Chapter 1918 - Ch: 136-144

Chapter 136: Fruit Treasure Armor, Assemble~

On the plane back to New York, Christine lay contentedly in Sean's arms, not wanting to move at all.

During this time, while Dice and the others were packing, Sean took Christine around the area to play for a long time, giving them a feeling of an early honeymoon trip, so sweet it felt almost unreal to her.

Especially when she woke up tonight and saw a huge monster's head placed in the middle of the living room, it made her think it was all just a dream.

"Is your mission to deal with monsters?" Christine murmured.

"Mhm, don't worry, it was pretty weak," Sean said with a smile.

"You work so hard~"

Christine felt a bit sorry for him. Previously, she thought Sean's daily opponents were just robbers or murderers, at worst dealing with Terrorists and such. She used to worry about Sean's safety every day.

However, after the Battle of New York and today, she realized she had been too naive before. It turns out the dangers Sean faces daily are alien armies, giant monsters—things she couldn't even imagine.

She and all ordinary people can live each day peacefully because Sean silently handles all the dangers.

Whenever Christine thought about this, her heart ached so much she wanted to cry. He really works too hard.

Christine in his arms held him a little tighter. Sean had no idea she had just mentally praised and pitied him all over again; he thought she was just tired from this morning's activities.

He quietly covered her with a blanket, being a warm guy, letting her rest for a while.

Ahem, because when Isa passed by earlier, she gave him a glare. He needed to deal with her later.

Isa, who had entered the bathroom, washed her face but still couldn't calm the anger in her heart.

Lady Dice is so good, even willing to find other women for him, yet he's still fooling around outside. It's really not worth it for the boss.

I used to think he was a good man. Back then, he was so gentle, I almost fell for him myself. Turns out he's a scumbag too, hmph!

Just then, the bathroom door opened.

"You... why did you come in?"

Isa panicked a little. She hadn't voiced her thoughts out loud just now, had she?

"Ahem, I came to use the toilet," Sean said with a mischievous smile.

"Then I'll go out first." Isa lowered her head, intending to slip out, but she failed.

"You! How, how did you~ come in!"

He, he really isn't a good person!

This was Isa's last coherent thought. After that, her mind could hold nothing but Sean.

Only Dice's people were on this plane. Apart from the pilot, they were all girls under Isa's command, so there was no need to worry about anyone coming to disturb.

Because anyone who came wanted to join.

...

After returning to New York, Sean prepared souvenirs for all the Avengers—White Serpent meat.

Yes, White Serpent. Although it looked strange, even having fins on its face, it undeniably had horns. So, Sean finally decided it must be a flood dragon.

Its meat was indeed quite good. After eating it, all his subordinates said it was excellent, feeling warm all over as if their strength had increased a bit. But Sean didn't feel anything special about it, except that it tasted alright.

At Stark Tower, Tony had Jarvis analyze the composition of this meat. He didn't believe Sean would bring ordinary meat as a gift.

"Sir, I have compared it to all known life forms on Earth. No matching DNA found. It contains some kind of energy that cannot be parsed."

Tony sighed and asked, "Sean, next time you go outside Earth, can you take me with you?"

Pepper, who happened to come down with some snacks, overheard this, and her heart skipped a beat.

"Uh, I don't think you want to go, right, Tony?"

Looking at her kind smile, Tony could only nod, "You're right, I was just asking."

Then he quietly walked over to Sean's side and quickly whispered, "Not true!"

"Pepper, could you take this meat to the chef? I want it for dinner tonight," Tony said.

Pepper gave him a helpless look, said nothing, and took the meat out.

"Jarvis, close the door!"

Hearing the door lock, Tony breathed a sigh of relief, turned around, and looked at Sean seriously.

"Name your conditions. What will it take for you to tell me everything? Like about this meat, the Skyfather level, and dimensional invasions!"

"Ever since you mentioned these things last time, I've been trying to forget these terms, but unfortunately, I can't. I can't even stop myself from thinking about them."

"Originally, I thought Wakanda might have the answers, but I was wrong again. They were just lucky thousands of years ago to get a large chunk of Vibranium meteorite. Nothing else strange there. I..."

Sean couldn't listen anymore and raised his hand to interrupt:

"If you think Wakanda only has Vibranium, then I also think you're not ready to face other things."

"What do you mean?" Tony looked very confused. He believed he hadn't missed any information about Wakanda.

He had even dug up the most mysterious Vibranium data. The rest were just some unimportant ritual activities.

"Wait, are you referring to the rituals? The Heart-Shaped Herb?"

Sean stood up, giving him a meaningful look over his shoulder.

"Tony, if you don't have the courage to fight against Gods, then just be Iron Man. Leave the rest to me!"

Tsk, saying that, Sean felt pretty cool himself.

Behind him, Tony's pupils dilated, clearly shocked.

After a long while, he finally recovered and said dazedly, "Hoo~ I understand."

Huh? What do you understand?

Sean wanted to ask, but doing so would ruin the image he just built.

"You... it's good that you understand. In the car downstairs, I've prepared some dragon scales for you. Try using them as material to make Armor!"

"Dragon scales? Then, the meat earlier!"

Sean smiled faintly and said very casually, "Mhm, on this business trip, I slayed a dragon. The dragon scales might still contain residual magic energy. I hope you can make good use of it."

"I will!"

Tony felt ashamed. He hadn't expected that while he was still proud of his new Nano Suit, Sean had once again saved the World.

This time, he must not let him down. Even if Pepper scolds him, Tony decided he must get the supermodel arranged for him!

Sean had no idea what he was thinking. If he knew, he would definitely postpone what he was about to say next.

"By the way, Tony, I have a concept for a new Armor. Do you want to see it?"

"Oh, sure!"

New Armor—Tony was naturally very interested. He wondered what kind of ingenious ideas Sean, with his perspective, would have. He was looking forward to it!

Twenty minutes later, the ending theme played from Sean's phone, the moving music captivating Tony's soul.

"So, what do you think!" Sean asked with an expectant look.

Tony was stunned for a moment, then shook his head, a hint of pleading in his eyes.

"Please don't tell me this anime, oh no, this fruit cartoon is your idea?"

"You're overthinking it, you're overthinking it, Tony. Art comes from life. If you always look at everything from a realistic perspective, how will you face the multitude of Gods in the future?" Sean earnestly advised.

Tony took a deep breath. The shock in his eyes hadn't faded; he still couldn't understand.

"Inhale~ Exhale~ Even if I could build the mecha from it, I couldn't store it inside a sword and then shout 'Fruit Treasure Armor' to summon a several-hundred-meter-tall mecha!"

Chapter 137: Leisurely Sean

An ordinary night in London, Britain.

"Jane, are you really going on a date tomorrow?"

"No! It's not like that. It's just a simple, ordinary meal with a man," Jane denied.

"Mm-hm. We usually call that kind of situation a date," Daisy said with a playful smile.

Jane sighed, staring blankly at the ceiling and murmuring, "What choice do I have? We both fell in love with a man we shouldn't have."

*Cough, cough cough!*

Daisy, beside her, coughed several times before catching her breath. "My situation is different from yours. How should I put it between Sean and me? More than friends, less than lovers? Each taking what we need?"

"Heh, then your needs are certainly quite large."

Jane didn't believe her for a second. On Christmas Eve, Daisy's behavior had been completely different from what she was saying now.

Daisy clicked her tongue, her expression quite open-minded.

"From the beginning, I never thought about being with Sean forever. I understand that clearly. Being able to stay by his side as a fan is enough for me."

