"Will you forgive me?"
'What an apology?' Emily huffed inwardly, yet she remained silent.
The fact that Lucian had managed to alight safely and still hadn't bothered responding to her messages had not gone down well with her.
She had spent the entire time wondering whether he had arrived safely, only to discover that he had apparently been too busy to spare even a few seconds to let her know.
Getting no response from her, Lucian sighed helplessly. "Babe, I am really sorry. I know I was wrong."
"Do you really think you were wrong?" she finally asked, her voice carrying a faint hint of displeasure.
"Yes," he answered readily. "I know I was wrong. Please forgive me."
Emily swallowed softly. Although she had heard his apology, she still could not bring herself to accept it completely.
There was an irritating heaviness in her chest that she could not quite explain.
