Chapter 191 - 《DXD: Multiverse Journey》Chapter 191: Love-Filled Cookies—Bigamy? That's a Crime!

10:20 AM, a typical morning at Raizen High.

In one of the classrooms, the air buzzed with the energy of a cooking lesson in full swing. Most of the participants were girls—boys joined only if they felt like it, which explained the lopsided ratio.

At the back of the room, all eyes were fixed on an unusual scene.

Two girls—both beautiful, both wearing adorable pink kitchen aprons—stood before Shuo Nangong, who looked like he'd just rolled out of bed. Each held out a box of freshly baked cookies, faces full of anticipation.

"Shuo! The teacher showed us how to make cookies, and I paid super close attention in class. Try mine!" Tohka thrust her box forward, her eyes sparkling with hope, looking every bit the model student desperate for praise.

"Mine too. I baked these myself. You should try mine first." Origami was quick to follow, placing a neat box of square cookies on the desk. Her expression was as blank as ever, but Shuo caught the flicker of nervous excitement in her eyes.

They looked, for all the world, like two devoted wives vying for their husband's approval.

Staring at the cookies, Shuo's mind wandered—he couldn't help but recall Anna-senpai's legendary love-filled cookies. For a moment, nostalgia mixed with anticipation.

But before he could say a word, Tohka's jealousy flared. She shot Origami a lethal glare. "Hey, robot, stop copying me!"

Origami didn't flinch. "I outperformed you in both timing and technique."

"No way! Your cookies can't possibly taste good."

Tohka, unable to resist, snatched one of Origami's cookies and popped it into her mouth. Her face melted into bliss for a split second—pure, unfiltered enjoyment. But pride snapped her back to reality, and she quickly masked her delight with a haughty sniff.

"Hmph. It's nothing special. Shuo, you should eat mine instead."

Not to be outdone, Origami nudged her box closer. "No, eat mine."

Watching the two of them squabble over cookies, Shuo could only sigh. He picked up one cookie from each box, tasting them in turn.

Origami's cookies were exactly what he expected—precise, delicious, textbook perfect. But Tohka's, despite being her first attempt, were surprisingly good. No disasters, no burnt edges—just genuine effort and a touch of sweetness.

Both were great, honestly.

Just as Shuo was about to offer his verdict, the girls started bickering again.

Tohka, spotting the smile on his face, lifted her chin with pride. "Told you—mine's better!"

Origami countered, deadpan, "You ate mine 0.001 seconds earlier."

Tohka gaped. "How can you even measure that?!"

The argument threatened to spiral, so Shuo stepped in, ruffling both their hair. "Alright, alright—enough. Both of your cookies are amazing. Next time you bake, I'll be first in line to taste them!"

Tohka basked in the head-pat, her cheeks glowing with happiness. Even Origami's icy facade cracked, a tiny smile tugging at her lips. Of course, the moment their eyes met, both girls huffed and turned away, refusing to admit defeat.

A giggle broke the tension. "You two get along so well!"

They turned—Shiori stood nearby, also clad in a pink apron, holding a box of cookies that looked suspiciously similar to Tohka's.

"Whoa, Shiori made cookies too?"

She smiled shyly. "Want to try one, Shuo-kun?"

He didn't hesitate, snatching a cookie and devouring it in a few bites. He flashed a thumbs-up. "Delicious! Shiori, you'd make an amazing wife."

The words slipped out before he could stop them. Shiori's cheeks flared red, and she ducked her head, flustered by the blunt compliment.

Tohka, puzzled, turned to Shuo. "Shuo, what's a 'wife'?"

Origami, surprisingly helpful, launched into an explanation. "A wife is—" She rattled off the definition, while Tohka listened intently.

The moment Origami finished, she made her move. "Someday, I'm going to be Shuo's perfect wife!"

She wrapped herself around Shuo's arm, her face blooming with color.

"Nani?! Robot, what do you mean?! You're not Shuo's wife—I am! Back off!" Tohka immediately latched onto Shuo's other arm, glaring daggers at Origami.

"No, I'm his wife!"

"Wrong, I am!"

"..."

Shuo could only watch, helpless, as the two girls declared war over his marital status. Classic.

Suddenly, he felt the weight of a dozen hostile stares. The entire class was watching, and the mood turned dangerous.

"Scumbag! Two-timing bastard!"

"Correction—three-timing! Don't forget Shiori!"

"He stole all three of our class beauties!"

"Can't he leave us even a crumb?"

"Wait, isn't this illegal? That's bigamy!"

"..."

Shiori, caught in the crossfire, blushed even deeper. When did I become Shuo-kun's wife…?

But when she glanced up at Shuo, something strange fluttered in her chest.

As for Shuo, he swept the room with a glare sharp enough to silence every jealous boy in the crowd. Not one dared whisper after that.

Bunch of wimps.
