Chapter 127 - Chapter 127 The Book Collections of the Two Guilds

Although Blue Pegasus' library was not as large as Fairy Tail's, it still contained an impressive number of books. Row after row of towering shelves were filled to the brim.

"This is where our guild keeps its library. You're free to read and copy all the books here," President Bob explained, gesturing at the shelves.

Noah's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Really? I can read all of them? And even record them into the ancient texts?"

"Of course you can. The books that are off-limits are stored elsewhere. Noah-chan really does love reading, doesn't he?"

"Of course. Reading is my favorite. Through books, I can learn more and understand more! Then I'll get started right away!"

"Haha, just don't rush yourself. Take your time and enjoy it."

Noah nodded, and President Bob slowly left the library.

When the guild members saw their president escorting a stranger inside and heard what he said to Noah, their curiosity was piqued.

One after another, they came over to greet him. In this way, Noah gradually became acquainted with many members of Blue Pegasus.

Only after everyone's enthusiasm quieted down did Noah finally have the time to immerse himself in the guild's collection.

From then on, the members of Blue Pegasus often saw someone who seemed to treat their guild like his own home. He would arrive the moment the guild opened in the morning and remain until it closed at night.

Every day, after greeting the president, Noah would rush into the library and bury himself in books for the entire day.

Aside from meals and short breaks, he never left the library. He was even more diligent than the Blue Pegasus members themselves.

When Noah read, several books would always be lined up in front of him. The moment he finished one, the book would automatically float back to its shelf, while a fresh volume he hadn't read yet would glide down to take its place.

President Bob often worried about Noah's extreme pace, so he would slip quietly into the library to check on him.

But whenever he looked, Noah's eyes were bright and focused behind his enchanted reading glasses, while the ancient document magic beside him unfolded steadily, recording data without pause. Nothing seemed amiss.

What reassured Bob even more was that, whether morning, mealtime, or evening, Noah was always full of energy.

It didn't look like there was any problem at all.

To be certain, Bob even contacted Makarov. The Fairy Tail master confirmed that Noah had been the same when studying in their library.

According to Makarov, aside from his daily training, Noah spent every other moment in the library, never leaving except to eat or rest briefly.

After finishing one book, he would immediately begin the next, racing against time as if trying to consume all knowledge.

Makarov admitted he had been startled at first and kept an eye on Noah. But rather than deteriorating, Noah's mind grew sharper and his body stronger under this relentless routine.

With nothing unusual developing, Makarov stopped worrying.

After hearing this, Bob realized Noah's current condition was identical to what Makarov had described.

Everything seemed stable, so Bob no longer fretted, though he still made a habit of checking on Noah each day, just in case.

With the help of his specially improved reading glasses, which boosted his reading speed, Noah spent more than three months recording every available book in Blue Pegasus' library into the ancient texts.

During that time, he returned briefly to Fairy Tail to celebrate the New Year with his comrades, welcoming in the arrival of X779.

Once the celebrations ended, Noah returned to Blue Pegasus and continued his work, eager to finish the rest of their collection.

When Noah went to say goodbye to President Bob, Bob's face was full of barely contained astonishment.

He knew exactly how many books his guild owned. Yet in just about three months, Noah had already read and recorded every single one of the volumes Bob had allowed him access to.

"Oh, Noah-chan, you really surprised me. I knew you'd been reading like mad these past months, but I never thought you'd finish so quickly."

"I could only manage it thanks to my modified enchanted glasses. They increase my reading speed, and I mostly skimmed the less important books.

For now, I've entered everything into the ancient record library. Later, I'll go back through them carefully."

"So then, are you heading back to Fairy Tail now?"

"No, not yet. I still want to visit Lamia Scale. I already contacted Master Goldmine, and he said I can come to study their library as well."

President Bob looked at Noah's eager, sparkling eyes. He knew the boy was itching to dive into another sea of books, so he didn't hold him back.

"Then go, but remember to visit us often."

"I will. Thank you, President Bob!"

After saying his goodbyes to Bob, Noah also bid farewell to Hibiki and the other Blue Pegasus members who had returned to the guild, then headed straight for Lamia Scale's base.

First, he presented Master Goldmine with the gift he had prepared. Then, under Goldmine's guidance, he entered the guild's library.

Though Lamia Scale's collection was a little smaller than that of Blue Pegasus, it was still quite vast.

With Goldmine's permission, Noah spent nearly two months recording every book the master allowed into the ancient archives.

When he finally took his leave, Noah returned to Fairy Tail.

After greeting his comrades, he went directly to Makarov.

"Well then," Makarov asked, "what did you gain this time?"

"I gained a lot. Between Blue Pegasus and Lamia Scale, I absorbed more knowledge than I could have hoped.

In particular, studying the applications of ancient record magic was incredibly helpful for my research. At the very least, it lets me run complex calculations and organize experimental data.

There are even more potential applications waiting to be developed. I really owe much of this to President Bob."

"As long as you've gained something, that's what matters. What are your plans now?"

"I'm going to conduct research here at home. With all the books and records I've collected, I need time to sort through everything. Unless something urgent comes up, I don't plan on leaving for a while."

"That sounds fine."

"By the way, Grandpa, I met with Yajima at the Council. He gave me a lot of help."

"Oh? You saw old Yajima? How's he doing?"

"Grandpa Yajima's in good health, and his spirits are high.

I had a mountain of applications, and it was thanks to him that they passed quickly. Without his support, it would have taken ages."

"Then make sure you thank Yajima properly."

"Of course. My medicinal wine is almost finished. I plan to send some to Grandpa Yajima, as well as to President Bob and Master Goldmine."
