Chapter 13 - Adventure 12: The Heaven Over Hell

Flying through the rift, Iramo felt as if he had been teleported to a whole new world. Getting his first look at Centria. Seeing the base of the mountains shaped like twin flowers with spiraling roots. Towering above the ground, they reached higher into the sky with petals perfectly intertwined standing tall. Creating walls for the hidden beauty it carried deep within – Centria. A massive land filled with life as far as the eye can see. With endless unique buildings spread across the lands. Each one telling its own story.

Such a difference from the world I was met with when I first opened my eyes. Is it really the same? Even the land beneath the mountains has no monsters in sight. Such a blissful place so full of opportunity and life. I wonder what else this lovely place has to offer me?

Taken back by the sight of Centria's beauty, Iramo questions Saranai as he's captivated by the sight.

"Are you sure you want to leave here? This safe haven is far away from the shit show going on outside. Between all the blood lusted creatures that roam outside this place and the lands caving in I don't see how you'd want to leave this place if it's not for the stars."

Saranai, rolling her eyes, looks at Cerinta with a heavy heart. Staring with eyes that know a truth, a burden to big share.

"It definitely beats dying to the Devion's sure but this place is nothing more than a tiny fraction of everything there is out there, keeping me locked away. There's so much more to explore in this world while I'm alive! So many more things to experience! Yet I'm stuck here where the strong have a voice and the weak are never free."

With building resentment in her eyes she tells a story of the land with her gaze alone. She's see this place as a prison not a home.

"That's why things must change, we have to set ourselves free. Nobody deserves to be a slave all their life… not them and not me."

Filled with deep, burning passion in her voice, Saranai looks Iramo straight in his eyes.

"To claim all life has to offer, No to- to truly live! I won't be another weakling at the mercy of anyone. I'll show them even the weakest of us can grow to be strong. Stronger than all of them. No… stronger than anyone! Because I'll have the strength to be myself and no matter what anybody says, that is real strength. The ONLY strength that should matter."

Listening intently, Iramo stretches his right hand out and pats her on her head. Trying to sooth the building frustration in her eyes and calm her mind as he find the right words to say.

"No strength besides your own will ever matter, you have to truly believe in yourself. As long as you have the will to keep going no matter what happens. No matter what anyone says. No matter how weak you are, you WILL grow strong. No matter how far you've fallen you will come back, going further than ever before."

Watching her expression soften as she melts into his arms, Iramo reassures Saranai with great confidence as he raises his other hand to the sky pointing to a stars and all the planets far past the sky.

"As long as you're alive, you will always have another chance to make your mark in another world-"

Realizing he was holding Saranai, Iramo looks down to the ground, watching her plummeting right down to Centria. With a look of shock in his eyes as he hears her screams get further and further away.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

Bawling her eyes out as she sees the ground getting closer and closer, Saranai covers her eyes, Screaming to Iramo for help.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DROPPED ME!!! I CAN'T DIE LIKE THIS! I'M TOO PRETTY! I HAVEN'T EVEN GOT MARRIED YET! No, NO, NOOO!!!!"

Throwing his body backwards and allowing his weight to sink him down as he gives himself a boost from the wind, Iramo dives down to Saranai as fast as he can. Trying to reach out and grab her hand but he passes right through.

Shit! I'm not solid how do I get her out of the sky? Think… think… THINK! I got it a flying fist should work if I give it more weight. Okay focus… really focus — close your eyes and open your mind.

Gathering the wind rapidly, he forms a massive flying fist, packing it tightly with enough air to drag the cloud down to the ground as he matches his feet to the pace of the wind.

Perfect! now I just need to grab her and keep my feet in place but I'm not low enough yet! She's falling faster I still need more weight.

Racing to reach her before she hits the ground, Iramo makes the winds within the flying fist more compact until its sinking straight down, cutting right through the winds. Giving him just the boost he needs to reach her speed.

She's just a bit further out than I am and there's no time to waste. Fuck it! I'm winging it, it will be okay!

Tying the wrappings of the flying fist to his feet, making a make shift rope to give him just enough reach, Iramo stretches his hands out grabbing onto Saranai's waist and pulling her into his chest.

Got you! I won't let you fall! I just have to be a little more creative next time. Before you know… bringing someone else along for a ride."

Crying into his chest, Saranai holds on tight digging her hands into Iramo's chest, making him slightly wince at the pain of his wounds.

"NEVER AGAIN! You won't get me to set foot onto that death trap with you! Never! Again!"

Struggling to control his speed Iramo, tries to focus again as he reassures Saranai, ignoring the pain.

"Well it's not a death trap if we both survive and I'm the guiding us so we'll- you'll definitely get home safe! Oh… actually where am I going again?"

Fixing her shirt as he stares blankly at the ground quickly closing in, Saranai directs him in a sassy tone.

"WE need to SAFELY get to the ground! Then I can guide us from there!"

With no idea how to slow down in time Iramo thinks Iramo answers her with false confidence.

"Oh! Yeah, uhh no- no problem, pshhh I can do that!"

I CANNOT do that! But damn it, I've come too far to just splatter across the ground! Now think Iramo! Think! How do I stop myself? Oh yeah! I can turn into the wind. But Saranai would definitely fall and I can't catch her this close down.

Seeing the ground get closer and closer, he makes up his mind to do the first thing to pop up in his head.

Fuck it no time! First time for everything, I got this! Just gotta be creative- er? This time? Yeah! I can do this believeeeeeee!

Staring at the flying fist an idea pops into Iramo's head and he acts on it right away, immediately jump into a crazy craft as he closes his eyes.

I'll release all the built up pressure gradually so Saranai doesn't get split in two. While I make another hand to grab onto the fist to slow it down as much as I can. As long as I can slow the landing enough I can get down to Centria alive — with Saranai of course.

"Perfect! Now let's see how well it works out."

Holding onto Saranai tightly, Iramo channeled his animus deep withing his body, gathering all the clouds in the sky and guiding them with his right hand. He himself had no true understanding of his effect on the sky and without realizing it had bent its power to his will again, reshaping the clouds into a massive rising hand casting a giant shadow of the sky. Folding back three finger to cradle them and leaving two point right at Centria's crown. Iramo became fully focuses zoning out all things except the Song Of The Sky and the pace of the wind. Using every ounce of his focus to slow them down.

Forever making a mark on this world with his actions today as a man dressed in a ragged blue cloak with black armor stained red, slowly lifts his head to the sky. Offering nothing but a faint chuckle as he lowers his gaze and begins adjusting the pulsating prism resting in the palm of his hand right hand, resonating with eyes as he raises it high to the sky. Faintly waving as he walks off with a flicker of dark animus rolling over his bright green eye.

Fading into the shadows as he blends into the crowd of egarly survivors running around panicked, scrambling to look at the change in the sky. They couldn't make it out well but they saw someone above the clouds, standing in the sky as they ran through the walk ways towards the end of the land. But to their surprise it was no Devion… it was just a man. A single survivor with enough power to change the world alone.

To some he was symbol, to others he was a lie… but to those who sat at the top he was a bothersome fly. One who's weight needs to be kept in check. But those who sit at the top choose to make no move yet gave a single command.

"Upon his arrival — arrest that man."
