The two skeletons slowly walked forward as they tilted their skulls in confusion.
Seeing this, Luck tried to send his intentions towards them. They couldn't talk, and explaining it would be a hassle, so he took a different approach.
Unsurprisingly, it worked. As summoner and summoned, they shared a strange connection.
The two picked it up. Asher glanced at the two axes with curiosity, then at Luck.
Luck grinned in response. Though Asher was used to wielding a sword in one hand, Luck had just discovered he could alter his summons' paths, and he honestly believed a spear fit his Firstborn.
Because of his soul damage, he appeared best suited for a task requiring greater reach.
(So the spear was the answer.) He thought as he watched the Skeleton Fighter awkwardly brandish his new weapon.
Something strange happened.
The items flashed brightly as they began to change color.
Luck watched in amazement as the silver-colored metals rapidly began to change to a deep black.
Before the process could finish, though, they exploded into a rain of sparks, immediately entering the chests of the two skeletons.
(Well, that was unexpected.) Luck mused.
The violent shaking of the ground commenced again, signifying the approach of Gard and his mechanical behemoths.
"I believe these are for you," the dwarf said succinctly. Luck nodded in response, making Gard scoff. "I never knew the day when this would leave my hands would come. Your choice of weapons is just baffling."
Luck shrugged in response, "Just trying something new."
Gard managed not give him an incredulous look as Luck appraised what was in front of him.

Luck looked at the pieces of equipment with a dumbfounded expression. Then he looked at Gard with the same look.
(I think his brain might have shut down) He thought. Instead of being concerned, though, he let out a hearty laugh.
Luckily, that seemed to have wiped him out of his reverie.
"Old man, I think you might be my fairy godparent. With this, I'm not sure I might have to worry about battling Gamma and Echo ranks."
Gard chuckled with mirth, "Make sure you tell me about it when you do. I can't wait to brag to the others that my customer can beat up Echo ranks while just being a Zulu."
Luck gave a strange look." I'm a Meta-ranked.
Gard sneered, "Sure ki-"
Gard stared at Luck. The kid was telling the truth. Since the kid entered the shop, he hadn't bothered to gauge him, assuming he would still be at the very beginning, since the village kids just went through their ceremony today.
"Did you bully the other newbies into giving you their spoils?"
Luck chuckled. I would like to say that I'm offended, but I get why you would think that." Luck shook his head. "No, I just awakened earlier than the rest of my peers."
Gard blinked for a second as he muttered under his breath about enjoying the perks of being the chief's son.
Luck was honestly confused. (I wonder why everyone thinks of me as a second-generation wastrel.)
"Actually, my parents had nothing to do with my awakening. It's a long story."
Gard was silent for some time, then sighed in exasperation, "Well, at least I still have something to brag about to the others."
Luck's lips twitched, but he said nothing as he picked up his gear off the floor.
Just like Asher and Freya's, his began to change as well. He watched with fascination as the structure of the clothes altered to fit his size.
The cloak, gloves, pants, boots, and shirt remained black, only gaining several red accents.
The mask, however, took a much more drastic change than that. He watched as the faceless oval mask changed into that of a fox. Its formerly absent eyes became glassy, offering a perspective on the world. Then they exploded into a rain of sparks, disappearing into his body.
"You have good taste for a lad," Gard said with a faint smile.
Luck looked at him, "I didn't choose it."
"Then fate did it for you."
"I don't think I appreciate fate making my decisions for me," Luck retorted derisively, making the dwarf let out a dry chuckle.
"What's done is done, lad."
Luck glanced at him again. He shrugged, "I suppose. Anyway, thanks again. I never knew I was lucky enough to meet someone who gives away quality armor like Christmas presents."
Gard's lips twitched, seeing the sly smile that had appeared on Luck's face, but he played along.
"That's why I'm a Grand Blacksmith. By the way, you still have one more free item, you know?"
Luck waved a hand, "I'll use it any time I come back."
"Sure. See ya, kid."
"Bye"
He dismissed Asher and Freya on his way out.