Thinking of this, a sweet smile appeared on the corner of Daisy's mouth.

"Besides, he responds to me. Every time I chat with him, he replies. He even sent me a photo. Look."

As she spoke, Daisy handed her phone to Jane. On the screen was a photo of Sean with a White Flood Dragon.

"Impressive, right? Ordinary people don't get to see this photo."

Jane glanced at it, feeling a bit envious in her heart. At least they were still in contact, unlike a certain someone who hadn't sent a single word.

Just as Jane was about to look at her chat history with Sean, Daisy immediately snatched the phone back like a startled rabbit.

"The! The content after that isn't for outsiders to see!"

This action made Jane laugh, and her gloomy mood dissipated quite a bit. She lunged forward to tickle Daisy while making a move to grab the phone.

"Hmph, don't talk about you; I've seen Sean himself. What secrets could you two possibly have from me? Quick, let me see!"

"No, Sister Jane~"

Amidst the joyful playfulness, the two gradually fell asleep, but the figures in their hearts did not fade for a long time.

The next day, Jane dressed appropriately and went to the restaurant for her appointment.

She wanted to try starting a new relationship to forget Thor, who had been gone for a long time.

The man in front of her was elegant, humorous, and very handsome. If her head weren't full of Thor, she probably would have liked him.

Some people are like that; even if they only appear for a few short days, they can occupy another person's life forever.

This lunch was a bit awkward for both parties. Fortunately, Daisy came up at that moment and handed Jane a small device, saying an abnormal signal source had appeared and that she needed to go.

Jane apologized to Richard and then quickly ran out with Daisy, feeling a sense of relief in her heart.

This meeting also made Jane realize that now was not the time to start a next relationship; she wasn't ready yet.

A leisurely afternoon at the Hess Family Residence in New York, America.

Sean leaned back on the sofa watching TV with pleasure. Beside him were the exhausted Sif, Isa, Feifei, and several beautiful women whose names he didn't know.

This kind of peaceful, everyday life was everything he pursued.

During this time, Tony had come to see him, saying that the Nano Armor could be researched further and wanting to discuss it with him and Dr. Banner.

Sean directly refused. Staying with two men to do academic research or whatever was just too stupid.

How could that be more pleasant than staying with a group of cute girls? Aren't they more fragrant?

Max had also come several times, always saying a criminal gang had appeared and wanting to go on a mission with him.

Sean naturally refused as well. The reason he made up was simple: he said that after the previous explosion, the public was wary of him. He told Max he needed to do more good deeds quickly to improve his image, and if they went together, Max wouldn't get any credit. So, he should just work hard on his own.

The real reason was also very simple: laziness!

When Max heard this, he was greatly encouraged. As expected, Homelander was looking out for him. No wonder after carrying out missions with Captain America before, his fans didn't increase, and even the news reports were all about Steve, with very little space for him. So that was why!

Then, he happily went off to deal with the bad guys alone.

Natasha had also visited, but her thoughts were as simple and clear as her clothes. Every time she came, she had ulterior motives, always wanting him to handle troublesome missions.

This time, Sean—hehe—didn't explicitly refuse; he just asked her to show some 'appreciation.' Natashadidn't suspect anything, as this had been the process before.

Only after she had tricked Sharon and Betty into coming over did Sean wipe his hands and say:

"Sigh, I really don't have time lately. I've sensed a great terror coming soon, and I can't get away."

Natasha didn't believe a single word of that.

However, the S.H.I.E.L.D. laboratory still held the massive monster corpse he had sent over last time, which made Natasha very conflicted.

Even if you knew he was lying and intended to eat his fill and then deny the bill, he was Sean. What if there really was a 'great terror' like he said?

In the end, she and Barton could only go out to execute those missions separately, leaving Sean alone at the Hess Family Residence to fight these 'great, terrors.'

Actually, Sean felt he wasn't lying to her. This was Marvel; how could there be no danger? It was just a matter of when it would happen.

And him, working hard to increase his strength before the crisis arrived—was there any problem with that? None!

Even though none of the women around him now could increase his Affection Points.

*Ring ring~*

The phone rang. Sean glanced at it and saw it was Daisy calling before picking up.

"Sean! Jane—Jane is gone! The kind of gone where she just suddenly vanished before my eyes!"

"Don't worry. Send me your location. I'm coming over now. Rest assured, with me there, nothing will go wrong."

"Mhm! I believe you!"

Soon, he received the location she sent on his phone.

Sean stood up, stretched, and let Sif help him get dressed.

He didn't refuse this. It wasn't because Daisy was so important, but mainly because Sean was a warm-hearted man who couldn't bear to see a fan sad and distressed.

He was just a man who cared about his fans; it had absolutely nothing to do with F-whatever.

From New York to London, a total distance of over six thousand kilometers, Sean arrived in less than an hour.

Inside an industrial park, Daisy and her assistant Ian were walking around anxiously.

"Shouldn't we call the police?" Ian asked nervously.

Daisy shook her head. "No need. I called someone. Now that he's coming, nothing will happen to Jane."

"Who did you call?"

"Homelander, Sean."

As the two were talking, a figure descended from the sky, giving them a start.

Daisy clutched her pounding chest and rushed forward to hug Sean.

"You got here so fast."

Sean gently patted her back to help her relax.

"As soon as I heard your news, I rushed over immediately. Show me where Jane disappeared."

"Okay, follow me!"

Daisy pulled Sean and ran, not daring to delay for a moment, fearing something had really happened to Jane.

Chapter 138: Heading to Asgard

The three of them arrived at the warehouse where Jane had disappeared. Ian still couldn't quite believe that Daisy could call Homelander over.

"Can I ask him for an autograph later?" Ian asked in a low voice.

"Shut up, assistant."

Daisy followed with quick, small steps, hugging Sean's arm and asking, "Did you find anything?"

Sean surprisingly didn't take the opportunity to take advantage of her, looking around with a serious expression.

"The space here is folding; I suspect Jane is no longer on Earth."

"Ah, what should we do? Jane won't die of oxygen deprivation in the Universe, will she?"

At the thought of Jane shivering in some unknown corner of the Universe, Daisy shed tears of self-reproach. If she hadn't gone to the restaurant today, Jane might still be on a sweet date with Richard.

"Don't worry, she's fine. She should appear on her own in a while."

"Really? You're not just lying to comfort me, are you?" Daisy's watery eyes stared at him without blinking.

Sean put his arm around her and smiled. "Don't worry, it's true. Let's go outside first."

Then, he flew her back to the previous location, quietly waiting for Jane to return on her own.

Behind them, Ian felt a bit lost. "Did you guys forget there's another person here?"

Jane would definitely be fine. Although Sean might not know the specific details, he still remembered whether this main character lived or died.

If Sean remembered correctly, this should be the point in time when the Aether Particle, which is the Reality Stone, was about to appear.

Jane was definitely safe for now, but Sean remembered that Thor's mother, Frigga, seemed to be about to die.

Tsk, poor Thor.

And from this point on, Odin's lifespan was nearing its limit; he was almost ready to exit the Marvelstage.

Asgard, hey, Heavenly Palace, hehe.

Sean shook his head, trying to shake off the dirty thoughts inside, but unfortunately, there were too many.

The three didn't wait long outside before the sky was suddenly covered with dark clouds and thunder rumbled.

"Daisy!" Jane jogged toward the three of them. She was surprised to find Sean there as well, but she still greeted him.

"Hi, Sean, why are you here?"

Daisy stepped forward to hug her, shouting excitedly, "You were gone for five hours! I was so worried about you that I called him over."

