Ever since he dealt with Laufey, Loki had gone to Odin's Vault, retrieved Destroyer, and then sent it to Earth via the Bifrost Bridge, intending for Destroyer to deal with Thor and his friends! He himself sat on the throne, watching the scene unfold.
