As the figure drew closer, Qi Guangxing recognized him clearly.
"Xu Fu."
"You're that mutant Xu Fu?" Qi Guangxing was startled. He hadn't expected Xu Fu to come to the Shouhe Society's headquarters. Morning or not, no one would dare openly attack him here. Yet Xu Fu had not only come—he had already killed several samurai of the Shouhe Society along the way.
Qi Guangxing was shocked by Xu Fu's power, though he knew there was always a reason for a mutant's abilities. Many mutants had hidden tricks, and Qi Guangxing had long been mentally prepared for such contingencies.
But how had Xu Fu even found this place? The headquarters of the Shouhe Society was a highly secretive location—few people knew of it.
"Could it be that Shiroya Shou leaked the information?" A name flashed through Qi Guangxing's mind.
He shook his head. The 31st house in the city had blown up Shiroya's safehouse, killing him in the process. There was no way Shiroya could have told Xu Fu anything. Qi Guangxing trusted Shiroya Shou's loyalty implicitly.
Xu Fu stepped fully into the room, eyes fixed on the old man. "You are Qi Guangxing, commander of the Shouhe Society."
"Where do you know me from?" Qi Guangxing asked, his tone indifferent.
He hadn't expected Xu Fu to know him personally. As the commander of the Shouhe Society, Qi Guangxing rarely revealed himself to the public. Few people knew his identity.
"I know from Shiroya Shou," Xu Fu said calmly, "he told me everything."
Qi Guangxing's eyes flickered. "There's no reason for Shiroya Shou to betray the Society… and he's dead anyway."
"I have no doubt that Shiroya Shou is loyal," Xu Fu spread his hands. "I only know what he told me."
"It's definitely a trick of yours," Qi Guangxing said, staring at Xu Fu intently.
"Perhaps," Xu Fu replied, expression neutral. "But Your Excellency Qi, now this room is full of warriors—do you want them to attack, or should we leave first?"
"Get out of here!" Qi Guangxing roared.
A gust of wind sounded, and the nearby samurai retreated. These warriors were stronger than the ones Xu Fu had faced before. From their movements, many things could be inferred about their skill.
"What brings you here, Xu Fu?" Qi Guangxing asked. Xu Fu had come alone, so Qi Guangxing suspected no tricks yet.
"I came here because the ones who want me dead are part of Hydra," Xu Fu said.
"Sorry, the Shouhe Society cannot reveal the identity of the person who issued the order. It's our discipline," Qi Guangxing said slowly.
"Discipline," Xu Fu repeated, knowing that if the name were revealed, the Society could survive. Otherwise… only death awaited.
Qi Guangxing's pupils constricted. "Even so, the Society's discipline cannot be bent. Do you really intend to destroy the Shouhe Society?"
"Perhaps," Xu Fu smiled lightly. "Even without your confirmation, I already suspected it—it must be Ophelia, the viper lady from Hydra."
Qi Guangxing didn't hide his recognition. Xu Fu had guessed correctly—this was indeed Ophelia's doing. Hydra's Eastern Dwarf Country branch had little interaction with Xu Fu, and Ophelia was the only connection.
"Now that you know who harmed you, can you reconcile with the Shouhe Society?" Qi Guangxing asked with a smile.
"Reconciliation isn't why I came," Xu Fu replied, grinning. "I plan to eradicate the Shouhe Society."
"Relying on one person alone?" Qi Guangxing laughed.
"No," Xu Fu said lightly. "I believe you have some defensive measures. But the Chijiao Group has blocked the area—you should know that."
A black light flashed in Qi Guangxing's palm, aiming for Xu Fu's eyes. Xu Fu shifted slightly, evading the hidden weapon.
"Boom." The weapon—a kunai—pierced the structure.
Qi Guangxing lunged, short knife in hand, aiming at Xu Fu's waist. It was his best tactic to seize control of the crisis.
But Xu Fu was prepared. He grabbed Qi Guangxing's palm and twisted, throwing him across the room.
Qi Guangxing collided with a table; chaos erupted. The scene was messy, but Xu Fu remained calm, poised, and in control.
