Chapter 256 - TDP Chapter 255 Kevin: I saw a ghost too!

Barry finally decided to leave with Kevin.

Although he also wanted to live with his parents, Barry, having gone through this incident, knew in his heart that none of this belonged to him.

He shouldn't stay here either.

Furthermore, in order to return to his own world, he would have to change the already altered past again after regaining his abilities.

This was certainly not an easy thing for Barry to accept, but in order to go back and save the potentially messed-up timeline of his own world, Barry could only do this.

"Are you really not going to say goodbye to him in person?"

So, just before leaving, Kevin looked at Barry, who was standing in front of his house but not intending to go in, and asked him softly.

Barry shook his head, looking at the cozy house in the distance, seeing the happy family inside through the window, and whispered:

"I shouldn't have been here in the first place, and it's not right for me to continue disturbing them."

"At least you should say goodbye to the other you, he really cares about you."

"I know... I know... but this is fine now..."

When Barry changes the timeline again, it's very likely he'll never be able to return to this world.

Instead of saying goodbye to his other self face-to-face, it's better to leave as quietly as he arrived; perhaps that's better for everyone.

Ultimately, Barry and Kevin are just passersby in this world; they don't belong here.

"Alright, anyway, even if you regret it later, I can bring you back to see them, provided you haven't started changing the timeline yet."

Kevin made no comment on Barry's choice.

They were only temporarily leaving the Flashpoint Universe; later, when Flash recovered his abilities, they would have to return and use this world as a starting point to change the past timeline.

Before the Flashpoint Universe was changed, as long as Barry stayed with Kevin, he could return at any time.

The two decided to leave without greeting anyone, picking a spot to return to Kevin's world.

However, just before leaving, Barry suddenly asked Kevin:

"This universe also truly exists, right? Although I can't change the timeline I'm in, here... at least the people living here, they are all real, aren't they?"

"Of course, when you observe this universe, its existence is already confirmed; even if you leave, it will continue to exist."

Kevin gave a definite answer to Barry's question.

The existence of Old Bat proves that this universe indeed exists within the DC Universe's multiverse, and it wasn't something that only came into being because Flash changed time.

It already existed; Barry's arrival merely added some tributaries that didn't belong to this timeline.

This timeline will not disappear because Barry re-changes the past, so Barry doesn't have to worry about indirectly destroying this universe.

Kevin's answer greatly relaxed Barry.

He no longer worried about everything in this world and instead began to ask about the situation in Kevin's world.

"Oh, by the way, I never asked, what is your world like? Will we exist there too?"

"No... how should I put it, our world is a very distant parallel universe from your universe..."

Kevin chose his words carefully as he spoke.

"?"

Barry didn't quite understand what Kevin was saying.

Kevin continued to explain:

"There are many kinds of parallel universes. The universe you are in, and the universe where Kara the Supergirl is, although different, their general trajectory is largely consistent.

"For example, Batman exists in both, Atlantis exists in both, and Krypton exists in both..."

"We can call them [Similar Universes], meaning universes with largely similar historical trajectories."

"And the universe I am in is a different universe with a completely different history from yours. There is no Flash, no Batman, no Atlantis, not even Krypton, and perhaps no gods exist there."

At this point, Kevin looked at Flash seriously:

"Do you understand what I mean?"

"I understand, you mean there's no us there, but... but if that's the case, then how do you know...?"

Barry wanted to ask more, but Kevin interrupted him:

"We're about to leave, get ready!"

"Oh... okay."

Kevin had no intention of continuing to explain to Barry.

After all, the more he explained, the more troublesome it would become; if he were to explain everything clearly, he would probably have to reveal that Kevin was a 'box outside' transmigrator.

Whether Barry would believe it or not is one thing, but what if he really believed it and had a mental breakdown?

Like Professor X in a certain comic world.

He learned he was a character in a comic world and simply couldn't accept it, leading to brain death.

Or like Deadpool, who started slaughtering the entire universe.

So, instead of wasting so much breath on useless things, it's better to simply use excuses like 'all worlds are parallel universes, the only difference is distance' to gloss over it.

This way, even if he takes Barry to the Marvel World in the future, Kevin can provide a reasonable explanation.

Barry was indeed a considerate little angel; when he sensed that Kevin didn't want to tell him, he stopped asking and stayed obediently by Kevin's side, waiting for him to take him away.

Moreover, he could understand Kevin's explanation; what he didn't understand was why Kevin knew so much about them.

However, there could be a reasonable explanation for this too.

That is, Kevin had been to too many parallel universes and seen too many worlds, which is why he knew so much.

This also fit Kevin's self-proclaimed image as a 'traveler'.

Grabbing Barry's arm, Kevin got ready to leave.

The gains in the DC Universe this time were pretty good; not only did he successfully complete his second advancement, but he also obtained the golden trident and a large number of skill points.

