Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: Battle of the Homelanders

Whoosh!

Homelander's punch missed, breaking the sound barrier. The force of the punch tore through the air, causing waves on the beach to surge tens of meters high from a distance, falling like raindrops, as if bombed by torpedoes.

Ron transformed into an afterimage, passing him at nearly thirty times the speed of sound. A flash of a blade, a razor-sharp edge, made a piercing sound as it cut across Homelander's vital abdomen.

The sensation from the blade caused a slight frown.

Bang!

In a flash, the two turned around, once again tearing the ground, and charged at each other as two afterimages.

"From childhood, I've always suppressed my strength because everything on Earth, whether hard stone or steel, is too fragile for me, like a sandcastle that collapses with a touch."

Homelander's punching power grew stronger and stronger. It started at tens of thousands of tons, then increased, each punch like a mountain crashing down, carrying terrifying force.

"In my normal state, especially in the city, I only control a hundred tons of power, which is enough to handle everything. But today, you will witness my true strength."

His face was distorted as he continuously attacked with his fists, which were as heavy as mountains, forcing layers of air aside.

"You will know why there has only ever been one Homelander on Earth!"

Homelander's punching power was terrifying.

But Ron's speed was more than twice as fast as his, and Homelander's attacks that could land on him were few and far between.

Even when they did hit him, the power attached to his fists, like the explosion of thousands of tons of TNT, was immediately absorbed.

The blade flashed like lightning, striking Homelander's body multiple times.

After dozens of exchanges, Homelander's battle suit quickly fell to pieces, but his body was unharmed.

Rip!

"There's actually a metal on Earth I don't know about…"

Dozens of meters apart, the two suddenly stopped. Homelander hovered, casually tearing off the shattered, bulletproof, sturdy battle suit from his upper body. His muscular body, built like steel, exuded a fierce and powerful aura, and he said disdainfully,

"—But it's still far from hurting me."

"As expected, it's not enough."

Ignoring his words, Ron was expressionless, not even looking at the Adamantium long blade.

The next moment, he casually threw the Adamantium blade like trash. It shot through the air for hundreds of meters, embedding itself like a bolt of lightning into a distant, dark cliff on the island, the blade sinking all the way to the hilt.

"If the blade isn't enough, try my fists!"

Energy flames ignited around him, his legs slightly bent, and he leaped forward like an arrow from a bow, ready to kill.

Boom!

The ground could not bear this force, and a sunken pit, tens of meters wide, appeared like a scar on the beach.

His speed was incredibly fast. The scarlet figure arrived in an instant, swinging his fist and striking heavily on Homelander's head.

Homelander reacted too slowly, like a baseball hit at extreme speed, his head thrown back as his body flew horizontally towards the horizon. He was forced to break the sound barrier, instantly pierced through the clouds, and flew straight up thousands of meters into the sky.

Bang! Bang!

With this strike, visible airwaves spread rapidly up and down. The sea surface was pressed down, stirring up huge waves.

Whoosh!

Scarlet plasma energy enveloped him, propelling him like a meteor with an elongated fiery tail.

The wind howled in his ears. Ron's eyes were cold as he rapidly pursued, breaking through dozens of times the speed of sound. He flashed above Homelander and slammed down another punch.

Homelander raised his arm to block, but was blasted down heavily onto the island.

Rumble!

The entire deserted island shook violently.

Homelander's body smashed a large crater in the middle of the dense forest on the island. The rising Earth waves were like a tsunami, surging tens of meters high, submerging and crushing trees.

His speed was ultimately much slower than Ron's.

"Kid, you've angered me!"

The next second, a disheveled Homelander burst out of the pit, flew at extreme speed to Ron, and, enraged, twisted his body and swung his arm to strike.

The terrifying power in his fist was enough to easily split any aircraft carrier on Earth in half.

Ron also swung his fist, unleashing the powerful kinetic energy surging within him like a tidal wave.

Bang!

The two fists collided in the air, like a fuel-air bomb dropped into the atmosphere!

A fierce wind raged, affecting several miles. The lush forest on the island was flattened by the solid-like airwaves, and the topsoil was ripped away, as if a typhoon had passed through.

"Your punches don't seem as powerful as your anger suggests!"

Steadily taking a punch, Ron, with a cold expression, punched again, continuously exchanging blows with Homelander in the air, exploding the air and stirring up rolling airwaves.

Homelander's punches, when they hit him, had their kinetic energy absorbed, feeling like a light breeze. But Ron's punches, when they hit Homelander, always sent him flying like a baseball, back and forth.

Even in the air, Homelander's speed was inferior to his.

In the comics, Alex's ability allows him to envelop himself in plasma energy for propulsion, reaching up to the speed of light. The X-Men Universe version isn't that exaggerated, but it can reach a maximum of a hundred times the speed of sound.

His previous neural speed couldn't react, so he could only fly in a straight line in the open sky and couldn't use it in combat. But now, with the added extremely fast reflex nerves, it's no longer a problem!

Ron abandoned the Adamantium blade and fought Homelander bare-handed.

He had tried many times; Adamantium was indeed not as hard as Homelander's body.

It was like trying to cut high-density rubber with a dull plastic knife—too tough to break through.

"Besides, using a blade isn't conducive to the full display of my abilities."

Looking at his fist, Ron once again rapidly charged forward, unleashing punches to release the absorbed kinetic energy for attack. Although he appeared to be steadily gaining the upper hand, maintaining a relaxed and effortless demeanor in the battle,

It was actually due to his ability.

If he didn't get hurt, it was fine, but if he did, it would be a severe injury that would tear his body apart, followed by a relentless pursuit.

"Even if it seems easy, I can't be careless in the slightest."

The two figures fiercely battled, airwaves surging like tides, and thunderous roars echoed far and wide, both in the sky and on the ground.

...

Vought Corporation, 82nd floor.

In CEO Edgar's office, Vice President Madeline, accompanied by several technical staff, burst in frantically, urgently saying,

"Mr. Edgar, the investigation department reported to me this morning that Homelander asked for Dark Star's address. According to the tracker on him, he went to find Dark Star.

The two had a conflict."

Madeline quickly pressed the remote control, and a blurry street surveillance video was uploaded to the large screen in the office. It vaguely showed Homelander angrily grabbing Ron's collar on an overhead balcony, saying something, while Ron was expressionless and indifferent.

"They're fighting?"

Immediately putting down his documents, Edgar quickly sat up, his expression suddenly becoming serious.

If it were just a verbal dispute, Madeline wouldn't have come to him so anxiously.

"According to the tracker, Homelander and Dark Star subsequently appeared on a deserted island in the Atlantic Ocean, covering nearly a hundred square kilometers, named Raisengol Island."

Members of The Seven usually have trackers implanted in their bodies. Dark Star refused to accept one, and Homelander's skin couldn't be penetrated by anything. However, Vought installed a tracker in Homelander's belt.

Vought technicians had already located the two through the trackers.

"Satellite connected, Ms. Madeline."

The technical staff quickly operated the computer, and the satellite connected to the office screen.

Vought's extraterrestrial orbital satellite focused on Raisengol deserted island in the Atlantic Ocean.

"This… this is too exaggerated!"

When they saw the scene on the island, several technical staff couldn't help but gulp, their expressions stunned.
