With slow steady steps she walked back to the full length mirror. Standing erect, her hands on her hips she drew in a deep breath as she spent a good amount of time observing her features.
Her lips curled up with satisfaction. Carefully she lifted a small bottle of perfume on the dressing table and spread it on the sensitive areas of her body—neck, wrist, armpits and her ankles.
"Emilie, you must not fail on this mission." She told the woman in the mirror.
Right from the time she discovered Lucian had accepted Emily despite the mistake in identity, she tried her very best to draw his attention to herself.
She had taken over several strategies over the weeks just to have his attention—hitting up on him at an eatery, running into him at the club…even to the point of showing up during his business meeting through his partners.
But no matter how hard she tries…the result had always been the same…Lucian had no interest in her.
