Chapter 327: Secondary World
While Kaito Shirogane was immersed in his crazy, masochistic training, the Reincarnators in the Infinite Dimensional Space and various places in the real world hadn't stopped their steps either.
The news that [The Final Empire]—the first 'home' belonging to Reincarnators, representing this empire of superhumans who had completely severed ties with their former real lives—had clashed fiercely with multiple forces in multiple countries spread to every corner of the Space through various channels.
But this news was far from the only thing astonishing the Reincarnators.
In a massive Team Space somewhere, a gigantic white palace stood on a wasteland, shining with the glow of magic everywhere.
This was a colossal palace capable of accommodating tens of thousands of people, with all team facilities distributed within its internal space.
In the very center of the palace existed a 'Non-Existent Room' with absolutely no entrances or exits. This was the true core area that only the few most senior members of the [Far East Magic Society] were qualified to enter.
This powerful team, spanning the Second and Third Ladders, made their decisions here.
The person at the head of the huge long table had medium-length white hair, their gender indistinguishable, with one red eye and one blue eye. Sitting in the first seat on the left was the [Snow Witch], who had once appeared before Kaito. Below her sat the [Treant], wearing a priest's robe with a cross on his chest.
The Treant had been hunting Balrog and wanted to enter the Pirate World at that time to participate in that massive team battle mission, but was dissuaded by the Snow Witch.
Now, he tapped on the table and spoke:
"A new [Secondary World] has appeared. The initial entrants were a temporary team with a comprehensive evaluation at the [Strong] tier. They were wiped out."
The Snow Witch also cast her gaze over. The mission worlds where the Infinite Dimensional Space deployed Reincarnators were divided into three types.
The first type, [Derivative World], was a world derived from a story, legend, or even a mystery.
This was the type of world Reincarnators were deployed into most often, and for the vast majority of Reincarnators, the only type of mission world they could enter until death.
The difficulty of such worlds was relatively predictable. As long as Reincarnators had been exposed to the original story, anime, or movie, they possessed an innate intelligence advantage.
Unless special circumstances were encountered, the world didn't change much upon initial entry. It basically progressed along a certain timeline, mixing in story backgrounds of the same worldview according to the different timelines.
Until the timeline and storyline were completely destroyed beyond recognition by batches of entering Reincarnators, and the Derivative World eventually collapsed, unable to produce useful [Information] anymore, it would be abolished and no longer receive Reincarnators.
The second type was the [Secondary World] mentioned by the Treant.
Compared to Derivative Worlds, Secondary Worlds were on another dimension. Not just on the timeline level, but various different worldviews—either due to paradoxes or continuous erosion by the Infinite Dimensional Space—overlapped, collided, and finally merged.
Thus, an overly massive new world was born. Such worlds integrated a huge amount of [Information], and that excessive information influenced each other, ultimately producing new secondary information. Hence, they were called [Secondary Worlds].
Secondary Worlds were more dangerous and chaotic. The Reincarnator's 'prophet advantage' was significantly weakened; they could no longer grasp the rhythm of events based on the previous plotline and would encounter unpredictable dangers at any time.
Correspondingly, the massive amount of information and complex environment of a Secondary World would weave more and higher-level Singularities, producing more powerful items and abilities.
It was a world type pursued by almost every high-tier team.
The last type of world deployment was called the [Primal World]. That was a legend of the Space, a secret within secrets. In the Far East Magic Society, only the Guild Master [Solomon] knew the mysteries of the Primal World.
"Was there a seed you shepherded in that team?"
The Treant possessed a very secretive and disgusting ability. He could inject a certain power into other Reincarnators or plot characters and interfere with their cognition. Before that power matured, it would manifest in the form of a [Gift].
For example, some would awaken a certain superpower, some would seem to have an external brain answering their questions, and some would gain strange enhancements to their physical fitness. Various phenomena made it impossible for those Reincarnators or plot characters to judge whether the thing identified by the Space as a [Seed of Power] was good or bad.
To get an answer from the Goddess, one must possess permissions above a 2-Star Reincarnator. The targets chosen by the Treant were mostly guys who had just left the rookie stage.
So far, most of the targets he eyed, except for Balrog who escaped the hook, had become his puppets or died.
Simultaneously, the seeds shepherded by the Treant allowed him to know more intelligence. The Snow Witch wanted to know the source of the news, but the Treant didn't answer.
The Far East Magic Society had a very 'flat' decision-making style. Except for Guild Master [Solomon] who had veto power, other high-level members only had the right to suggest.
The Treant just looked at Solomon and reiterated his idea.
"Not just me, other gatherings and teams also received the news. I believe the next round of mission deployments will be on a large scale. We should prepare early."
He spoke very logically in the Space, but once out of the Space, he would become uncontrollably mad.
Solomon leaned back in his chair. The person sitting on his right had the avatar of a blond boy, shirtless with a golden sun emblem on his chest. He was the number two figure of the Far East Magic Society, [King].
"Those who want to go, go try. Anyway, looking at you guys, tsk, each one wearing complacency on your face, heh..."
"I just did a divination. That world is very dangerous. Perhaps quite a few Title Level Reincarnators will fall this time. Hope to see you at the next meeting, Little Treant~"
[King] teased the Treant, waved his hand, and teleported away on his own. Clearly, he didn't plan to get involved.
Solomon glanced at his companions on both sides of the long table and finally spoke:
"Even-numbered seats may go."
The Snow Witch froze. Solomon probably meant that at most half of the members could go. Compared to [King]'s unreliable prophecy magic, she trusted Boss Solomon more, who mastered some time-based magic-side ability.
Her expression shifted, and she closed her eyes, deciding not to compete.
The Treant stood up, bowed to Solomon, and was the first to leave. He knew that world was dangerous, but Reincarnators were danger itself.
To others, he was also very dangerous.
[HX77754611 (Midnight Watch) sent a message: Heard a new Secondary World appeared. [The Final Day]'s side will definitely send people there. It's a good opportunity for us to start hunting~]
The Heart Demon sent several messages in a row. Aside from the first one being a greeting, the subsequent ones were all information about Reincarnators under [The Final Day].
Coincidentally, Crimson Magus · Luo Xi also sent a detailed file at this time.
It was a team named [Chaos Sage]. There were 9 members in total, 5 of whom were veteran Reincarnators and the other 4 were 'cattle' (people raised/exploited by the team). The newest member, [Fleur], was the target Luo Xi asked Kaito to kill.
The team leader, [Sage], was a considerably formidable Title Level Reincarnator. Luo Xi guessed his ability to be [Golden Alchemy] or [Grand Prophecy], an ability whose manifestation approached 'speaking the law,' and his Title Ability was unknown.
Excessive messages interrupted the rhythm of Kaito's training. When he walked out of the Training Hall, a large number of necrotic cells on his body were healed and regenerated using Dimensional Points again.
The overly intense cellular activity caused his whole body's cells to emit a breathing sound like cicadas when contacting the normal air pressure and density outside.
Faint red mist rose around his body. The scene was quite terrifying, drawing sideways glances.
With a flash of light, Kaito returned to his Private Space. He planned to return to the real world first to fill up the [Sin of Lust] synchronization rate, and then carefully plan which of these targets to hunt first.