"What? Five hours?"

Jane was a bit dazed; she felt like not even five minutes had passed.

Seeing how worried Daisy was about her, Jane smiled and hugged her tightly.

"Sorry for making you worry."

Daisy stepped back a few paces to Sean's side and wiped her tears. "I'm just glad you're okay."

Cough, since Jane was fine, she still wanted to spend more time with Sean. She wondered if she could get him to stay tonight.

Sean looked up at the sky and sneezed. Instantly, the dark clouds across the sky dispersed, and sunlight shone through once more.

"Daisy isn't the only one worried about you."

"Hmph, what? Do you and the assistant want a hug too? Then come on." With that, Jane generously opened her arms.

Sean grinned and gestured with his chin. "I think you should hug the person behind you instead."

Jane was puzzled and turned her head in confusion. Thor, wearing black armor and a red cape while holding Mjolnir, was actually standing there, looking at her.

Jane was stunned for a long moment before thrusting the device in her hand to Daisy and running quickly to Thor.

"Jane." Thor smiled as he approached her, preparing for a long-awaited reunion hug.

Slap! A crisp slap landed on his face.

"Sorry, I just wanted to make sure you were real first. A lot of strange things happened today."

"I am real, Jane, you..."

Before Thor could even finish, Jane slapped him again with a backhand and demanded, "Where on Earthhave you been?"

"Uh, Heimdall couldn't see you, so..."

"Couldn't see me? I stood right where we parted and waited for you, crying the whole time!" Jane was already feeling very aggrieved at this point.

"You said you would come back."

Seeing her like this, Thor felt a pang of heartache.

"I know, I really know. But the Bifrost Bridge was destroyed, and the Nine Realms were in chaos. There were wars everywhere, with all sorts of Marauders taking advantage of the situation. I had to end the turmoil first."

Jane thought the reason was acceptable, and her mood improved slightly. "If that's the case, then I can accept it."

"But I clearly saw you on TV in New York. I even rushed over there and asked Sean to keep you for a day, saying I'd be right there."

Actually, it wouldn't have even taken a day; they might have met in a few hours, and wouldn't have had to wait until today.

"Jane, I came back last time to find something to repair the Bifrost Bridge so that I could better protect Earth from alien invasions. I thought protecting Earth was protecting you."

Thor reached out to gently stroke her hair and said affectionately, "But I think I was wrong. Many things happened, and for a moment, I even felt I had lost you. But fate allowed me to meet you again. I might not know where you were or what you were doing, but I know I missed you so much, Jane."

"I missed you too!"

Jane stopped blaming him and stood on her tiptoes, enjoying their long-awaited kiss.

Seeing this, the three in the distance smiled knowingly.

Sean hugged Daisy and whispered, "I remember last time they were kissing, you quietly approached and stole a glance at me, didn't you?"

"Yes, so what?" Daisy looked up and asked with a smile.

"Hey, you don't have to quietly approach this time." After saying that, Sean lowered his head and kissed her.

The two couples kissed as if no one else were around, making Ian feel as if his World-view were collapsing.

He hadn't expected that both of these Professors were actually girlfriends of superheroes.

It's over. They won't kill me to keep me quiet later, will they?

Seeing such inside information, Ian was very panicked. He felt that at any moment, these two strongest superheroes would kill him to ensure their girlfriends' safety.

He carefully hid behind the car, trying his best to minimize his presence.

Actually, he didn't need to do that because no one was looking at him at all—no one!

Jane and Thor kissed for a long time, as if trying to make up for the time they had lost.

Suddenly, a surge of blood-red energy erupted from Jane's body, knocking Thor back several meters and causing her to collapse to the ground as well.

The sudden turn of events caused Sean's side to stop as well. Without letting Daisy get close, he quickly stepped forward to check the situation.

"W-what's happening to me?" Jane was a bit dazed.

Thor also rushed over immediately and asked anxiously, "Sean, what's wrong with Jane?"

Sean examined her seriously and found red crystalline substances flowing beneath her skin; it was likely the Aether Particle.

But even knowing it was the Aether Particle was useless; he couldn't get it out.

"I suggest you take her to Asgard. The situation is very bad."

"It's that serious!" Thor exclaimed, not doubting Sean's words.

"Alright, I'll take her there right now."

Sean grabbed his arm. "I'm going too!"

Thor smiled slightly and nodded. "Alright, you're very welcome. My father said last time that he wanted to have a chat with you."

Thunder roared in the sky. Seeing that the three of them were about to leave, Daisy quickly ran over and shouted, "I want to go too!"

"Uh, fine." It didn't matter to Thor how many came along.

The rainbow beam descended, enveloping the four of them, and they soon vanished.

Chapter 139: Meeting with Odin

Asgard, the realm of the ruler of the Nine Realms.

With a flash of light, the four of them appeared at the head of the Bifrost Bridge.

"Welcome to Asgard," said a man wearing golden armor and holding a sword.

This person was the guardian god who controlled the Bifrost Bridge and watched over the Nine Realms, Heimdall.

His gaze was sharp, fixed intently on Sean Brooke, though it was unclear what he was thinking.

Previously, because of Thor's instructions, Heimdall had always kept an eye on Jane, so the moment she disappeared this time, he immediately notified Thor.

But what Thor didn't know was that the All-Father Odin had also come once, instructing him to keep an eye on a person from Earth, namely Sean Brooke.

He naturally obeyed the King's orders, but that was where the strange part lay.

His eyes could not see Sean Brooke.

Logically, he should be able to see any creature in the Universe no matter where they were; there shouldn't be a situation where he couldn't see someone.

Clearly, when Thor had just gone to Earth, he could still see this person, but after the Chitauri invasion, he could no longer see him.

"This is Heimdall, the god who guards the Bifrost Bridge," Thor said, raising his hand to introduce him. "Heimdall, this is the powerhouse from Earth, Sean Brooke, beside me."

"Welcome," Heimdall said, nodding in greeting.

"Mm," Sean Brooke replied with a slight nod.

After the brief introduction, Thor took the three of them and flew toward the palace, not wanting to delay Jane's treatment.

After they left, Heimdall immediately notified Odin that this unfathomable human was very strong.

In the treatment room, Jane lay on a platform while several Asgardian female healers checked her body.

Thor and Daisy stood nearby, their faces filled with worry.

"What is this non-Earth substance? Is there any record of it?"

A young healer, Lilei, had tears in her eyes. "We have never seen it before, but the energy churning inside her is enough to kill her."

"Ah!"

Daisy quickly covered her mouth, afraid to disturb them, while her other hand gripped Sean Brooke's arm tightly, very worried about Jane's safety.

However, Jane on the hospital bed didn't feel anything at all and was quite leisurely chatting with the healers, occasionally winking at Thor in the process.

"You aren't listening to a word I say, are you?"

Odin strode in alone and waved his hand, causing the healers to all stand aside.

"She is sick, Father."

"She is a mortal. Mortals get sick, of course, and humans happen to have a profession called a Doctor."

Odin did not have a good tone toward Jane; he did not want his future successor to mingle with an ordinary human.

However, when Odin walked up to Sean Brooke, he paused for a moment.

"Greetings, god of Earth, Sean Brooke."

"Greetings, All-Father of Asgard, Odin."

The two shook hands, and Sean Brooke spoke first:

"Forgive me for the sudden intrusion."

"It is no matter. It was I who asked Thor to invite you; welcome to Asgard as a guest."

The same smile appeared on both their faces, and even their inner thoughts were not much different.

