Turning, her eyes met the most biggest building she had ever seen. It sure was big as stated in the novel but the Black Empire was more bigger and attractive and it was just across the street
'Wow, it sure is beautiful' She commented
Making her way into the White group building, walking with so much confidence and her head high. All heads turned to her.
Although, Elena White was known to be a clingy woman forcing herself on a man, she still made heads turn and men drool. She was a beauty.
She walked towards the elevator, pressing the top floor. She remembers everything after reading the novel.
Opening the door to her office, she was surprised to see her guests. Thinking back to this scene in the novel, she can't really recall Elena White meeting her parents this morning
'Oh!' she smacked her head 'Remember you shocked their bones last night'
With a sweet smile, she walked to her table, dropping her bag gently before placing herself gently on the swivel chair.
"To whom do I owe this august visit?" She crossed her legs, folded her arms, offering them a smile
"What nonsense did you spit out last night?" Her eyes turned to her supposed father, what was his name? Ah! George
She tilted her head "As far as I can remember, I don't think anything I said last night should be considered 'nonsense' as you said" Still she was all on smiles, but behind that smile lies a cold and threatening gaze
Alvera rose up in anger "Did you think of the consequences of your actions?"
Elena pouted her lips " I only said what I wanted, how is that having any consequence?"
Alvera walked towards her table, standing at her front,she glared at her "What has come over you,Elena?, one moment you are insisting on marring the Black Empire's son and another moment, you are breaking it off, what do you take us for?"
Elena watched as the old woman yelled, a smirk crept to her face
"I am not getting married to anyone" The moment she ended her sentence, she was greeted with a loud slap
She held her face in pain. Well, this was unexpected, Elena White never got a slap from her mother. Now, she can understand how she turned into a pathetic young lady
'Can her life ever be good?' She thought to herself. Annoying parents here and there
"You would not give me that speech, young lady"
"Calm down, Alvera" George was trying to calm her
She raised her head to look at the furious looking woman
"You are getting married, like it or not!" The woman spat about to leave but stopped in her tracks when she heard her daughter laughing
"Marriage?, is that favouring you or me?" Elena was furious too, how can she have the same life routine. All her real parents ever sang into her ears were 'Get married' 'I have set up a blind date for you' and now here she was experiencing the same thing?
'At least, here she was wealthy and not being pestered and pressured to bring home some money'
"What did you say?" Alvera turned back
"This marriage thing, is it favouring you or me?" Elena repeated her question. Of course, the Elena White in the novel didn't just wake up one morning and decided to marry Adrian Black. Her parents had asked her to do it. So, why would she get a slap from them?
Because she was cutting it off?
