Chapter 20 - Adventure 19: Sleepless Dreamer

The void of The Nexus is where it all started and where it all will end. A boundless nothingness that has always been alone, without family nor friend. And it is this loneliness within the void that brought all that can be — to life. It made something out of nothing that's how we got the stars. Without it, not even Mr.J himself would get to far.

Because its within the deepest depths of nothing that he creates these realities, these worlds, these Stars that are all we know today! Even the Junction Of Dreams was carefully crafted by his hands long ago, I just keep chaos at bay. Speaking of which their having quite the insurgence today. So while I'd love to talk more, I really have to send you on your way. But I can tell you the boy will be okay.

The world itself gets heavier when you can't find your way, especially when you've been lost for days. But with everything on the line — somehow people find a way.

But I'm getting side tracked, so listen closely before I let you go.

Animus is true energy but! It isn't something you can grasp on the highest level without knowing what they truly are. It's impossible to use the right fuel without knowing your type of car. So naturally if you want to thrive in this place, you'll need to know what fits just right to burn bright like a star.

That's enough about animus for now, you'll learn more in due time. Now back to the story and make sure you listen with your mind.

Bellowing thunder, forced it way out of the sky as lightning began to rain upon the land. Pouring down strike after strike as rapid as the rain. While the clouds scream down to the ground with all their might. Washing away all but a single boy lying face first in the ground. Desperately pulling his head up from under the flooding dirt turning into mud under the wrath of the sky. Desperately gasping for air as he wipes the mud off his face.

"Wha- what the fuck?! How the h- hell do I just wake up and I'm… already about die?!"

Last thing I remember I was running away with Saranai. Then I came crashing down from out the sky and hit my head. Maybe the impact was too much for me, did I actually dead?

Grabbing onto his left hand with his right he swings it hard, slapping himself across the face and sending him landing on his back, reaching out to hold onto his jaw.

"URH! I'm definitely not dreaming, that felt pretty real to me!

Rising to his feet and getting a feel for the smooth slippery surface beneath his feet. Iramo stands looking into the trees that surround him, at the massive trail of stars looping over the sky. With a chilling wave of cool air, passing through his clothes shaking then around he took a deep breath and looked at his hands.

"But if this isn't Centria… just where did I land?"

Watching the droplets pour into his hands, Iramo acknowledged the rain and its steady pace. Falling one after another in synchronization across his hand. Each one of the droplets converged forming letters on his hands.

F… I… N… D — H… O… M… E.

Staring at the message in confusion he looks up to the sky as the droplets wash away.

"Home? Is that where I am? No. You said find it but how can I get back to a place I don't know?"

After a long silence the wind blows by him but it carries no sound, it just gently blows before him, carrying leaves off of the ground and deeper into the forest floating in the air as he watches it fly.

"OH! That's the way to go? I'm coming wait for me!"

Running behind the blowing leaves, deep into the forest, Iramo nimbly moves over the large tree roots and weaves between hanging branches. Dipping and dodging through the trees as he quickens his pace, racing to catch up to the leaves.

Damn this winds strong but I'm more than fast. If I don't lose sight of it- Fuck.

With an explosive gust the leaves take a sharp turn down and split the land, dropping Iramo down into a pitch black chasm with a light shining from below. Carrying up a bright blue light with the winds rushing up from down below. Echoing a faint but familiar voice's words through the wind, whistling in his ear.

"Don't question it for now, just follow the path. You'll be safe in here."

Confused as he may be, Iramo trusted in the voice and closed his eyes, embracing the warm winds that surround him. Pulling him down into the blue light, swallowing him whole. Leaving not a trace behind as he sinks into the light and opens his eyes.

To a peculiar sight of a man dressed in red staring an enemy down with pure malice in his eyes, holding a purple blade with a fiery glow in his trembling hand, shaking with rage.

"I don't have time for this. Hurry up so I can put you back in your cage."

Without noticing the change, Iramo fly's up to the sky feeling a soft, gentle hand press down on his head as tears began to form in his eyes.

"Don't worry, your fathers strong and crazy about us he won't fall today. And if things start to look rough mom will jump in and save the day!"

The mind has strange ways of showing us the past. For some its a symbol representing a better time. But for others its a cycle of their worst moments coming back to haunt them again overtime.
