Chapter 209 - The Manipulator of Destiny

Inside the Wakandan laboratory, the air was filled with the faint purple glow emitted by the Vibranium, interwoven with the hum of high-tech equipment, as if the entire space was whispering of the future. Shuri stood before a holographic projection device, her fingers rapidly operating the screen in front of her, as a wrist device made of Vibranium material slowly took shape. The core of the device emitted a faint blue light, like a miniature star, sometimes flickering, sometimes still.

"The energy redirection is complete, but it needs one final step," Shuri's voice was calm and composed, her slightly tired face unable to hide the wisdom sparkling in her eyes. She looked up at Tony Stark, who was standing opposite her. Tony, wearing half his suit of armor, stared intently at the device, his tools precisely adjusting tiny components in his hands.

"Just need to optimize the output ratio, and this thing can weaken Rama-Tut's temporal field," Tony adjusted the parameters quickly, a hint of a smile playing on his lips, "This is one of my peak creations, of course, maybe not as practical as a Vibranium coffee mug."

Shuri raised an eyebrow slightly, her operations in her hands not slowing down: "A Vibranium coffee mug won't at least destroy the entire lab, while everything you design is like a ticking time bomb."

Tony chuckled, putting down his tools: "Bombs need art too. Alright, try the current output!"

She pressed the activation button, and the wrist device instantly emitted a piercing low hum. Blue-purple light surged from the center of the device, converging into a miniature energy field. The air in the laboratory seemed to tighten, and the light distorted into faint ripples. Both of them held their breath, watching until the light stabilized and the device rested quietly on the platform, like a sleeping weapon.

Shuri let out a sigh of relief and turned to Tony, nodding: "It can be activated now. As long as the wearer locks onto the target during combat, the device can directly interfere with Rama-Tut's time manipulation, weakening his power."

Tony clapped his hands: "Perfect. This thing is practically the bane of the Time Pharaoh."

Outside the laboratory, a noisy sound of footsteps approached. Dominic pushed open the heavy metal door and walked in, followed by Deadpool, who still had a lollipop in his mouth and his swords crossed behind his back. Miles and Peter casually closed the door with their webs. Logan, chewing on a cigar, walked in last, the black symbiote of Venom slowly flowing on Eddie's arm. America stood with her arms crossed, scanning her surroundings alertly.

"We arrived just in time," Dominic's gaze swept across the laboratory, finally resting on the Vibranium device, "Does it work?"

"Of course it works," Tony raised an eyebrow, "However, it needs someone smart enough to operate it, not some guy who only knows how to chop wood with his claws."

Logan scoffed, blowing out a smoke ring: "At least my claws don't crash in combat."

Deadpool quickly interjected: "Hey, everyone, stop arguing. The important thing is that I'm the most suitable person to wear this thing, after all, my sense of humor and combat skills are unmatched."

"You'd better not touch it," Shuri gave him a cold look, "This is not a toy."

"Oh, of course not," Deadpool waved his hand, "This is specially designed for superheroes, and I happen to be the best superhero in the entire Universe."

America rolled her eyes: "Can you be quiet for a while? We don't have time to waste."

Dominic interrupted everyone's argument, walked up to the device, and examined it carefully before turning to Shuri: "Are there any special requirements for wearing it?"

"The wearer needs to be able to withstand high-intensity energy backlash," Shuri said seriously, "Vibranium can stabilize the output, but the interference from the temporal field can put a great strain on the wearer. In other words, it tests not only strength but also willpower."

Venom's voice came from inside Eddie, low and hoarse: "Sounds perfect for us."

"Don't be in a hurry to grab it," Peter leaned against the wall, his tone slightly teasing, "We haven't decided who is the most suitable person yet."

The atmosphere became briefly silent. Just then, a slight sound of footsteps came from the other side of the laboratory. Everyone turned to look and saw Loki walking in, wearing his usual mocking smile. His gaze fell on the device, with a hint of complex emotion in his eyes.

"You mortals are truly interesting," Loki's voice slowly sounded, as if carrying a certain scrutiny, "To fight a time lord, you place your hope in a fragile toy."

"Loki!" Deadpool immediately jumped up, "Welcome to the messy superhero team! We now have a god, a time-killing device, and a bunch of protagonists saving the World."

Loki ignored Deadpool's nonsense and turned his gaze to the other corner of the laboratory. He saw a makeshift medical bed placed there, on which lay a familiar figure. Thor's face was pale, his brows slightly furrowed, seemingly not fully awake from his coma.

