Adrian couldn't concentrate on his dinner, he wondered what his mother was saying to Elena. Although, he knew his mother loves Elena but he couldn't help but worry
Sighing, he dropped his cutlery and gulped a cup of water. He stood up and wanted to walk upstairs to his room but then someone entered his house
"Lilah?, why are you here?"
"Are you sad to see me?" She pouted crossing her arms over her chest
Adrian raised his eyebrows, Lilah walked to sit on the couch "I'm famished, Adrian"
"Then why are you here?"
"Why are you being cold all of a sudden? Something bothering you?"
He sighed sitting across her, "Just work"
After some minutes,
"Elena is breaking off the engagement? Is that why you are bothered?"
He closed his eyes tightly not answering
"If she is not interested...what are you planning then?"
"I am getting married to her, Lilah"
"But she doesn't want to, are you going to force yourself on her?"
He opened his eyes staring at her "What are you saying?"
Lilah stood up joining him on his couch, she took his hands in her hands "Adrian...I am the one for you, you know that? What happened to the promise we made when we were small to be together"
He sighed again, it was indeed true, that was why everyone had wanted him to get married to Lilah and not Elena
"Lilah...it.."
"I know!, I know it is benefitting your empire to get married to the white group's daughter but..Adrian.." she held his hands tightly "Would you break the promise we made just because of that? Hmm?"
"Lilah, I'm sorry, I know we promised each other but..you should know that this is now what I want"
"What you want? So I'm nothing now? Why do you think i chose to remain single all these while? I was waiting for you Adrian, would you let all my waiting be in vain? You shouldn't do this Adrian" she whispered pleading to him
Adrian stared at her, she was his first love and that has been for twenty years till the white group brought their daughter to him...but would he really hurt his first love just for some girl he just fell in love with?
Lilah wrapped her hands around him, she placed her head on his chest "Please Adrian...don't do this to me" she looked up at him tears around in her eyes "I love you and I know you do too, let's just be together and forget any other thing, please" she placed back her head on his chest hugging him tightly
