Chapter 7 - Jorax is home alone (bonus chapter)

"Come on, Alexandria, I have other things to do today," Dazai says, standing by the door with his arms crossed.

"Cool your balls, mortal. It's not like you have anything better to do today," Alexandria fires back as she strolls up casually.

"Yes, I do!!" Dazai shouts, voice sharp with irritation.

"Ok, like what?" she smirks, dripping sarcasm.

"Like… like…"

"That's what I thought," Alexandria laughs as she walks out the door.

"That bitch!!" Dazai growls, face twisting in annoyance.

"Where are you guys going, master?" Jorax asks as she peeks out.

"Oh, Jorax here says she wants to go to an amusement park for some reason, and now she's forcing me to go with her," Dazai mutters, clearly pissed.

"Again, you have nothing better to do!!" Alexandria shouts from outside.

"Shut up!!" Dazai shouts back before turning to Jorax. "So, Yh, I need you to look after the house while we're gone, ok? You can watch TV."

"Ok, master. I'm going to miss you though, so hurry back," Jorax says as she steps close and kisses him.

"I'll try not to," Dazai smiles faintly.

"Bring your ass down here, mortal!!" Alexandria yells from outside.

"I'm coming!!" Dazai says, rushing downstairs.

The two of them leave, the sound of the door echoing shut.

"Since I'm alone, I guess I should clean up the house first. It's a mess," Jorax sighs, grabbing a broom.

Hours seem to drag by before she slumps down on the couch, wiping sweat off her forehead. "Woah, that was a lot."

She sits for a moment, then perks up. "What to do now… ooh, I know."

Jorax heads into Dazai's room, eyes falling on the packed shelves.

"Master's mangas. He wouldn't mind me reading some," she says, pulling a few down.

"One Piece."

"This looks interesting," she says, laying on his bed and flipping through the pages.

After a long stretch of reading, she closes the book, stunned. "That's the best piece of fiction I've ever read. Oh my, master has good taste."

Her stomach rumbles. "Haven't had anything to eat yet. I guess I'll make an omelette—it shouldn't be that hard. Master taught me yesterday." She heads into the kitchen, tying up her hair.

But panic hits quick. "Oh no, oh no, how do I stop the fire?!" Jorax yells, waving her arms as the pan bursts into flames. She bolts to the bathroom, fills a bucket, and dumps the water.

The flames hiss out, leaving smoke in the air.

"I guess that means no food till master comes back," she pouts, disappointed.

Shuffling to the couch, she grabs the remote and flicks on the TV. "That witch is always hugging the television—I guess I should see what she's watching."

"The Walking Dead? …I'm sure it's bad," Jorax mutters, but she presses play anyway.

Five hours later

"We're back, Jorax. Hope you didn't miss me too mu—" Dazai starts, stepping inside, but freezes when he sees her.

Jorax is buried under a blanket, eyes glued to the TV, the room pitch dark except for the flicker of the screen.

"Why is here so dark?" Alexandria asks, flicking the light switch on.

"Walkers!!" Jorax screams, clutching the blanket tighter.

Dazai and Alexandria glance at each other… and instantly burst into laughter.
