Chapter 204 - Chapter 204: Night Camp

"How was it? Did you find anything?"

Ren stood in a dark, secluded corner, asking somewhat anxiously within his body.

"Found it. This Chakra…"

Chomei's voice was the first to speak, but he only said half, while Isobu continued to supplement.

"It's Gyuki."

"Hiss."

Ren immediately sucked in a cold breath. He was right. Since that man had appeared here, his inseparable good brother had indeed followed him.

"The other party has also detected our Chakra. What do you think? Should we communicate?"

Chomei continued, and Ren was first stunned upon hearing this, but he quickly reacted and urgently shouted within his body.

"No, absolutely not! Gather all Chakra back."

What kind of international joke was this? If his location was discovered by the other party through the two beasts' aura, not to mention whether his identity would be exposed, at the very least, their hope of completing this mission would become very slim.

"Okay."

The two beasts did not ask further but quickly began to gather their released Chakra. Ren also returned to his original body. After composing himself, he turned and walked out of the corner, quickly heading elsewhere.

"Two big brothers, the other party didn't sense our exact location, right?"

Ren asked as he walked, and the two beasts did not hesitate. As soon as Ren finished speaking, Chomei responded.

"No, they only sensed the direction. The exact location is impossible unless our Chakra is connected."

"Phew, that's good."

Ren's hanging heart finally settled. His steps also became lighter. Meanwhile, on the other side, the sunglasses-wearing youth who was still singing and dancing in the tent paused, but quickly resumed rapping.

"Konoha direction, aura disappeared, Eight-Tails lost, idiot, bastard, yeah!"

Because Chomei and Isobu sensed together, Eight-Tails didn't dare to be sure for a while. When he wanted to communicate further with the other party, he found that the other party's Chakra had disappeared.

"Konoha, huh…"

The yellow-haired youth next to him stroked his beard, beginning to ponder.

If Konoha really also used a Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, then the plan might need to be reconsidered.

"Bee, always pay attention to that aura. If the other party appears again, notify me immediately."

After the youth finished speaking, he walked to a table nearby, picked up a pen and paper, and began to write. A moment later, when he stopped writing, he called out towards the door.

"Motoi!"

"Here!"

A youth wearing a white Kumogakure uniform, with long brown hair and green paint on his nose, lifted the curtain and entered, responding loudly.

"Please deliver this letter to Third Raikage-sama in Hidden Cloud Village as quickly as possible. This information is very important."

"Yes!"

Motoi solemnly took the envelope, then walked out, leaving the two brothers alone in the tent.

"I hope it's just Eight-Tails's illusion…"

The yellow-haired youth turned to look at his brother, who had started wiping his tools again, a hint of worry in his eyes.

The terror of the Nine-Tailed could not be balanced by just one Eight-Tails.

Meanwhile, Ren wandered around the Konoha Camp for a long time, gaining a general understanding of the surrounding situation.

By dusk, Ren returned to the agreed meeting place with Aoki, who was already waiting there.

"You're here."

Ren nodded to Aoki, and after spreading his perception, he spoke.

"I guessed correctly. Kumogakure indeed dispatched a Jinchuriki."

Aoki did not speak, but from his expression, it was clear that his heart was not calm.

"So, how is your mission progressing?"

Ren asked, and Aoki, as expected of a spy, quickly composed himself. After briefly organizing his words, he replied.

"Very smoothly. I have already found the intelligence personnel. Tomorrow, I can try to make contact with them and obtain the intelligence.

We can't delay any longer. We must bring back all the information about Hidden Cloud Village dispatching a Jinchuriki and the mission intelligence as soon as possible."

"Do you need help?"

Aoki, however, refused decisively.

"No, leave it to me. You continue to investigate the Jinchuriki's information, or plan our evacuation route. As a Perception Ninja, these shouldn't be difficult for you, right?"

Ren nodded, agreeing.

"No problem, I'll take care of it."

Although disguising oneself and infiltrating to obtain intelligence was not comparable to these professionals, combat and retreat were still not a problem.

After the two finalized the plan, they began to look for a place to rest for the night. Staying outside was definitely not an option. Kumogakure's night patrol teams were constantly on rotation, so there were no so-called blind spots. Therefore, the only option left for the two was a tent.

"Hello, are there any Medical Ninja still working now?"

A strong, bare-armed Muscular man was carrying another man on his back. The latter had his eyes tightly shut, with beads of sweat trickling down his forehead, and his facial features were slightly contorted, looking very pained.

"What's going on? Where's your identification?"

Looking at the two comrades in front of him, one Kumogakure Ninja stepped forward, asking about the situation while demanding identification.

"My name is Saru, and he is Kasai. He was caught in a genjutsu on the battlefield today. Although it was dispelled with help, he started acting a bit strange after returning, always spacing out.

When we were about to rest earlier, he suddenly collapsed, so I brought him here to ask a Medical Ninja for help."

The strong man said this while taking out his pre-prepared identification, handing it over, and then standing anxiously, looking at the two with an eager expression.

"Is that so…"

The other Kumogakure Ninja took the two men's identification and began to check it. It had their photos, names, and Ninja registration numbers. After verifying everything, the former nodded to his companion nearby, then turned sideways, signaling the two to pass.

"Quickly take him in to be seen. The Medical Ninja work in shifts, so you don't have to worry."

"Thank you!"

The strong man said gratefully. After taking back their identification, he led his companion into the Konoha Camp.

"Sigh, this damned war, when will it end?"

One Kumogakure Ninja looked at the two comrades walking into the Medical Tent not far away and couldn't help but sigh.

"Who knows? Perhaps, soon…"

Looking at the silent Konoha Camp in front of them and the constant groans coming from behind, the two fell silent.

Soon or slow, who knows.

Perhaps tomorrow they would be sent to the battlefield and die in battle, adding two more memorial stones to the cemetery. Or perhaps they would continue to serve in their current safe camp guard duty until the war ended, returning to the Village to live out their remaining years.

The future, who can know?
