All this time, Tony Stark had instinctively believed that the person who snapped their fingers and saved half of all life in the universe was him—Big Tony!
Who would have thought… it wasn't him at all!
So, does that mean the Avengers actually snapped their fingers at least twice?
Hulk once, and Big Tony once?
Big Tony had died immediately under the snap, while Hulk only lost an arm—and even that healed after some time.
The difference was staggering.
But if that's the case, why didn't they let Hulk snap the Infinity Gauntlet during the final battle? Why did it have to be him?
Tony had previously thought his death was heroic, majestic—but now, looking back, he felt it was utterly unfair and frustrating.
According to all the information he had, he shouldn't have had to die at all!
Furthermore, if Hulk had already snapped and saved the lives wiped out by Thanos, why did he have to snap a second time?
What was the real purpose?
It seemed that the war between the Avengers and Thanos in the future was far more complex and massive than he had imagined.
[Honestly, it's a waste of Stark's life. He died unnecessarily—it could have been avoided.]
[Why did he have to snap the fingers himself after taking the stones from Thanos? There were clearly other options.]
[Thanos might be strong, but without the stones, he wasn't a match for Captain Marvel. Why not let her handle it?]
[Scarlet Witch could have done it too. She almost took Thanos down, forcing him to deploy his fleet.]
[Snapping wasn't necessary at all.]
[Even if snapping was necessary, why does it have to be him? Captain Marvel was there, and Hulk still had an arm.]
[Feels like Stark was completely misled by Doctor Strange's single finger.]
But then again, it's not really Doctor Strange's fault.
He just raised a finger—he never explicitly told Big Tony to snap.
Pointing to the sky could have meant "fly up," since Thanos can't fly.
Ah, what the…
Speechless.
Totally speechless.
And extremely frustrated.
This was Tony's immediate, visceral reaction to the latest spoiler.
It really wasn't just overthinking.
Even the diary's owner, Zhou Cheng, thought that the future—or rather, an alternate universe version of himself—died in an extremely unfair way.
After reading the latest spoiler, this feeling was even stronger.
So, in the end, was he really killed because Doctor Strange pointed a single finger?
Doctor Strange raised a finger, and Big Tony foolishly went ahead and snapped?
What the hell?
Was the alternate version of himself out of his mind? Or was he just mentally exhausted from the continuous battles?
Raising a finger—how does that have anything to do with snapping?
Why would Doctor Strange raising a finger lead the alternate him to interpret it as "snap the fingers"?
Was something else happening that he didn't know about?
Otherwise, it made no sense why the alternate version of himself was so ridiculously foolish.
Also, if he saw Doctor Strange raise a finger, they must have been close—so why the cryptic gesture?
Doctor Strange, why not just tell Big Tony directly? Why the finger?
Is raising a finger more convenient and efficient than speaking directly?
Moreover, why was the final battle version of himself so concerned with others' opinions?
Why did he care so much about Doctor Strange's advice?
He should have been able to make his own decisions after getting the stones. Big Tony always did.
The alternate version really didn't match his personality.
Tony didn't even know what to say.
Of course, complaining and feeling frustrated aside, he still gained some very important information from this short spoiler.
Besides venting about his unfair death, the diary also listed alternative options instead of snapping.
For example, letting Captain Marvel handle Thanos, or letting Scarlet Witch handle him.
Judging by the tone, the purpose of him snapping was… to deal with Thanos?
Just… that?
Totally not worth it.
Tony increasingly felt that his death was not only unnecessary but also meaningless.
After briefly venting, he put aside those messy thoughts and refocused on the diary.
Looking forward to the next wave of spoilers.
But, as usual, the diary updated abruptly and ended again.
Tony just shook his head, closed the diary, and instinctively took a sip of his coffee—only to find it cold.
The playboy poured it out casually.
He returned to the hall, gathering with the rest of the Avengers.
From the outside, everything appeared normal, as if nothing had happened.
"The Tesseract was stolen by Natasha. What are we still doing here?"
"Shouldn't we go get it back? Sitting here won't make it return on its own!"
The Red Guard's voice spoke first.
The Avengers were in a heated discussion.
