Chapter 19 - chapter 19

Kai POV

We reappeared in the lab, and I opened my pocket dimension, pulling out all the Power Coins, their faint glow lighting the room. One by one, I handed them to Hope. Trini followed suit, giving her the White Tiger blade and her own Power Coin.

I'd already told Trini she could keep the Zeo Crystal for her world, and she didn't argue. She'd earned it.

We left the lab and headed upstairs. Trini was no longer in her armor, and for the first time, I could really see her face. She looked… peaceful. Truly peaceful. There was no trace of guilt or pain in her eyes anymore, just quiet relief.

We reached the living room, and both dropped onto the couch, completely exhausted. The silence between us wasn't awkward; it was comfortable. After everything we'd been through, words felt unnecessary. Still, I found myself breaking it.

"Trini?" I said softly.

She turned her head toward me. "Yeah?"

"How are you feeling?"

She didn't answer right away. Her gaze drifted off, thoughtful. When she finally spoke, her voice was calm, almost light.

"I feel… like a weight's finally off my shoulders," she said. "I avenged everyone I loved. Rita will never hurt anyone again. For the first time in years… I actually feel free."

I smiled. "Glad to hear it. And… sorry for not inviting you from the start."

Trini gave me a tired smile of her own. "It's okay. You were just trying to protect me. I get it."

"Good," I said, leaning back with a sigh. "Because after fighting monsters and galactic psychos all day, I'm calling it, I need a nap."

Trini chuckled softly. "Me too."

We both stood, moving sluggishly from exhaustion. I gave her a nod before heading down the hall toward my room.

Jack POV

I was on lookout duty, meditating, or at least trying to. My breathing was steady, my energy calm, but my appearance? Not so much.

No shirt. Just pants. My body was covered in thick green fur, and my tail swayed behind me lazily in the breeze. That's right, I was in Super Saiyan 4 form. Been holding it for about a month now.

Getting here wasn't easy.

After unlocking Super Saiyan Blue, I figured I'd take it easy for a while. Maybe head home. But of course, fate had other plans. Frieza showed up again. So naturally, I jumped in to help the Z Fighters alongside Goku and Vegeta.

He tried the same trick as before, charging up to blow the planet to hell, but this time, Goku stopped him cold. Guess training with two Saiyans instead of one really paid off.

While Frieza was fighting, though, he wouldn't shut up. "Monkey this, monkey that," over and over again. It was annoying… but it got me thinking. Or more accurately, it reminded me of something.

Super Saiyan 4.

After Goku finished him off, I pulled Bulma aside and asked if she could help me regrow my tail. She didn't even hesitate, just tossed me into one of her fancy healing pods and got to work.

And before you ask, yes, I was wearing boxers. I wasn't about to let her take away my Vegeta moment.

Once my tail was back, I took a ship to a remote planet that had a permanent full moon. The perfect place to test my limits.

Controlling the Oozaru form was hell. The planet didn't have any life on it, which was probably for the best, because I went on a rampage the first few times. But after weeks of battling my instincts, I finally did it, I gained control.

From there, I pushed myself harder, staying in that form, meditating, focusing on one goal: merging that primal power with Super Saiyan energy.

And when it finally clicked… that was it. Super Saiyan 4.

Now here I am, calm, focused, and more powerful than ever. And honestly? It feels amazing.

The hardest part about reaching this form wasn't the transformation itself; it was learning how to control it. My energy flow was completely different. It took me days just to stop accidentally firing blasts from my mouth instead of my hands. Every time I tried to channel ki, it felt like wrestling a wild beast inside me.

But after a few more weeks of trial and error, a lot of broken craters and destroyed mountains later, I finally did it. I became the first Super Saiyan 4 in this timeline.

Though my version's a little… different.

Instead of the usual red fur and black hair, mine came out green, the same color as the Legendary Super Saiyan. Figures, right?

Speaking of which… yeah, I might've picked up Broly and his dad, Paragus, and brought them to Earth.

Don't worry, I made sure Paragus understood the rules. He's been on his best behavior since I politely threatened to rip off his arm and beat him with it. And Broly? He's actually chill once you stop him from raging every ten minutes. I've already proven I'm stronger than both of them combined, so that helps keep the peace.