And there was also the 'treasure' stored by Kevin in a container and collected by the treasury: Kryptonian blood.

That was Zod's blood; Kevin, adhering to the principle of not wasting anything, collected it and tentatively placed it in the treasury.

And it was indeed recognized by the treasury, identifying it as a 'treasure' and collecting it.

He really didn't know what the treasury's standard for judging treasures was...

Could it be that anything related to the plot and plot characters counted as treasure?

If it really followed this standard, wouldn't Banner's underwear also be a treasure?

While thinking about these random things, Kevin took Barry back to his original world.

However, because the world Kevin was in before his second advancement was Wolverine 3, this time Kevin didn't return directly to the Black Robe Universe; instead, he returned to the place where he had transmigrated in the Wolverine 3 Universe before.

The only difference was that when Kevin left the Wolverine 3 world, it was daytime, and now it was nighttime.

This was because Kevin did not use skill points to pause the time in this world when he left the Wolverine 3 world.

"Hmm, it seems feasible to enter other instance worlds from within an instance world."

Back in the Wolverine 3 world, Kevin drew this conclusion.

Transmigrating between instances had no impact and caused no accidents; although this news seemed useless now, what if it became useful later?

"This is... your universe, Mr. Kevin?"

While Kevin was pondering, Barry suddenly asked.

Kevin snapped out of it and shook his head at him:

"No, just a transit stop here... Get ready, we're going to keep transmigrating."

Though he said 'get ready,' there was nothing really to prepare. Kevin didn't wait for Barry to do anything, grabbing his shoulder again and transmigrating worlds.

And then...

Kevin and Barry's figures abruptly appeared in a deserted plaza.

And what was even harder to accept was that the time here was also late night.

Kevin: "..."

Damn it, something seems to have gone wrong!

...

A-Train had been very annoyed lately.

Extremely annoyed.

If you asked why, it was, of course, the fact that his departure from The Seven had become a foregone conclusion!

Can't stay in The Seven because of heart disease?

Bullshit!!

A-Train felt that it must have been Stormfront's idea, that bitch; she was a vile racist, A-Train could tell!

But what could he do?

The Seven had always been Homelander's territory; A-Train could only listen to him.

Besides...

A-Train's running speed was indeed much worse than before; among speedsters, he was no longer the fastest.

He was no longer the proud prodigy who consistently ranked first in the academy; years of laziness and Compound V abuse had destroyed his body, making it impossible for Reggie to run as he once did.

But A-Train, Reggie, felt that he couldn't be blamed for this.

Many people became heroes, and quite a few fell from heroic positions; not to mention others, even Homelander was such a rotten person, so what was wrong with him following suit?

The only thing he considered a mistake, one of his few, was his Compound V use.

But he couldn't be blamed for that either.

If Homelander hadn't made him transport Compound V, how could he have come into contact with it!

Yes, it was all Homelander's fault.

Not to mention that a Mysterious Man had beaten him up a few days ago because of the Compound V incident, which made Reggie even more furious.

Compound V... damn Compound V! If it weren't for Compound V, how would he have fallen to this state!

"Mr. Kevin... are you sure you're okay? You look a bit pale."

"No... I'm fine, um, I think I'm fine. Also, you can just call me by my name; calling me 'Mr.' is a bit too formal."

Kevin?

A-Train, who was originally planning to go to a bar to relax, stopped in his tracks upon hearing this name and the familiar voice.

If he remembered correctly, that unlucky fish who was expelled from The Seven was also named Kevin?

And the voice matched too.

A-Train couldn't help but look in the direction the voice came from.

Then he saw a familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar person.

He said 'familiar' because A-Train could recognize that it was The Deep.

He said 'unfamiliar' because The Deep's attire in front of him was completely different from when he last saw him.

First, his previously shaved head, with only a thin layer of stubble remaining, had turned into stylish short hair.

He was no longer wearing his hero uniform; instead, he had changed into a decent casual suit.

And then there was his demeanor.

The Deep in front of him completely lacked the loser vibe he once had; instead, he felt like someone in a high position. A-Train felt like he was seeing Edgar.

If his name, voice, and appearance didn't all match, A-Train would have thought the person wasn't The Deep, but just someone else who looked similar.

Why was The Deep here?

And who was that nerdy-looking guy next to him?

Also, The Deep's current image... if he had looked like this when he apologized before, he wouldn't have been universally condemned online.

Was he trying to change his image to get back into The Seven?

Thinking this, A-Train, with a testing mindset, greeted The Deep over there:

"Oh? Isn't this The Deep? What are you doing here?"

"!?"

A-Train originally intended to say hello, considering their past colleague relationship.

But he didn't expect that upon seeing A-Train, The Deep's expression was as astonished as if he had seen a ghost.

As if A-Train shouldn't be here.