Old fox.

The moment Odin saw Sean Brooke, he knew he was definitely not an ordinary human. How could a human soul be so pure and dazzling? Could it be that gods could be born on Earth as well?

Sean Brooke had intentionally added a location name in front of the All-Father, and the meaning was clear: to tell Odin that as the All-Father, he could not control other places.

Both sides harbored their own hidden agendas.

Odin's goal was to find out if this Sean Brooke had anything to do with Ragnarok, so he wanted to get close to him and learn more.

Sean Brooke's goal was simple: he wanted to promote the relationship between Earth and Asgard and deepen the connection between the two places, such as through intermarriage or alliances.

Out of respect for Sean Brooke, Odin did not say anything harsh; otherwise, he would have already had his guards throw Jane back to Earth.

Jane also quickly sat up; this was Thor's father, after all, and she couldn't be too impolite.

"I, I am..."

"Jane Foster, I know," Odin interrupted impatiently.

But he had clearly overestimated the IQ of a woman in love.

Jane didn't pay any attention to the sarcastic tone at all; instead, she looked at Thor happily and said with a smile:

"You mentioned me to your family?"

To her, wasn't this just meeting the parents?

You have to know, in the U.S., unless one is really getting married, people don't proactively mention their romantic partners to their families, because no one knows if they will still be together tomorrow; they change partners quite frequently.

Thor nodded at her with a smile, then walked to his father's side and said anxiously, "There is an unknown substance inside her; the situation is very dangerous."

"It is not unknown. I can feel that this substance is related to the Infinity Stones," Sean Brookeinterjected.

Hearing "Infinity Stones," Odin's expression changed. He immediately walked to Jane's side and swept his palm across her arm.

"This, impossible."

He recognized what it was at a glance, which was why he thought it was impossible.

"Follow me."

The four of them followed Odin to the library to hear him tell the story of the Dark Elves.

The keyword "Elf" made Sean Brooke's eyes light up, and he leaned in to take a closer look.

But the illustrations in the book greatly disappointed him. Except for the pointed ears, there was nothing elf-like about them; they could only be described as ugly.

"The leader of the Dark Elves, Malekith, used darkness to create a weapon called the Aether, attempting to use its power to return the Universe to darkness."

"The Aether will absorb the host's life force and convert all matter into darkness. If I am not mistaken, the substance inside her is the Aether."

Speaking of this, Odin gave Sean Brooke a meaningful look.

He himself wasn't very clear about the fact that the Aether Particle was an Infinity Stone, so he hadn't expected this new god to know. It seemed he really had many secrets.

"Then does the book record how to expel the Aether?"

Hearing that the Aether would consume the host's life force, Jane was also a little flustered.

Odin shook his head and said seriously:

"Thor, first arrange for them to stay in Asgard. The Aether is very dangerous and cannot fall into the hands of others."

Although the Dark Elves had already been wiped out, the matter of the Aether still had to be handled properly; besides, it was an Infinity Stone.

"Very well, Father."

Thor led them out, trying his best to calm down; he couldn't let his nervous emotions affect Jane. He couldn't despair; if he despaired, Jane would truly have no hope.

Not going with them, Sean Brooke flew off alone to take a look around, not even taking Daisy; in case he were to do something bad later, it would be somewhat inconvenient to have her nearby.

While admiring the beautiful scenery of Asgard and looking for beautiful sights, the deafening shouts in the distance soon caught Sean Brooke's attention.

In the center of a huge plaza, two tall and mighty warriors were fighting hand-to-hand, while the cheering and encouragement from the surroundings grew louder and louder.

"Hey, what is this?" Sean Brooke asked, tapping the person in front of him.

The person turned around, and upon seeing an unfamiliar face, felt very confused.

This was Asgard; apart from prisoners, how many years had it been since they had seen an outsider?

"Who are you?"

"A guest of Odin, from Earth."

"Oh, is that so? Welcome!"

Without a hint of suspicion, he patted Sean Brooke's shoulder warmly and pointed to the front to introduce it:

"Ha, let me tell you, this is the most popular event in Asgard besides banquets: gladiatorial combat!"

Chapter 140: Hey, I heard a very handsome man came to the arena today.

Mmm! Mmm mmm!

Shouts reaching for the sky echoed through the clouds.

"Today! We have a special warrior making an appearance, a guest from Midgard, Sean Brooke!"

"Sean! Sean!"

A guest from Midgard? This was the first time someone from Midgard had come to Asgard in such a long time. They showed their respect, loudly shouting Sean's name to cheer him on.

"And his opponent is, the experienced warrior Monte, who has already won five consecutive matches today!"

"Monte! Monte!"

This time, the shouts were noticeably louder. It seemed he was very popular among men.

Monte had a very robust build, with layers of fat that particularly caught the eye.

"Welcome to Asgard, Midgardian. You can take a weapon." Monte pointed to a weapon rack not far away, his expression full of disdain.

Welcome was welcome, but the inherent arrogance remained.

"Heh, you can too."

Sean stood with his hands behind his back, looking around with a very relaxed expression, not even glancing at his opponent.

Nonsense, how could a bare-chested, burly man with a full beard and rippling muscles be as good-looking as the beautiful young ladies around him?

However, Sean's expression seemed to enrage Monte, making him feel disrespected.

"Is that so? Don't worry, the healers in Asgard are very skilled. You'll soon find out."

"Hmm, I agree with that. The healers are indeed very beautiful."

The two men's conversation was not on the same wavelength. There was nothing to be done; such an opponent could hardly pique Sean's interest.

Dong~

The bell rang, and the announcer shouted:

"Ready~ Begin!"

Monte rushed forward like an arrow, worried that Sean might be an agile opponent, intending to seize him directly and defeat him in one move.

Seeing him stand still, Monte's lips curled into a smirk.

Got him! Hmph, Midgardians are just mortals, aren't they? To be stunned by my powerful aura, haha!

Just as his hand was about to touch Sean, Sean moved.

He extended his right hand, grabbed Monte's collar, and then lightly flung him backward, performing a one-handed over-the-shoulder throw that slammed him onto the ground. Monte's eyes immediately closed, and he passed out.

The shouts from the crowd abruptly ceased, and the atmosphere became eerily quiet. At that moment, Sean unconsciously muttered:

"Tsk, so weak."

This heartfelt remark was like throwing a large stone into a calm lake, stirring up ripples.

"Ah! Teach him a lesson! Someone come and teach him a lesson!"

The shouts were louder than ever. Indeed, Sean's words were too damaging, almost causing them to attack him en masse.

In less than ten seconds, dozens of people jumped out, all with the same expression: gnashing their teeth, determined to teach this arrogant Midgardian a lesson.

"Let me go first!"

"Why? I'll go first!"

They knew nothing of yielding; anger had blinded them, preventing them from seeing the situation clearly.

"Ahem, you can all come at once," Sean said indifferently.

If his previous words were a stone, then now, they were a meteorite.

"Ah! I can't take it anymore!"

Several warriors couldn't hold back and charged forward, completely forgetting the 1v1 rule.

Soon, these few were knocked out and lay on the ground, unresponsive.

Their speed of defeat depended on how long it took them to run to Sean.

"Everyone, let's go together!"

Only then did they realize something was wrong; this Midgardian was here to cause trouble, and he was a tough one.

In that case, there was no need to talk about rules with him. If they let him walk out standing, wouldn't Asgard's reputation be completely lost?

The scene instantly devolved into chaos. Regardless of whether they were participating warriors, everyone rushed forward, one after another.

