watching me. I don't understand why or what he wants."

Griffin's jaw tightened. His gaze darkened, and a low hum of tension filled the room. "I know. I saw him. I felt him. He's trying to manipulate, to control, to claim what's not his. But he's overstepping."

Vinny's stomach twisted. "What do we do? He's clever. He's been planning for years."

Griffin took a deliberate step closer. "Then we fight smarter. Faster. Darker if we have to. Obsession has its advantages, Vinny. I've waited, watched, and I know every pattern, every moment, every weakness. West thinks he can play this game? He doesn't know me."

Vinny's pulse quickened. There was a dangerous edge in Griffin's voice, one that thrilled and terrified him simultaneously. Obsession. Protection. Possession. He could feel all of it radiating from Griffin, and he knew he wasn't the one in control anymore.

Griffin leaned down, his hand brushing Vinny's jaw. "Do you understand? I will protect you. No one touches you. Not West. Not anyone. And if anyone tries… I will make them regret it."

Vinny shivered, both fearful and strangely comforted. "I trust you," he whispered, though part of him still felt trapped in the dark intensity surrounding him.

Across town, Shane and Finn worked tirelessly.

Shane's fingers traced lines across the university maps pinned to the wall. "We know Griffin's patterns. We know West's movements. But we don't know how far they'll go. If Griffin senses Vinny pulling away, his obsession could turn violent."

Finn nodded, chewing on her pen. "And West? He's patient, calculated. He'll exploit every hesitation, every fear."

Shane's eyes narrowed. "Exactly. We need to anticipate. We need to stay ahead. Vinny's life depends on it."

Evelyn leaned over, her voice quiet but firm. "We've got to keep Vinny calm. Make him believe he's safe while we gather everything. Griffin may not act if he feels Vinny is under observation."

Liz's gaze was steady. "And every interaction with West needs to be documented. We can't miss a single move. We have to prepare for the confrontation before it happens."

Back in Griffin's apartment, Vinny followed him into the kitchen.

Griffin moved with precision, preparing a simple meal, every action deliberate. The scent of herbs and spices filled the room.

Vinny watched him, torn between comfort and fear. Griffin's dark obsession was protective but suffocating. Yet, there was no denying the safety he felt in Griffin's presence.

Griffin glanced at him, eyes glinting. "Tomorrow, we start gathering evidence of West's interference. But tonight… we focus on you. You rest. You eat. You are mine to protect, Vinny. Do you understand?"

Vinny nodded, the words heavy in his throat. He realized the depth of Griffin's obsession, its darkness, and its devotion.

Outside, the city pulsed with unseen movements. Shadows shifted. Phones buzzed. Eyes watched.

The war for Vinny's life and freedom was quietly intensifying.

And neither Griffin nor West would back down.

Because obsession, control, and love—dark and twisted—had claimed him.

And there was no escape.
