While they rushed to Viktor who was shot in the shoulder, Viktor yelled at them and told them to engage the people shooting. His voice came out rough and sharp, cutting through the sudden chaos. "Don't look at me! Engage! Now!"
Nico and Harlan froze for half a second, eyes wide at the blood spreading across Viktor's coat. Then instinct kicked in. Nico spun around, pistol already up, scanning the shadows between the warehouses. Harlan dropped to one knee, drawing his sidearm and sweeping the perimeter.
Viktor pressed his good hand against the wound, blood seeping between his fingers. He gritted his teeth and barked again, "They had us surrounded! We thought the yard was clear. We were wrong. Move!"
