Chapter 65 - Chapter 64 – After the Door Closed

OCCULT RESEARCH CLUB

Time passed outside and the corridor returned to silence, but inside the room the sound of water still fell steadily, filling the space while the steam spread without hurry, making the environment more closed and warm. Gasper remained seated on the sofa, his body relaxed in posture, but his eyes fixed in the direction of the improvised shower in the middle of the room.

"Tell me, Rias, why is there a shower in the middle of the room?" he asked without looking away, his voice coming out direct as he rested his arm on the backrest, observing every reaction of hers without hurry.

Rias froze for a second, her body reacting before the answer came, her hand stopping mid-movement while the water still ran down her shoulders, her gaze shifting slightly as if trying to organize a quick explanation.

'what do I say…'

"Well… it's just that I…" she began, hesitating for a moment before forcing a firmer tone. "I just wanted to save time."

Gasper kept his gaze on her for another second, analyzing without interrupting, the short silence forming before he responded, as if deciding whether to accept that or not.

"You're very smart, Rias. That really makes things easier." he said, his voice calm, but firm, his gaze not softening as he finished. "But now you have a boyfriend… and I don't want anyone other than me to see you naked."

Rias reacted at the same instant, her body becoming firmer under the water, her gaze returning straight to him without looking away, a slight blush appearing as a small smile formed effortlessly.

"Yes… I'll remember that." she replied, her tone lower, but steady, holding his gaze for another second before looking away slightly.

The sound of water kept falling, filling the space between them while Gasper let the air out slowly through his nose, maintaining a relaxed posture, but with his eyes still attentive, not missing a single detail.

'save time… do I believe that? of course not.'

His gaze remained on her as the thought passed without interfering in his expression, his face maintaining the same controlled neutrality, as if he had decided not to press on that at the moment.

'there are things not worth arguing about…'

Gasper slightly adjusted his position on the sofa, settling his body better while keeping focus, his breathing steady, but his mind already organizing another question that wouldn't leave.

'should I tell Rias that Akeno was on the other side listening to everything…'

His gaze didn't change, but his attention became sharper, observing every reaction of hers under the water, as if evaluating the right moment to speak or simply let it pass, keeping his body relaxed while the decision formed without hurry.

'I'll tell her… but I'll wait for her to finish her shower.'

The water decreased until it stopped completely, the sound ceasing at once while the steam still lingered in the air, and Rias stepped out of the shower space with firm movements, drying her body without looking directly at him, but clearly aware of his presence there.

She finished.

Without saying anything.

Her step came straight to the sofa, her body still warm from the bath as she approached without hesitation, her gaze meeting his for a second before acting, without asking, without announcing.

Rias sat on his lap.

Her body fit.

The heat still present.

The weight distributed naturally.

Gasper didn't move to stop it, his hand automatically rising to her waist as he slightly adjusted her position, keeping her steady there, his gaze fixed on her face, analyzing the immediate reaction.

Rias didn't look away.

Her breathing came out slower.

Her body relaxed against his.

The silence lasted just enough.

"You know Akeno…" he began, his voice low, but direct, keeping his gaze locked on her while his hand remained firm on her waist.

Rias reacted at the same instant, her body freezing for a second, her expression changing before the answer came out, her gaze narrowing slightly.

"What about her?" she asked, her tone more attentive, her body no longer as relaxed as before.

Gasper maintained his posture, his gaze firm as he spoke without hesitation, without softening the information.

"I heard her approaching." he said, pausing for a second before continuing. "She stopped on the other side of the door… and stayed listening."

Rias's body reacted immediately, her shoulders becoming tense, her face heating up quickly as her gaze changed completely, the blush rising along with clear irritation.

"What?" she let out, her voice coming out louder than before, her body pulling back slightly just enough to look at his face better. "Akeno did that?"

The environment answered with heavy silence, the sound of water already gone making everything more direct, without distraction, while her breathing became more marked.