"I understand your feelings, Erik, but the commander has already assigned personnel to investigate."
"We really can't do anything until we find Natasha or Loki."
Hawkeye Barton looked helpless.
"That's right!"
Tony interjected, "But that doesn't apply to me. I'll remember our failure this time—it was an unforgettable experience."
Having said that, he waved to everyone and left without looking back.
Since Nick Fury had already recruited Satan as a strong ally, and considering the possibility of Loki spies everywhere, staying at the base was pointless.
Of course, Tony didn't put all his hope in Satan.
After returning to his luxury villa, he instructed J.A.R.V.I.S. to continue monitoring Loki and Black Widow.
Though he wasn't overly optimistic.
Previously, Loki had evaded S.H.I.E.L.D. and J.A.R.V.I.S. without leaving a trace—likely through supernatural means.
After all, he was a god.
Meanwhile, Nick Fury's current state was similar to Tony's.
Returning to the Triskelion office, the first thing he did was make several important calls.
Why?
To prepare the advance payment for Zhou Cheng.
Ten billion in commission, even the advance was astronomical.
Even for Fury, this required careful handling.
"Sir, any orders?"
After handling the advance payment, Fury summoned his most loyal subordinate, Phil Coulson.
"Where is Dr. Banner right now?"
Coulson replied immediately, "A small, nameless village in India. Poor, with limited access to medical care. Banner has been providing voluntary medical aid there for some time."
Monitoring Banner was one of Coulson's tasks.
Fury didn't hesitate: "Bring him back."
"For the Tesseract, sir?"
"Banner is a gamma-ray expert, even Stark can't match him in this field. He can help us track the Tesseract."
Fury nodded, confirming the plan.
Though Fury had recruited Satan, he never trusted anyone completely—not even Satan.
So he prepared backup plans. If Zhou Cheng failed, Fury would handle the Tesseract himself.
Banner would play a key role.
"Understood, sir!"
Coulson responded and rushed out.
Fury continued other arrangements, then rubbed his temples, taking a brief breath.
He pulled out the diary, flipping to the last page, feeling a surge of energy as it updated.
He began seriously reading the latest spoilers.
However, there was little he could do about most of them.
Whether it was the future Avengers, the "Thian" gods, or the Eternals—these weren't easily actionable.
The only thing Fury could act on concretely was to keep a close watch on Hank Pym.
As for Pym Particles? Honestly, Fury was tempted. He never expected the technology could affect a god.
But taking it from Hank Pym would be no easy task.
Previously, even S.H.I.E.L.D. leadership had tried and failed.
Pym had even defected from S.H.I.E.L.D.
Now he was older, but Fury still didn't underestimate him.
Of course, Fury had no intention of taking the Pym Particles right now.
On one hand, he wasn't entirely unscrupulous. On the other, Loki was in play.
This mess required Fury's full attention.
His main focus was ensuring the advance reached Satan and when he would act.
"Sir, the transfer is complete!"
Three days later, Fury received the news.
He finally relaxed slightly, praying Satan would perform reliably.
"The advance arrived? Fury is as efficient as always," Zhou Cheng noted.
He stood, geared up, and headed out without delay.
Arriving at a deserted "transfer point," he changed into his uniform, donned a mask, and pulled out Captain Jack's compass.
Whoosh!
Wings flapped, and Zhou Cheng soared into the air, flying over New York for fifteen kilometers.
He stopped outside a plain, unremarkable building.
"This is it!"
Following the compass, he stopped and focused his eyes.
Whoosh!
His X-ray vision activated, revealing everything inside the building—nothing was missed.
X-ray vision? Thanks to the diary reward.
Though modest, it was highly practical—saving him considerable effort.
Through two walls, Zhou Cheng clearly saw Loki on the seventh floor.
Loki sat arrogantly on a sofa.
A small, exquisite briefcase lay on the coffee table.
Inside, the Tesseract glowed blue.
The target of Zhou Cheng's mission.
Also present was a golden-haired, extremely curvaceous woman wearing a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform.
Black Widow?
What the…?
Wasn't Loki controlling Hawkeye with the scepter? How did it suddenly become Black Widow?
