Solace's POV
Lying in his bed, Solace felt a certain emotion that made his mind go haywire.
"Is this how it feels to help or save someone?"
He felt good about himself, feeling that he was not so bad after all. Ever since his arrival, his emotions have been incomplete. The feelings of rage and sorrow were distant from his being. And that became more clear when he heard of Veyra and Sarah's death. He thought that he would at least feel sad about them. But all he felt was guilt. He tried hard to get emotional, but he couldn't.
Almost all of his friends had visited Veyra's daughter. Cried and suffered. He almost felt subhuman compared to them.
So today, when he was training in the park like he usually does. He heard a whimpering or crying sound in the park. At first he thought he heard a familiar voice.
He didn't want to do anything with whoever it was, but he decided to stay.
After hearing the girl's plea. He should have felt sad or tried comforting her. But that was not what he could feel. He wanted to offer comfort, but he didn't feel her sorrow. So in an attempt. He gave her an honest answer. As a victim of bullying, he understood the weight and pressure that you are under, especially if you have no family.
Dying does end the pain. And it is not a weak-mindedness to think that.
But if all you want is a better life, then he asked her to struggle, because a struggle never goes to waste. There will be a chance at a better future if you struggle, if you stand your ground. Yes, the chance of you succeeding will be low, but it is better to die on your own terms giving your all than to die because of the choice you didn't make.
Saying to a suicidal person that he is not alone or to think about his or her family makes him or her internally add extra responsibility to the victim, making the person feel more shame for thinking of death.
He was quite proud of himself. He had done a good deed.
After a bit of contemplation, he decided that it was too late and he should probably sleep
He smiled on his bed, knowing that he was going to have a fulfilling and good sleep.
***
The next day he was up early and had crucial things to worry about. His treatment for blindness.
He had received a letter from the receptionist. Stating that the principal has arranged an appointment at an expensive medical center in Theron. And that he would need to visit the center with a family member tomorrow.
He had informed his family, letting them know of this arrangement.
And unfortunately, both of my parents were currently not available. Father, due to his meetings with the Imperial Army, and Mother, due to, well, let's just say that she was not feeling so well.
So the only viable option was the two devils, Noah and Luna.
"Gods, this will be hectic."