'she was listening… everything…'

Rias tightened his clothes slightly with her hand, the irritation evident in her expression, but mixed with embarrassment, her gaze shifting away for a second before returning.

"That's…" she began, stopping for a moment, her breathing faltering once before finishing. "She crossed the line."

Gasper didn't react with tension, his hand remaining firm on her waist as he gently pulled her back, preventing her from moving away further, his gaze maintaining the same calm as before.

"If I had said something at the time…" he said, his tone controlled, but lower now, bringing his face a little closer. "It would've ruined the moment."

Rias froze again.

This time the reaction was different.

Her body stopped tensing.

Her gaze changed.

"So you…" she began, her tone lower, the blush still present, but the irritation fading as she processed it.

"I ignored it." Gasper finished, without hesitation, keeping his gaze firm. "Because I was with you."

Silence returned.

But now shorter.

Rias took a deep breath once, her body relaxing little by little as the hand gripping his clothes loosened, her gaze remaining on him without looking away.

'he chose to stay… with me.'

Her face softened.

The irritation almost completely disappeared, her body relaxing again while her gaze remained locked on his, the blush still present, but now more stable, without the previous tension.

"…idiot." she said softly, without real weight, tilting her face right after as she closed the distance completely.

Rias kissed Gasper.

The contact came direct, without hesitation, her body adjusting better on his lap as her hand slid up his shoulder, holding firmly for a moment before easing the pressure, maintaining the kiss for a few more seconds before slowly pulling away.

Gasper kept his gaze on her, his breathing steady, but his attention still active, as if something hadn't left his mind even after the moment.

"You know… now Akeno is on the stairs." he said, his voice calm, but direct, without looking away while his hand remained firm on her waist.

Rias reacted at the same instant, her body freezing for half a second, her gaze changing before the answer came, her expression becoming more attentive.

"How do you know?" she asked, her tone more serious, her body leaning slightly forward as if wanting to confirm that.

Gasper answered without hurry, slightly opening his mouth as he extended his fangs visibly, making it clear what was behind that, his gaze remaining firm on her.

"I'm a dhampir." he said, maintaining his posture. "Super hearing is part of the package."

Rias blinked once, the reaction immediate, her body relaxing again as she let the air out through her nose, recognizing the logic without arguing.

"Right… I forgot." she said, her tone lower, her hand sliding lightly over his shoulder as she thought. "Do you think I should do something?"

Gasper didn't answer immediately, his gaze analyzing her expression for a second before speaking, as if organizing the answer carefully.

"You know Akeno better than I do." he said, keeping his tone direct. "At some point she'll use this to tease you."

Rias reacted with a light sigh, her body loosening as her gaze shifted away for a second, clearly already anticipating that.

"You're right…" she murmured, her hand rising to her forehead for a moment before lowering again. "She won't leave me alone."

Gasper slightly tilted his head, his gaze becoming more focused again, as if he had reached the point he wanted.

"That's the point." he said, his hand tightening a bit more on her waist to keep her attention. "Why, instead of her teasing you… you tease her?"

Rias froze for a second.

The reaction came immediately.

Her gaze returned straight to him.

Curious.

"…And how do I do that?" she asked, her tone changing completely, now more interested, her body leaning a bit more forward.

Gasper left a small pause, his gaze firm as a slight smile appeared, not exaggerated, but enough to show he had already thought about it.

"I have a plan." he said, without looking away.

Rias kept her gaze on him, the curiosity clear as she waited, her body still on his lap, completely focused on what he was about to say.

Gasper leaned a little closer, bringing his face nearer as he began to explain, his voice low, controlled, detailing each part without hurry, making sure she understood exactly what to do.

Rias's expression changed as he spoke.

First surprise.

Then understanding.

And finally…

A smile.

"…You're worse than her." Rias said softly, but without real criticism, her gaze still locked on him as she accepted the idea.

The environment fell into silence again.