Sean's expression changed, and he quickly put on his Nano Suit, mainly fearing that they might get angry and spit.

...

"Hmm? The arena is so lively today?"

Sif was on patrol with a team and noticed the loud shouts ahead. Nearby, girls were constantly running past, chatting and laughing as they went.

"Hey, I heard a very handsome man came to the arena today."

"Yeah, apparently he's already defeated over a hundred people."

Over a hundred people? Sif raised an eyebrow. Who could be so powerful? Could Thor have gone to play? No, that couldn't be.

"Right! They say he's a warrior from Midgard. As soon as he takes off his shirt, sisters swoon from how handsome he is."

"Eek~ Quick, let's go see!"

The girls nearby had stars in their eyes, running in groups towards the arena, a place they usually never went.

Because it was usually where uncles with big beer bellies and full beards fought.

...Midgard?

Sif felt that the person they were talking about must be Sean. She hadn't expected him to come to Asgard.

In the center of the square, no one was left standing around Sean, but there were many people lying on the ground, so many that there was hardly any space left.

The shouts had quieted down a lot, but they sounded much more pleasant.

"Ah, Sean! He... he looked at me, oh my god!"

"Oh, my god, he's so strong, so handsome~"

"I can't take it, big sister, I must marry him."

"Show some respect to your brother-in-law!"

A large group of girls surrounded the area, excitedly shouting Sean's name. Their enthusiasm was no less than that of the men before, perhaps even greater, because they were truly hot~

Sean smiled easily, raising both hands, making the girls' shouts even louder.

When these guys charged over earlier, Sean was ready to fly away directly and had no intention of playing games with them.

But, coincidentally, a group of girls stopped when they saw the scene, excitedly shouting that they would go find more friends to watch together.

Hearing this, Sean thought about it and decided not to leave.

After all, having the girls come on their own was faster than him going to find them one by one, right?

Putting his hands on his hips, Sean couldn't help but exclaim:

"Asgard's virtue of sharing must be greatly developed."

Last time, Sif also said she wanted to bring her sisters to Earth to play with Sean.

Thinking of Sif, Sean felt a little emotional. This woman left and didn't come back. Don't let me run into her, otherwise, hmph!

Not long after, Sif arrived at the scene with a squad of guards.

Seeing the circles of people on the ground, the guards raised their weapons and pointed them at Sean, calling for backup.

"Don't be nervous, he's not an enemy... probably."

Sif stopped them and rushed to Sean herself, feeling a little nervous. It had been some time since they last met. She wanted to open up, no, she missed him.

"You, why did you come to Asgard?"

"Oh, let me see who this is?" Sean raised an eyebrow, stepped forward, lifted her chin, and feigned surprise, saying:

"Isn't this my Sif who's been away from home for so long? I almost didn't recognize you."

Sif's face flushed, and she glanced around guiltily. Luckily, the shouts were loud, so they probably hadn't heard. She took Sean's hand and said:

"Let's go somewhere quiet to talk."

Sean brushed her hand away and waved to the crowd, eliciting a chorus of screams.

"Hmph, no. There are still many girls here cheering for me."

The surrounding screams grew louder and louder. Sif knew they were about to rush forward. The women of Asgard didn't understand modesty.

Looking at the pouting Sean in front of her, Sif had no choice. She bit her lip and whispered:

"Let's find a quiet place. I can cheer too. If that doesn't work, how about my place?"

"Your place?"

In an instant, Sean thought of many things.

These Asgardians really do like to share.

Chapter 141: Melee Mages are an Asgardian Tradition

Asgard, Sif's Cottage.

She kept her promise, not only cheering but also jumping for joy, but Sean was slightly disappointed.

"You didn't mention you lived alone."

Sif gave a sly smile. "What bad things are you thinking about?"

Hey, this was the first time she had gained the upper hand verbally and successfully steadied Sean; it felt a bit exciting.

"Sif~ Are you home? I brought some fruit to see you."

A clear female voice called out from outside the door.

Sean took a glance, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

This smile reminded Sif of unpleasant things. She subconsciously looked to the side, then remembered this was the God Realm and Natasha wasn't here, which allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief.

Covering his mouth, she shouted toward the door:

"Thanks, Karin, but I haven't finished the fruit you brought yesterday."

"Ah!" Karin was a bit anxious.'Since you know I often bring you fruit and treat you well, then open the door already!'

Clenching her fists, she adjusted her breathing and continued to tap gently on the door.

"Today's fruit is a new variety, freshly picked, and tastes great."

She had seen a man carrying Sif home, and he looked remarkably like the handsome Midgardian she'd heard rumors about today.

It wasn't that Sif was unwilling to share Sean, but she still didn't know how Sean had gotten in. If he had snuck into the God Realm, she would need to contact Thor immediately to send him away, otherwise Odin would be very angry.

"Hmm... I actually quite want to taste the fruit of Asgard," Sean said faintly.

"Shh, keep your voice down. How exactly did you get here?"

This question was crucial; she had been so caught up in cheering earlier that she'd forgotten about it.

"Thor brought me here, and I even met Odin. Why?"

"Is that so? That's good then."

"So, can I taste the fruit now?"

Sif glanced at the door, leaned down to cup Sean's face, and smiled with a look of mischief:

"Hmph, this is Asgard. Do you still want to be as arrogant as you were on Earth? Taste fruit? Heh, tonight, I'm going to turn you into fruit~"

"Karin! I brought fruit from Earth for you too, we can eat together."

...

Deep in the dungeon, criminals from all over the Nine Realms were imprisoned, even Loki was held here.

In an inconspicuous cell, many monsters were confined, most of them being Marauders from various parts of the Universe.

Among them, a fellow wearing a red bull-headed mask began to move strangely.

Slitting his stomach open, black blood flowed out. Without a word, he pulled a stone from within and crushed it.

Fire-red cracks appeared across his body, emitting a scorching heat like molten lava.

The monsters locked up with him panicked; even a fool could see something was wrong.

"Let us out! Let us out!"

With a bang, the surroundings fell silent. The man let out a roar, the lava cracks vanished, and the Dark Elves' trump card, the Cursed Warrior, officially emerged.

The massive sound alerted the guards, who mobilized and surrounded his cell door.

The Cursed Warrior casually grabbed one person, slammed them against the energy gate, and then shattered the cell door with a forceful punch.

The Asgardian guards had never imagined a monster could break through the cell doors.

Because monsters capable of breaking the doors were either dead or wouldn't be kept here, they only left a few guards for patrol.

Easily killing the guards, the Cursed Warrior walked to the other cells and released all the prisoners to create chaos; he had some brains after all.

However, when he reached Loki's cell, he merely took a glance and then walked away.

Perhaps seeing his weak appearance, he didn't bother to act.

"I think you should take the stairs on the left," Loki suggested.

The Cursed Warrior looked back at him, gave no response, and continued walking toward the front-left on his own.

The situation in the dungeon was quickly discovered. A large number of guards armed with weapons rushed toward the dungeon, and Thor in the distance was also flying over rapidly.

Meanwhile, Heimdall, guarding the Bifrost Bridge, sensed something was amiss based on his years of experience.

Unable to see the enemy forces, he quickly ran outside, leaped into the sky, drew two daggers from his lower back, and stabbed downward fiercely.

He didn't fall; instead, he slammed into an invisible enemy craft.

Spotting the engine compartment at a glance, he easily thrust his dagger in and brought it down.

Before he could breathe a sigh of relief, a large number of unknown aircraft appeared behind him, even including a massive mothership.

