Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: FINAL DANCE

Listening to the growing fighting sounds in the distance made Hanan and Li Ren worry grow second by second.

"Hanan... will mother be alright?"

"You don't need to worry about master as even if she was caught unprepared those three still cannot threaten her life, in her realm the number of people who can defeat her in a one-on-one fight can be counted on two hands.

'That's what worries me the most, that three won't come unprepared after raising the stakes so high, if they let mother escape then their death is almost guaranteed'.

=====

The moon hung low, casting silver light over the shattered courtyard. Wind howled through the broken pillars as three cultivators encircled a lone figure—Lady Feng Chunqinq, her robes fluttering like phoenix wings, her eyes burning with celestial fire."

"I don't really understand what gave you three the confidence that you lowly people could ever defeat me, and you guys came with the intentions of killing me!!!!"

Feng Chunqinq laughed hysterically, her blade which was twice her length covered in blood till hilt.

"Arrogance suits you poorly. Let's see how long that tongue wags once your limbs are broken."

Fu Sisi hissed not understanding that one of her hand was broken from the elbow.

"Then come. But know this—every strike you land, I return tenfold. I am the flame that devours the storm, the silence that shatters illusions."

Feng Chunqing raising her hand, summoning a swirling lotus of flame.

"Enough talk!"

Luo Zue shouts and lunges forward, fists glowing with golden qi. Feng Chunqing pivots, her palm meeting his strike with a burst of crimson light. Luo Zue is thrown back, crashing into a stone wall.

"Thunder Slash!"

Tang Yanjun charges with his blade crackling.

Feng Chunqing spins, her sleeve flicking out like a whip, deflecting the blade with a ringing clash. Sparks fly as she counters with a fiery kick, forcing Tang Yanjun to retreat.

"Mirror Veil!"

Fu Sisi chants, illusions bloom around Feng Chunqing—dozens of Fu Sisi dancing in a spiral. But Feng Chunqing closes her eyes, her voice soft and deadly.

"Illusions are born of fear. I have none."

Feng Chunqing releases a pulse of spiritual energy. The illusions shatter like glass, revealing the real Fu Sisi, stunned. Feng Chunqing's blade flashes—stopping just as Fu Sisi retreated using a talisman.

The moonlight flickered as the three defeated cultivators—Tang Yanjun, Fu Sisi, and Luo Zue—rose to their feet, bloodied but burning with desperation. Lady Feng Chunqing stood poised, her blade humming with flame, her breath steady despite the toll of battle.

Suddenly, the air grew heavy. The three exchanged glances, nodding grimly.

"We end this now. No more honor. No more restraint."

Tang Yanjun gritted his teeth and raised his blade to the sky. Thunder roared as he invoked the Heaven-Splitting Fang, a technique banned since the War of Four Heavens. His body crackled with lightning, veins glowing blue.

"Let the veil of fate be torn."

Fu Sisi chanting softly dissolved into mist, her true form emerging—a spectral fox with nine tails, each shimmering with illusion and death. She whispered the Mirror of Endless Echoes, a forbidden art that traps the soul in infinite reflections.

"By the Iron Vow, I offer my soul."

Luo Zue slamming his fists together roared, his skin turning to obsidian. He activated the Monk's Final Sutra, a suicidal technique that converts life force into pure destructive force.

"So you choose oblivion over defeat. Very well~~~~Phoenix Rebirth – Third Movement: Ashes to Embers."

Feng Chunqing murmured softly and closed her eyes. Her flame dimmed… then flared into a blinding lotus of crimson and gold. Her voice rang out like a bell.

Tang Yanjun's thunder blade struck first—met by Feng Chunqing's flaming palm. The sky split, but her flame devoured the lightning, turning it into a storm of petals.

Fu Sisi's illusions swarmed her mind—but Feng Chunqing's soul burned too brightly. Each mirror shattered as her qi surged, revealing Fu Sisi's true form. One strike. Fu Sisi collapsed, unconscious.

Luo Zue charged, a walking bomb of fury. Feng Chunqing danced through his strikes, her blade carving sigils in the air. With a final spin, she redirected his energy into the earth, sealing it with a lotus brand.

"Let this be your lesson. Power without wisdom is just destruction. And I do not fall to destruction."

The courtyard was silent again. The three lay defeated—not dead, but broken. Their forbidden arts had failed. Feng Chunqing stood amidst the wreckage, her robes singed, her aura flickering—but her eyes still sharp.

 Just as silence returned to Crimson Abyss Peak, the air twisted—space itself rippled.

"Impressive. But fire burns brightest before it dies."

A voice, deep and ancient, echoed from the void.

From the rift stepped a figure cloaked in obsidian robes, his eyes glowing with violet light—Tang Xingshi, the Void Sovereign. A cultivator of the Void Ascendant Realm, one tier above Feng Chunqing's own realm.

"Tang Xingshi.... I did not expect your Tang clan's schemes to run so deep.

Feng Chunqing narrowed her eyes.

"You've danced well, Yun Fei. But the stage was never yours."

Tang Xingshi smiled coldly and raises his hand. The sky fractures like glass. A swirling vortex of black and silver opens—a sealed realm, forged from void essence.

"You'll find I don't bow easily."

Feng Chunqing summons her blade and charges, flame trailing behind her like a comet. Mo Tian doesn't flinch. With a flick of his wrist, the realm expands, swallowing her strike and her form whole.

=====

Feng Chunqing awakens in a world of endless twilight. Time flows strangely. Her powers are suppressed, her qi tangled in the realm's laws. But her eyes burn with defiance.

"This realm may cage me... but it cannot extinguish me. My son will rise. And when he does, the Void shall tremble."

=====

Within hours, spiritual messengers and flying talismans carried the tale across the Five Great Sects and the Four Clans. In taverns, temples, and training halls, cultivators whispered in awe and dread how the sect master of the largest demon sect was sealed while fighting in her sect. Her life and death unknown.