Anyway, for the past month, I've been up here on the Lookout, meditating, focusing, and soaking up the sunlight. You wouldn't think it, but every second I spend under the sun makes me stronger. Guess that's the Kryptonian in me doing its thing.

At this point, I'm easily stronger than Goku and Vegeta.

And you should've seen their faces when I came back in this form. Their jaws hit the floor. I laughed so hard I almost lost my tail.

As I sat there, deep in meditation, I suddenly felt a familiar energy signature appear behind me.

Goku.

He always does this, locks onto my ki and uses it as his personal homing beacon whenever he Instant Transmissions back to Earth.

I didn't even open my eyes. "You know, Goku," I said, smirking, "one day I'm gonna start charging rent for using me as your landing pad."

"Hey, Jack, and please don't," Goku said, rubbing the back of his head with that sheepish grin of his. "I'm not exactly rich, y'know."

I smirked, still not opening my eyes. "Hey, Goku."

He chuckled. "So, uh, I know you said you wanted to stay up here on the Lookout for a while, but… there's gonna be a small tournament coming up, and I want you on our team."

That got my attention. I opened my eyes, turning to face him. "I'm listening."

He grinned wider, already hyped. "Beerus and his brother Champa are organizing this tournament between Universes 6 and 7. They're picking their strongest fighters to represent their universes. Winner gets the Super Dragon Balls."

Now that was interesting.

I leaned back, crossing my arms. "The Super Dragon Balls, huh? Big enough to grant any wish in existence… yeah, that's definitely worth my time."

Truthfully, I knew I could take down most of the competition without breaking a sweat. But there was one fighter I wanted to face more than anyone.

Hit

The assassin from Universe 6. The time-skip technique, I'd known about it, studied it, I knew how to beat him… but I wanted to feel it. Experienced it for myself.

I might even let him land a few on me, see how his time skip really works firsthand.

Goku tilted his head. "So… you're in?"

I stood, cracking my neck as my aura flickered faintly green. "I'm in."

Goku grinned from ear to ear. "Awesome! This is gonna be fun!"

"Yeah," I said, my eyes glowing faintly as I looked out over the horizon. "Fun."

But inside, I was already thinking ahead. A multiversal tournament. A chance to fight some of the strongest beings in existence.

And if I played my cards right… maybe even test my limits again.

Next DayMight Woman (Sam) POV

"So… you just keep a random spare tire in your back seat?" I asked, holding the car up with one hand while the man crouched to change the flat.

He laughed nervously. "Yeah, for times like this. Honestly, if I could, I'd keep two back there, but my trunk can only fit one."

"Very prepared," I said, smiling.

"Try to be," he replied with a shrug.

The man and I were still just talking like it was the most natural thing in the world, me holding up a car with one hand while he swapped out a tire. People around us were taking pictures, recording videos, whispering excitedly. I didn't mind; it came with the territory.

But as I scanned the crowd, a few faces stood out. Too calm. Too focused. Their eyes weren't on their phones; they were on me. And I could hear faint chatter through their earpieces. Definitely government.

I sighed internally. Great. Agents playing spy in plain sight.

I wasn't worried, though. Kryptonite doesn't affect me, perks of my unique biology. If they tried to pull something stupid, I'd just have to be a little… rougher than usual. Still, I made a mental note: I need to tell Kai about this later.

"Okay, I'm done," the man said, tightening the last lug nut and packing up his tools.

I gently set the car back down on the street, letting out a small smile.

"Thank you, Might Woman," he said, straightening up. "I really appreciate it. Would've been a pain doing that by myself."

"No problem," I said warmly. "Happy to help. You never did tell me your name, by the way."

He chuckled. "Oh, I'm a nobody. Didn't think it mattered. But if you really want to know, it's John."

I smiled wider. "Nice to meet you, John. And just so you know, nobody is nobody. You matter to someone."

His expression softened. "Heh… yeah, I guess I do. I've got a wife and a kid waiting for me at home."

"There you go," I said with a grin. "Two people right there who'd disagree with that 'nobody' talk."

He laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Thanks, Might Woman. I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm running late."

"I won't keep you," I said, stepping back. "Drive safe, John. Hope to see you around."