Without hesitation, Heimdall immediately rushed to the Rainbow Sword and used it to activate the palace's protective shield.

The golden energy shield slowly closed upward from below the palace at a fast speed, nearly completing the closure.

In the distance, Sif, who was busy eating fruit, had a change in expression. When she saw the scene outside the window, her heart skipped two beats.

"Oh my God, an enemy invasion!"

Sif quickly ran down, put on her armor, grabbed her sword, and rushed out, feeling deeply self-reproachful.

The enemy had reached her home, and she was actually still eating fruit. If anything happened, she would never forgive herself for the rest of her life.

In her haste, she didn't even ask Sean for help and just charged out.

Karin didn't know Sean's strength yet. Although she was nervous, she wasn't a combatant but a civilian; even if she wanted to help, it would be to no avail.

She even comforted Sean, saying, "Don't worry, as long as the shield is open, the enemy can't get... in."

Before she could finish, the shield that was about to close stopped growing and gradually vanished from sight.

Now, even she was in no mood to eat fruit.

"Let's go take refuge... Uh, where is he?"

Just as the shield disappeared, Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves, seized the opportunity to rush into the palace.

He knew he had to find the Aether before Odin arrived, otherwise there would be no chance.

Quickly clearing out the fodder and casually destroying Odin's throne, he followed the scent of the Aether, pushed open a door, and saw Queen Frigga and Jane.

Frigga shielded Jane behind her and questioned, "Who are you?"

"I am Malekith, here to take back what belongs to me."

He felt that the Aether was inside that girl and walked straight toward her.

Clang!

The short sword in Frigga's hand flashed with blue light as it sliced across Malekith's face. When it came to mages in melee combat, Asgardians were professionals.

Malekith stared coldly, drew his blade, and swung. Hmph, a sorceress wants to fight me in melee!

Then, he was easily disarmed by Frigga, her short sword pressed against his throat.

Perhaps because Asgard had been peaceful for too long, although Frigga's martial arts hadn't grown rusty, she still harbored a trace of mercy and didn't kill him immediately.

Heavy footsteps sounded behind her. Frigga didn't even turn her head, her right hand sweeping back to stab the person behind her.

But the Cursed Warrior was not someone a weakling like Malekith could compare to.

The short sword couldn't even pierce his skin; instead, he grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up. A sense of suffocation instantly flooded in.

Malekith breathed a sigh of relief; he had almost failed miserably.

Composing himself, he walked toward Jane again with an expression of victory in his grasp.

"You took my things, child. Give them back to me." As he spoke, he reached out to grab her.

However, he grabbed thin air.

With a flash of green light, Jane disappeared from before him.

Realizing what happened, Malekith flew into a rage, pointing at Frigga and snarling, "You witch! Where is the Aether?"

Even with her throat locked, Frigga remained calm.

"I will not tell you."

Through her eyes, Malekith knew she wasn't lying.

"That, I believe."

These words were like a signal, prompting the Cursed Warrior to kill her.

Just as the short sword was about to pierce Frigga's waist, Sean appeared instantly and kicked him away.

Chapter 142: Damn, None of Them Are Good People.

The short sword carved a long gash into Frigga's waist, and blood continuously poured from the wound.

"No!"

Outside the window, Thor let out a heart-wrenching cry upon seeing this scene.

A bolt of lightning shot out from the hammer, striking Malekith directly and knocking him to the ground.

Realizing the mission had failed, the Cursed Warrior immediately took his leader onto the mothership and vanished into the horizon.

They were fast, and if Sean Brooke wanted to stop them, he could have, but there was no need.

Saving Frigga to boost his reputation in Asgard was enough; there was no need to do more. He had been waiting nearby for quite a while to find this perfect moment.

Too early or too late, the effect wouldn't be as good. Only now, with Frigga heavily wounded and on the brink of Death, was the timing perfect.

Furthermore, for the enemies who invaded Asgard to wound the Queen and then walk away scot-free was a disgrace for Odin.

Hmph, let him spend his days calculating this and that.

Looking at Frigga in a pool of blood, both Odin and Thor were stunned, their steps slowing significantly.

"She's not dead yet. What, do you want me to take her to Earth to see a Doctor?" Sean Brooke said irritably.

"Quick, to the healing room! Follow me!"

Thor threw his hammer and flew off, while Sean Brooke followed behind carrying Frigga. As for Odin, he was old, and though his heart was willing, his strength was lacking.

The dungeon riot was quickly suppressed. This time, the people of Asgard were furious. Everyone knew the Queen had been attacked and the enemy had escaped, so they could only vent their rage on the prisoners.

Every prisoner involved in the riot was dragged to the square and executed. For a time, public indignation boiled over, with people clamoring to march on Vanaheim and slaughter all the Dark Elves.

There were many people outside the healing room, but not a single sound.

The warriors outside all looked tense, deeply worried about the Queen. Sif, in particular, was beginning to feel regret.

If she hadn't taken Sean Brooke to her home and instead let him join the battle, everything would have been different, and the Queen surely wouldn't have been harmed.

Odin arrived late. Seeing the warriors about to salute, he raised his hand to stop them, signaling for everyone to remain quiet.

His expression showed no trace of panic; as King, he needed to provide confidence to his people.

However, everyone knew that the fire of rage in his heart must be greater than anyone else's.

Soon, the door to the healing room opened, and Lilei walked out. Wiping her moist eyes, she said:

"The Queen is fine. She just fainted from excessive blood loss. She just needs some rest."

"Thank goodness. Oh my god." Everyone breathed a long sigh of relief, their hearts finally settling.

Odin also breathed a subtle sigh of relief. He waved for them to leave and not crowd the area, then walked inside himself.

"My King."

"No need for formalities. How is Frigga?" Odin walked to the bedside and asked with concern.

"There's no major issue. Fortunately, it was just an external wound. Had it been a direct thrust, the consequences would have been unthinkable."

"Whew, I understand."

Odin held Frigga's hand, his eyes filled with a tenderness not usually seen.

This was the first time he felt that the gears of fate could be changed.

Previously, when he rushed to the vicinity of the throne, a mysterious feeling told him that Frigga was destined to go to Valhalla early.

Odin understood that even if he reached Frigga at his fastest speed, it wouldn't matter. Because that was fate, and it couldn't be changed.

But the result exceeded his expectations. Frigga didn't die; she was saved, and her savior was an unfathomable person.

He slowly walked up to Sean Brooke. "Thank you for everything you've done, Sean. You shall be a forever friend of Asgard."

"The enemy's goal is the Aether, and it was I who advocated for bringing Jane here. I bear some responsibility for this chaos." Sean Brooke's expression was solemn, appearing very self-reproachful.

Glancing around, Odin lightly tapped the Eternal Spear. The two vanished instantly and appeared on a deserted mountain peak.

Putting away his weapon, even his armor transformed into ordinary clothes. He walked to the edge of the cliff and looked into the distance.

"It's just the two of us here, so there's no need to keep up the act. You don't seem like someone who would feel self-reproach. I've lived for thousands of years; while I might not see through fate, I have no problem reading human hearts."

Sean Brooke rubbed his face, putting away his wanton smile.

As expected, in front of these old monsters, he was still a bit green, whether it was the Ancient One or Odin.

"Since you know, why did you bring me here?"

"Because I need your help." Odin didn't hide anything and spoke very candidly.

"Ragnarok?"

"Exactly."

Odin wasn't surprised at all that Sean Brooke knew about this.

"When you broke Frigga's fate of Death, I felt that Ragnarok shouldn't be a difficult task for you either."

