/Zane's POV/
I blinked several times before my brain regained control of my body, which for some reason I couldn't seem to move for some reason.
The faint scent of coffee drifted through the air, mixing with the cool, sharp tang of the morning breeze seeping through the curtains. My limbs felt heavy, my skin prickled against the leather of the sofa, and every sound—the soft hum of the air conditioner, the rhythmic tick of the wall clock—seemed to echo twice as loud in my groggy head.
I remember falling asleep in the study trying to get Allison's phone to turn on and when it did, I was passworded so I had to try and unlocked his phones with few of her password combinations I was familiar with but after none worked, Kept the phone aside hoping to catch up with work.
