I was anxiously pacing around the room wondering why I was feeling so distraught over something that just made 'sense' in this sort of world; of course people were looking to get pregnant whenever and however they could, and of course something that I saw as a serious matter wasn't as serious as I was making it out to be.
Logically speaking I was the idiot and they were the 'smarter' ones because of how they were going about things; finding a strong and capable partner to have a child with was likely one of the key parts of practically everyone here, and being a member of the Academy just sort of meant that your capability was 'guaranteed'.
They wanted to have our babies simply because the likelihood of said babies carrying strong genes to the next generation was high, and that would then equate to a stronger population for a stronger community.