He smiled once more before getting in his car and driving off, completely unaware that half the crowd watching us weren't fans… they were surveillance.

I watched the car disappear down the street, then glanced back at the agents still pretending to be civilians.

Yeah. Definitely telling Kai.

I was just about to take off myself when I noticed a familiar figure descending from the sky, red cape, blue suit, and that unshakable aura of righteousness.

Superman.

I crossed my arms as he landed a few feet in front of me. "Well, this is a surprise," I said, raising a brow.

"I heard you were in the area," he said evenly. "I wanted to talk."

"No, I mean it's a surprise you'd willingly come near me," I replied. "Word is, you and my boss didn't exactly have the friendliest conversation last time."

He looked… awkward. His usual calm demeanor slipped for a moment as he glanced around at the people filming us, probably realizing this wasn't the best place for a serious talk.

"Do you mind if we speak somewhere more private? Just for a few minutes," Superman asked.

I studied his face. He looked genuinely concerned, not accusatory, not hostile. Just… uneasy. So I sighed and nodded. "Alright, fine."

We both rose quietly into the sky, breaking through the clouds until the noise of the city faded below us. Up here, it was just blue sky, wind, and sunlight.

"No one should hear us here," I said. "Unless you're counting the handful of people on Earth who also have super-hearing."

He hesitated, then spoke carefully. "I hope you won't take offense to this, but… you have a child. Soldier Boy mentioned it during the invasion. I wanted to ask you a few questions."

That made my expression harden instantly.

"Questions?" I repeated, my tone dropping. "About what, exactly? Why do you want to know about my daughter?"

There was heat in my voice, not rage, but a sharp warning. Superman might be a good man, but I didn't like anyone prying into her.

Especially not another hero who might start seeing us as a "potential threat."

Ruby's identity was one secret I'd burn the world to protect.

He quickly raised both hands, shaking his head. "I'm sorry, that came out wrong. I didn't mean it like that. I just wanted to know… how did you manage to reproduce with a human?"

That caught me completely off guard. I blinked at him, genuinely stunned for a second.

"Well," I said dryly, crossing my arms, "when two people find each other attractive, or get drunk enough to make a mistake, things happen."

His eyes went wide. "No, no! That's not what I meant!" he said quickly, waving his hands again. "I mean, how were you able to physically reproduce with a human without… hurting them in the process?"

"Oh." My expression softened as I realized what he actually meant. "Oh. That."

He looked embarrassed, scratching the back of his neck. "Yeah. That."

"Sorry, Superman," I said with a faint smirk. "Can't really help you there."

He frowned slightly. "Why not? I know you're a woman, but… any advice could really help me." His voice was awkward but sincere, and the embarrassment on his face almost made me laugh.

I sighed, lowering my arms. "Okay, what I'm about to tell you stays between us. It's not something I talk about often."

He straightened up instantly, all seriousness now.

"I'm trusting you with this, Superman," I said, my tone firm. "Can I count on you to keep it between us?"

"Yes," he said seriously, nodding.

I exhaled softly and looked out over the horizon before speaking. "Alright then. Here's the truth."

"I didn't have any powers when I was younger. In fact, my abilities didn't awaken until a few months ago. Before that, I was… just normal. No flight, no strength, no heat vision, nothing."

Superman's eyes widened slightly, but he stayed silent, listening.

"When my powers did come in, it was… rough," I admitted. "I was terrified. Couldn't control anything. There was an incident, one I'd rather not get into, but the Mage King stepped in and helped me stabilize. Without him, I probably wouldn't even be standing here right now."

I paused for a moment before continuing. "So, when I had my daughter, I wasn't powered yet. I was just a depowered Kryptonian. There wasn't any risk of me… hurting my partner during the process."

He nodded slowly, a look of understanding settling over his face. "Oh… I see."

"Sorry, I couldn't be more help," I said honestly. "But if you're really that worried, you could always have someone make you a Red Sun bracelet. It'll depower you for a while, make things, you know, safer."

He blinked, then gave a faint, grateful smile. "That's… actually not a bad idea."

I smirked, folding my arms. "Trust me, Superman, your ego might take a hit, but your partner will thank you later."

For a second, I swear he almost blushed.