Loki slowly walked towards the medical bed, his voice carrying a hint of deeply hidden complex emotion: "Brother, you are still so reckless."

Thor's fingers moved slightly, as if responding to Loki's whisper.

In the laboratory, the light from the Vibranium device gradually dimmed, but the tension in the air did not lessen at all. Everyone's gazes interwoven invisibly, waiting for the moment of fate that was about to arrive.

The laboratory door slowly slid open, and T'Challa's figure stepped in from outside. He was wearing the Black Panther suit, his helmet retracted, revealing a calm and stern face. His footsteps were silent, yet carried an undeniable pressure. The blue-purple light emanating from the Vibranium Matrix reflected on his face, making him look like a predator emerging from the shadows.

"The Avengers have arrived," T'Challa's voice was low and calm, his gaze sweeping over the people in the laboratory, finally resting on Tony, "Doctor Strange is meeting with them. They want to know our next plan."

Tony stood beside the Vibranium device, his gaze never leaving the holographic screen. While adjusting the final parameters, he replied without looking up: "Oh, they finally decided to interfere? Just in time."

T'Challa's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, his tone carrying a hint of hidden reproach: "Tony, this is a global crisis, not just Wakanda's battle. They are here to offer help."

"Help?" Tony scoffed, finally raising his head, his eyes reflecting a hint of cynicism, "T'Challa, how many times have you seen so-called 'help' turn into a disaster? I don't question their motives, I just don't have confidence in their efficiency."

"And what about your efficiency?" T'Challa retorted, his tone still steady, but his gaze like a knife, "Are you confident in solving Rama-Tut's threat?"

Tony was silent for a moment, then spread his hands, with his usual flippancy: "If you're asking about the Vibranium Matrix, it's ready to work. If you're asking about my relationship with Captain—well, that's another unsolvable battle."

Deadpool leaned against a laboratory table nearby, chewing on a piece of candy, and chimed in happily: "Hey hey hey, this is gossip time! The relationship between Captain and Tony is even more dramatic than a Korean drama! T'Challa, do you want to hear about it? I promise to make it vivid."

"Shut up," T'Challa gave him a cold glance, his tone carrying undeniable authority.

"Wow, okay, His Majesty the Black Panther has spoken, I'll shut up," Deadpool assumed an exaggerated posture of surrender.

T'Challa's gaze returned to Tony, with a hint of inquiry: "Your conflict with Captain cannot be an obstacle to this battle. If you are still holding onto the past, now is not the time to settle personal grudges."

Tony sighed, and the movements of his hands slowed down. He tapped the table with his knuckles, his voice low: "I know now is not the time. But the question is, does he know?"

Dominic leaned against a pillar in the laboratory, calmly observing the conversation. His gaze swept over T'Challa and Tony, then he spoke lightly: "Personal conflicts are not important, victory is. If your relationship will affect the plan, settle it here, otherwise don't let it become a problem."

"He's right," T'Challa nodded, his gaze turning to the Vibranium device, "The fate of Wakanda and everyone on Earth rests on this. We cannot make any mistakes."

Tony raised an eyebrow, a sarcastic smile playing on his lips: "Don't worry, Your Majesty, I won't let personal feelings ruin the entire Universe. That's your royal family's specialty, not mine."

The air in the laboratory briefly froze for a moment. T'Challa was not provoked by the taunt. He just stared at Tony, a hint of complexity added to his gaze: "My royal family's specialty is protecting Wakanda. That includes protecting ungrateful outsiders like you."

Peter quietly approached Miles and whispered: "I think this place is about to explode."

Miles nodded, whispering back: "Tony and Black Panther's conversation like this could totally be a reality show."

Loki stood aside, maintaining his detached stance. He raised an eyebrow slightly, a faint smile appearing on his lips: "You mortals, you always like to use arguments to cover up your incompetence."

T'Challa ignored Loki's mockery and turned to Dominic: "The use of the Vibranium Matrix requires precise control. Have you decided who will wear it?"

Dominic replied in a deep voice: "The wearer will have to bear huge risks in combat. It's not an easy decision."

"Then decide quickly," T'Challa's tone was calm and decisive, "We don't have much time left."

The atmosphere in the laboratory became even more tense. The hum emitted by the Vibranium device was like some invisible urging. Everyone looked at each other, as if waiting for the final decision. Tony's gaze lingered on the Vibranium Matrix for a moment, then he straightened up, reached out and pressed the switch on the device. The blue-purple light surged again, enveloping the entire laboratory in a mysterious glow.
