Staring intently into sky, he felt the pressure shift in the air then it all just went away, like it was pulled to the side. Iramo watched closely as the space before him shattered, vanishing right before his eyes as the sky peels away. Leaving a sliver of green animus in its place with something more inside.
An ominous animus that seemed to stretch on forever in his eye. A dark purple place filled with stars, more than he'd ever seen in the sky. But Instead of fearing it how she expected, he had hope in his eyes.
It's beautiful look, and it's so much better than despair.
Taking advantage of the moment she teases him as she twist her hair.
"You know if your interested in the stars, I can take you there."
Snapping his head back as fast as he can, Iramo looks at her in the eyes, opening his mouth wide, shouting as fast as he can.
"I'M INTERESTED BOSS LADY! PLEASE TAKE ME! I HAVE SEE THE STAR!"
Giggling as she pushes his face back with her hand, she looks at Iramo with a playful look in her eyes.
"hmmm I'll take you but before I do, I need to know your name. We can't work together if I don't know who you are."
She's got a good point actually, maybe I should ask hers too.
"My names Iramo, whats yours?"
Thinking to herself as she watches therift grow brighter in the sky, she softens her tone as she reply's.
"Nice to meet you Iramo, my names Saranai. I'll tell you all about the plan but first we need to go into that rift in the sky."
Looking into the green expanse of animus tearing the sky, holding a purple void inside, Iramo doubles back with confusing in his face.
"Can we even survive that? It's going right into space."
Well maybe she can, it might be diffrent for her race. But I know damn well I can't breath. Wait actually maybe I can? Ya know I've never tried. What if its the same as exploring the sky.
Wave her hands before his eyes with no reply, Saranai flicks Iramo on the side of head.
"Hey! Don't over think it, did you even hear what I just said? You'll be okay its a different dimension inside, you become purely animus in there."
A pure state of energy on a different plane, its like a new dimension you can access with your brain.
"Unless your running low on it, you have nothing to fear and from what I can tell your nowhere near. So let's go forward and get out of here."
With each step he takes forward he feel the rift draw him, echoing a warm, calming voice calling to him as his form begins to change. Rearranging their forms and changing the chemistry in his brain. Flashing memories of the stars traveling across the sky at the speed of light, he bared his eyes on the birth of the worlds and how they've changed. The merging of stars who've long forgotten their names.
Endless wonders spanning across the many stars in the sky, dispite it all Iramo reaches out and grabs onto Saranai. Seeing … everything replace the little sky he knows, Iramo reforms as pure animus, taking an intangible shape that sees all things as they are. Even The Nexus and all of its scars. Iramo finds himself wandering deeper into the Junction Of The Forgotten Stars until he hears her voice call to him from afar.
"Iramo remember not to go to far! If get lost and run out of animus you'll be trapped here, among the stars!"
I was right to pick him, he's drawn to the stars. I don't think I've ever seen anyone go so far.
Right as he heads back to Saranai he hears a faint but powerful voice from a far, accompanied by a gargantuan star.
"You should listen to her, it's too early for you to be bound to this place. Remember why your here and do what you have to for now. One day you'll be back and by then he'll show you how."
Appearing before Saranai, he observes the path in between the stars leading to the other side. Watching many animi merge with space and return to their sky. Iramo sought out the planets, looking for a way to return to home. But he couldn't find it with just his desire alone. He's missing the memories carrying the animus of that place. Without them he can only dream of his home world and search the many worlds among the stars.
"Your right Saranai I won't go too far. But what is this place? I don't recognize that star?"
Forming a hand, she stretching it back to the star.
"This is Rava Nine she's our world's star and she's also the reason we can travel so far. Even now our rifts are connected using the power of the stars, our animus just allows us to reach this place."
Dragging her hand down to the lines between the stars trickling down into the worlds around, Saranai Points to orbs of animus, circling the star in space.
"Each one of those orbs, those lines coming together, is another world that has discovered this place. Using the Web Of Worlds to travel all over stars."
"But If your strong enough, you can move freely and go far beyond the stars."
Letting the silence hang in the air for a moment, Saranai locks onto to the Rava Nine with a hint a hate in her eyes.
That's my dream … I want to be free to explore the skies of many worlds. To see what life is like where I'm seen as more than just some girl from a nameless place."
"I want to know what it's like to live, I don't care to survive. What good is it staying in a world where I don't even feel alive."
Stretching across the plane Iramo passes through her feeling all of her pain.
"If it hurts you that bad, it's time for a change."
"Lets travel the stars together! We could both use something strange."
He has no idea yet of the effect he's had and the way his words have changed her heart. In Saranai eyes he had become a pillar of light stretching far past the stars. He had become her symbol of hope, a messenger from beyond her sky. Bringing her so much joy she could almost cry even in her current form she reached to cover her eyes.
"Your right it is time for a change."
Interrupted by the inversion in space, they see a sliver of green animus form a rift. peering back into the sky.
"Looks like we're here but were definitely up too high. Don't overdo it but use your powers to SAFELY get us to the ground. Welcome to Centria! The biggest settlement in this land."
Reforming bit by bit their forms stabilize recreating their hands. Gradually reforming their limbs as they begins to feel warm of the air until their body begin to appear in the sky. Pushing them out into the world and resealing the space, the rift vanished from the sky not leaving a trace.
Interesting isn't it? The things people will do just to get by. I could only imagine myself taking a leap of faith into the sky.
