Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Doctor's Shock, Roya's Disappearance

Dragging Weevil's mountainous body,

Roya boarded Noah's Ark's deck.

The ark was truly enormous—just standing on the deck, all one could see was the ship's massive hull.

The moment the two stepped onto Noah's Ark,

The island below completely crumbled.

Engulfed entirely by the ocean.

Turbulent waves churned, forming a massive whirlpool.

Not lingering any longer,

Roya used the Talismans' power to fly toward Ohara. Now, Weevil could be considered a war machine.

And a very powerful one at that. Roya could ensure his unwavering loyalty.

Thus, he planned to send Weevil to Ohara.

It was worth noting that Ohara was still under the surveillance of the Marines.

Roya even suspected that if the Marines failed to uncover anything soon, they would undoubtedly launch another attack.

If he were present, it wouldn't be an issue.

But even in his absence, Weevil's presence alone would be enough to handle most situations!

As Roya sailed toward Ohara, Kalifa and the others had already arrived at Marineford aboard their warship.

Marineford had long prepared the best medical team, who immediately conducted a series of examinations on Zefa the moment the ship docked.

When they saw Zefa, despite his severe injuries, showed no signs of life-threatening danger, they were awestruck.

"Lady Kalifa, what exactly happened to Admiral Zefa? His vital signs are weak, but there's no critical danger—this is simply unbelievable!"

As time passed, the medical team discovered that many of the Marine trainees also exhibited similar conditions.

This indicated that someone with extraordinary medical skills had treated them beforehand.

Moreover, the treatment methods used were something they had never encountered before.

In response, Kalifa simply said, "This was done by Admiral White Pigeon when they were injured."

"What?! Admiral White Pigeon possesses such incredible medical skills?!"

"His skills far surpass ours!"

"This is nothing short of a miracle! A miracle!"

...

At this moment, after checking on Zefa, Sengoku approached Kalifa.

"Kalifa, where is White Pigeon?"

"When we left, White Pigeon was fighting Whitebeard Jr. The island was on the verge of collapse. He told me to escort Zefa and the others back first for better treatment, to stabilize their condition and prevent any lasting effects. I... I chose to trust Roya!"

In the end, Kalifa called him Roya!

Sengoku noticed Kalifa's clenched fists, her lower lip lightly bitten, and her brows slightly furrowed. His heart sank as he said, "I also trust White Pigeon. I believe he must have had confidence in his words. Perhaps we'll receive news in a few days. Additionally, I'll dispatch investigators to look into it. You can rest assured."

"Mm!"

Kalifa nodded, then pulled out a Den Den Mushi from her pocket.

This was Roya's Admiral-exclusive Den Den Mushi.

But because he had rushed to assist, Roya hadn't taken it with him—meaning they had no way to contact him!

Time passed swiftly.

Three days went by in the blink of an eye.

During these three days, Kalifa barely slept. She spent almost every moment in Sengoku's office, hoping to receive news about Roya as soon as possible.

"Brrrring~"

The Den Den Mushi in Sengoku's office rang.

Kalifa instantly rushed to the desk, staring at the Den Den Mushi with anticipation, praying for good news about Roya.

Without hesitation, Sengoku answered the call.Only the voice of the intelligence officer came through the Den Den Mushi, "Reporting to Fleet Admiral, we've searched the coordinates for an entire day but found no trace of the island. It's as if the island vanished into thin air."

Hearing this, Sengoku's heart sank. If they couldn't find the island at the designated coordinates, it meant the island must have sunk into the sea!

As expected, when Kalifa heard this news, her vision darkened. Nearly fainting, she slumped weakly onto the sofa.

Muttering to herself, she said, "No... this can't be! Roya couldn't possibly be in danger! Roya is so strong—even if Whitebeard Jr. were more powerful, he still couldn't defeat Roya!"

At this thought, a flash of intense resentment flickered in Kalifa's eyes. This resentment was directed at herself—if only she had been stronger back then, strong enough to help Roya!

Strength!

She needed even greater strength!

With this resolve, Kalifa decided to make the most of her time. She firmly believed Roya would be fine, but she wouldn't just sit around waiting. She would seize every opportunity to grow stronger.

"Fleet Admiral, I heard there's a special intelligence division competition coming up soon. I want to sign up!"

Sengoku was momentarily taken aback but quickly nodded in understanding. "I'll register you. Also, if there's any news about Roya, I'll notify you immediately."

Kalifa replied, "Thank you, Fleet Admiral."

With that, she stepped out of Sengoku's office. As soon as she exited, she spotted a woman with pink hair.

"Kalifa, Tina was looking for you," Tina said.

Kalifa lifted her clear, emotionless eyes and softly responded, "Tina, if you're asking where Roya is, I don't know either. I'm waiting for him to return."

She then walked past Tina, only to hear Tina say, "Tina also believes Roya will be fine. Tina trusts him too. But Tina feels uneasy right now. Hearing you were in the Fleet Admiral's office, Tina wanted to invite you to the training grounds for a fight!"

A glint flashed in Kalifa's eyes. The corners of her lips curled slightly as she immediately replied, "Let's go. The training grounds sound perfect—I could use a fight to ease my mind right now!"

——

Meanwhile, Roya sat on the ship's railing, gazing down at the drifting clouds below. At this moment, he realized he hadn't brought a Den Den Mushi with him—after all, he never made a habit of carrying one. He usually left it on the battleship or had Kalifa hold onto it.

With a sigh, Roya murmured, "To keep Kalifa from worrying and Sengoku from growing suspicious, I'd better hurry to Ohara and drop off Weevil."

With that thought, Roya immediately adjusted the Talisman's power to maximum output. The massive Noah's Ark shot forward like an airship, swiftly heading toward Ohara...