"Although I don't know why, I can see that the trajectory of this World's fate cannot interfere with you. If anyone can resolve Ragnarok, it can only be you."

Sean Brooke gave a meaningful smile. "What's in it for me?"

"What do you want?" Odin turned back and met his gaze.

Between the mountain peaks, neither spoke again, but both understood the other's meaning.

What I, Sean Brooke, want is something you, Odin, cannot give, so don't waste your breath. As for that Ragnarok, deal with it yourself.

I can help you, but you cannot demand that I help you.

Odin also understood that this human had a massive appetite; he wanted all of Asgard. Only when Asgard was his possession would he choose to protect it.

But the point that baffled Odin was here: he clearly wanted Asgard, yet he wouldn't use force to take it, maintaining an attitude of indifference.

If you give it to him, he'll certainly take it, but if you don't, he won't seize it.

And Odin certainly couldn't give it to him, because that would be worse than letting Ragnarok happen.

In this private talk, both sides indeed exchanged sincerity for sincerity, but the result...

Damn, none of them are good people.

Upon returning, Odin and Thor found a few people to discuss revenge. Having had their home invaded, they certainly wouldn't just sit and wait for Death.

Since the Dark Elves' goal was the Aether, if they didn't get it this time, they would come back again.

The only problem was that the Dark Elves' mothership had such good stealth that even Heimdall's eyes couldn't detect it.

Especially now, with the palace's protective shield not yet repaired, if they launched a full-scale assault on Vanaheim and were ambushed by the Dark Elves, the consequences would be far more severe than now.

For a moment, they were actually somewhat at a loss.

Sean Brooke found Daisy outside and prepared to take her back to her room to rest.

Looking for Sif was out of the question; she was in no mood for anything else right now, leading patrols all night and not daring to rest for a moment, her heart nearly traumatized.

He would still have to find a way to comfort her later.

Chapter 143: Sincerity is the Most Effective Finishing Move

After a night of deliberation, Odin decided to wait for the enemy to come to him. When the Dark Elveslaunched their next attack, he would no longer hold back and would eliminate them with overwhelming force.

The reason for not taking the initiative was simple: his health was not good. Given his advanced age, if he were to go all out, he would likely head straight to Valhalla on the spot.

However, he was willing to do so if he could eliminate the powerful threat of the Dark Elves for Asgardbefore he died.

Thor, however, did not agree with this decision.

Just look at this time—how many guards died in the Dark Elf invasion? How many more would die when they came back next time?

Therefore, Thor proposed a preemptive strike, with a specific plan divided into three steps.

He would take the Bifrost Bridge over, sweep through the enemy with Mjolnir, and finally take the Bifrost Bridge back.

Simple and clear, it was a classic Thor-style idea.

If there was any growth to speak of, it was that he had considered Jane for a moment, thinking of letting Malekith extract the Aether before killing him.

After hearing Thor's proposal, Odin felt for the second time that he should have another child.

Was this something a king should say? It was something a berserker would say!

Odin's sigh was louder than usual. If only Thor's personality could be blended with Loki's, he would surely be a capable king.

In the end, Odin didn't explicitly reject Thor's proposal; he only said that if Thor could convince Sean to go with him, he would agree.

Although Odin didn't know what Sean's goal was, he was certain that the man had no ill intentions; otherwise, his soul would surely be filthy and wretched.

"So, you came to find me?" Sean's face was written with impatience.

"Yes! This time we can fight side-by-side again!" Thor looked at him with expectant eyes, never even considering that Sean might refuse.

"Daga, kotowaru! (But, I refuse!)"

"Why?" Thor was very confused.

Sean waved his hand. "I can't go, and I can't tell you the reason."

Because he hadn't thought of a reason yet.

"However, I can tell you that your thinking isn't wrong. A preemptive strike is definitely better than passive defense."

"I know." Thor looked ahead with a face full of sorrow.

"But my father has been blinded by hatred and anger, unable to see the situation clearly. Although I am the same, I should be more rational, more... what are you laughing at?"

Pfft!

"Ah, sorry, please continue. I just thought of something happy."

That'something' was Thor thinking he was more rational than Odin.

"I... forget it. Since you also think a preemptive strike is better, why won't you come with me?" Thor's emotional flow was interrupted.

Sean tucked away his smile, patted Thor on the shoulder, and said with feigned mystery:

"Actually, it's not just me who thinks a preemptive strike is good. I believe Odin thinks so too."

"Impossible. If he agreed, he wouldn't stop me from going," Thor said categorically.

"You're wrong. He's not stopping you; he's stopping his child because he doesn't want him to go to his death. In other words, Thor, you're too weak."

Thor's expression was very solemn. Suddenly, he said very earnestly, "I know that. That's why I'm asking you to go with me, isn't it?"

His sincere tone left Sean speechless. Where did the proud God of Thunder of the past go?

His pride was still there; he just tucked it away when facing Sean.

After the Battle of New York, how could Thor not see it? The Chitauri, whom he couldn't wipe out even with his full effort, were nothing more than toys in Sean's eyes.

That day, he remembered that Sean would only come out to eliminate a batch of Chitauri when the situation was about to become untenable, and then he would disappear again, leaving the battlefield to them.

With that leisurely demeanor, anyone could see he wasn't lying. A mere alien army was something he could easily settle alone.

"Sigh, don't you want to grow up a bit?" Sean urged with earnest advice.

He didn't want to get involved in these messy affairs. He barely bothered with Earth, let alone Asgard.

"I've looked at this enemy. He's the type you can't beat, but he can't kill you either. He's perfect for you. I believe if you can kill him, it will be very helpful for your growth."

"As for me, I need to stay here. Odin's condition isn't great. In case the Dark Elves come here, I'll have to step in."

Thor squinted, looking deep in thought. No one knew what he was thinking.

After a long time, he sighed and said, "But without my father's orders, Heimdall won't let me through."

"Regarding that problem, I think there's someone who can help you."

Seeing that he finally understood, Sean also breathed a long sigh of relief. Talking was so difficult; it was much simpler to speak with smart people.

The two arrived at the dungeon. Thor also understood who the person Sean was talking about was.

His expression was heavy. Before, he might have still held a glimmer of hope for Loki, since he was his brother after all, but now, even that hope was gone.

Arriving at the door of Loki's cell, Loki looked at Thor with a surprised face.

"Oh, Thor, finally thought to come see me?"

Thor looked at him coldly without responding. He was indeed completely disappointed in him.

Sean smiled and patted Thor, saying, "He's going to deal with the Dark Elves alone. Do you want to come along?"

The expression on Loki's face froze. Green light flickered, and his arrogant self vanished, replaced by him leaning against the wall, looking utterly despondent as if he had been crying for a long time.

Thor frowned, not understanding what had happened. Just as he was about to ask, Sean stopped him.

"Are you going or not?"

"Did she... suffer?" Loki asked in a murmur.

"It was very peaceful."

Loki's eyes changed. Now was not the time for wallowing. He gritted his teeth and stood up, saying firmly:

"I'm going!"

Leading Thor to a corner, Sean suppressed a smile and whispered, "Ahem, I found a guard last night and had him tell Loki that Frigga had passed away, which is why he's so heartbroken. Hey, don't let it slip."

"Understood."

Thor glanced back at Loki, feeling somewhat conflicted.

He had previously felt that Loki was beyond redemption, but seeing his heartbroken eyes, he couldn't help but want to give him another chance.

Thor also made a silent resolution in his heart: if Loki performed well on this mission, he would go and beg his father to pardon him.

Soon, the two of them, along with Jane, took a small skiff and left Asgard through a secret passage known only to Loki.

Standing on the balcony, watching their departing figures, Odin did not order anyone to pursue them. Instead, he came to where Sean was.

"You're not going to follow them?"

"Don't worry. They're just Dark Elves; Thor can handle them. Besides, this should let him know that a hammer isn't omnipotent."

"Whew, I hope so."

If it were a few years earlier, Odin would never have allowed Thor to take such a risk. But now, his time was indeed running out, and he had to let Thor become a capable king as soon as possible.

Otherwise, let alone being the Lord of the Nine Realms, even Asgard wouldn't be saved.

Chapter 144: Perhaps They Are Just Very Enthusiastic

After tricking—no, persuading—Thor to leave, Sean began his leisurely life in Asgard.

With the achievement of saving the Queen, everyone greeted him warmly now, especially the young women, who would enthusiastically run up to hug him and leave their addresses.

The Warriors Three, who had appeared in New Mexico, also recognized Sean. Last time, after he defeated the Destroyer, the three had mentioned at a banquet that there was a very powerful person on Earth whom even the Destroyer was no match for.

Now that he had also saved the Queen, everyone knew that Sean was not only powerful but also their benefactor, and they had to make him feel the enthusiasm of the Asgardians!

"Sean, Jane and Thor have been gone for two days. Won't there be any danger?" Daisy leaned tightly against his side and asked in a low voice.

"No, the Aether inside Jane must be extracted, otherwise, she won't live long."

The burden of the Infinity Stones on the body is very heavy; an ordinary person like Jane definitely couldn't withstand it for long.

Daisy was nudged by the crowd again. She looked around, her eyes full of vigilance.

"That's good. But, are the hot springs in Asgard all co-ed? You... don't let go. If you let go, I might disappear."

"Cough, perhaps they are just very enthusiastic."

Sean held her hand, going with the flow, without letting go.

At this moment, Sean felt as if he wasn't soaking in a hot spring, but rather amidst the clouds. If it weren't for his Super Breath being useful, he might have been suffocated by the clouds.

Ever since Sean's deeds were revealed, the enthusiastic Asgardians hadn't neglected him for a single day. No matter what time it was, Sean would always be surrounded by a large group of starving... noble and dignified ladies, taking him to see all the scenery of Asgard.

For example, going for picnics in the countryside, visiting seaside bathhouses, visiting their homes, and visiting them.

Daisy had initially wanted to struggle a bit, not wanting her best friend to be snatched away by aliens and then lose her idol as well.

But, when she learned that Asgard's concept of marriage was still stuck in the 2nd century AD, she immediately wanted to drag Sean to immigrate here.

She really wanted to play mind games with a group of Nordic noblewomen surrounding her husband.

After this journey, Sean was even more determined in his idea of finding a place to implement a monarchy. Asgard was quite good, because they were already used to this system and would not have any rebellious emotions.

If the King was still Sean, they would probably even treat it as a reward.

However, there was only one problem now, and that was that there were a few too many people in Asgard. He had to wait, wait for one time, Carnage.

"Sean!" Sif walked over, her armor clanking.

"Oh, Sif, are you done? Come down. Look at you, you smell like sweat."

"Stop with the nonsense. The King wants to see you. We'll talk about other things tonight."

"Odin? What does he want with me?"

Sean said as he climbed out. Sif naturally picked up a towel to wipe him off. The skilled movements made Daisy feel something was wrong. This woman seemed to have appeared during the Battle of New York; she and Sean definitely had secrets.

"Don't run off tonight," Sean whispered in Sif's ear, then flew toward the palace.

Odin certainly wouldn't look for him for no reason. Could it be... he decided to abdicate to me?

Pushing open the heavy doors, there were no guards inside. Only Odin was sitting on the throne, holding the Eternal Spear, looking calm and collected.

"No need for formalities."

Sean frowned, suddenly sensing something, and walked forward with a friendly face.

"Alright!" Odin tapped the Eternal Spear and coughed, saying, "Cough, Malekith has fled to Earth, and Thor and Jane have rushed over. To prevent any accidents, you should go too."

Sean lifted his foot, pointed the sole of his shoe at him, and asked with a smile, "Take a look, do you find this familiar? This is the same shoe that stepped on you last time."

Odin was furious, stood up, and pointed the spearhead at Sean, "What do you mean, how dare you be so disrespectful! I'm going to call..."

"Loki, if you keep acting, I won't be polite."

"Call... I surrender."

A green light flashed over the Odin in front of him, and he turned into Loki.

"How did you find out?"

Loki was very puzzled. It was one thing that the illusion spell couldn't fool him, as there were indeed big loopholes, but he was extremely skilled in transformation spells. His language and demeanor had no flaws at all; it shouldn't have been exposed so quickly.

"Heh, I knew from the attitude of your first sentence." Sean walked up, snatched the Eternal Spear, and looked at it in his hand.

It was just Loki, why be polite to him?

Loki could only force a smile, standing to the side, regretting sending Odin away too early. He suddenly realized that there seemed to be no one here who could stop him.

He was Homelander; he could do whatever he wanted.

After watching for a while, Sean felt bored and casually stuck it into the ground, with no intention of taking it away.

"Although I don't know how you got rid of Odin, of course, I won't interfere in your family affairs. On the contrary, with Odin gone, I can have more fun."

"By the way, remember to open the treasury access for me. Remember to hold banquets. Don't come looking for me if there's nothing going on. I'll go back to Earth when I've had enough fun."

After giving Loki a few instructions to prevent him from not recognizing his own status, he returned to the seaside to continue swimming in the clouds.

Loki, who was standing there in a daze, only sat back on the chair heavily after confirming Sean had left. He reached out to take the Eternal Spear, but he failed again, just like his life.

Looking at the cracked floor, Loki's eyelids twitched twice.

What kind of strength is this? Can Odin really beat him when he returns?

"Someone come!"

Outside the door, two guards quickly came over, knelt on one knee, and respectfully shouted, "Your Majesty, what are your orders?"

The corners of Loki's mouth curled up; this was the voice he wanted to hear.

"Pass down the order: Loki went to Vanaheim to fight the Dark Elves, died in battle for Asgard, and brought peace to the World. I want to cast a statue for him, and the whole nation will pray for him for three days!"

"As you command, Your Majesty."

"Your Majesty, news from the treatment room: the Queen has gained consciousness. Do you want to go take a look?"

Loki's heart skipped a beat, and he almost gave himself away.

"Hmm."

Mother, she is still alive?

The joy of regaining what was lost made Loki a bit excited. He didn't even bring guards, fearing he might make unnatural movements on the way, and hurried to the treatment room.

Outside the door, he took a deep breath before reaching out to push the door open.

Lilei had a smile on her face and bowed to him, "The Queen's condition is good. Just now, the Soul Forge showed that her consciousness has started to become active. Maybe she will wake up soon."

"Well done. You all go out first. I want to spend some time with her alone."

"Yes."

They didn't think much of it and all retreated.

After they left, Loki slowly walked to Frigga's side, took her wrist, and felt her heartbeat and temperature. Loki's eyes were a little moist.

"I regret saying that, but as long as you are okay, Mother."

"It's just that I have to trouble you to sleep here a little longer."

Loki reached out and brushed her face. This magic would only make her fall into a deep sleep and would not have any effect on her body.

"When I prove myself, I will lift the magic on you. By then, you will know that I am the only candidate to be King."

He turned and walked out. Now, he was the God-King of Asgard, Odin!
