Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 – The Forbidden Truth

Inside the dimly lit laboratory, the scent of chemicals and iron filled the air. Veylor sat in front of a glowing screen, while kael leaned back in his chair, watching with narrowed eyes. On the screen flickered images of Lothar, Light, and Hikari.

Veylor (calmly):

"As far as we know about these 'powerful humans,' the story begins over a thousand years ago. An extraordinary man appeared — a being with unbelievable powers. He could heal wounds, he could soar through the skies. The people of that era worshipped him as a god.

But that so-called god was no mere man. He rose to power and became ruler of the entire world. And when he passed on, he left his kingdom divided into five lands, gifting each to his descendants. That was the beginning of the Five Kingdoms we see today."

Kael (frowning):

"You're telling me stories I already know. Every drunk in the taverns knows this myth. You said you had real information, veylor."

Veylor's lips curved into a thin smile.

Veylor:

"Patience, kael. You know the legend, yes. But as a scientist, I reject the idea that he was a god. My theory is far different — he was an alien, not a divine being. And his descendants… hybrids. Half-human, half-alien. That's why they wield powers beyond ordinary men."

Kael raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. Veylor continued, his voice steady.

"Among his descendants, one bloodline was far more cruel and greedy than the rest. The direct lineage — the Draekor. While the other rulers kept peace, the Draekor desired more. They wanted the world. Their hunger for conquest plunged the kingdoms into endless wars. It was because of them that hatred still lingers today."

He adjusted his glasses, his eyes briefly flashing with cold satisfaction.

Veylor:

"The last great war wiped out nearly all of them… nearly. And with their fall, the world finally found a fragile peace. But the scars remain. The other kingdoms still hate each other. Especially those who suffered under the central Kingdom — the land once ruled by the Draekor."

Kael crossed his arms.

Kael:

"Fine. But that doesn't explain your experiments. Or why you need me."

Veylor:

"Curiosity, kael. That's my only sin. I've dedicated my life to uncovering the truth of hybrids and Kaijus. And for that truth… I need Hikari. She is the last surviving Draekor. The final piece of my puzzle."

Kael's eyes widened slightly.

Kael:

"…So that's your game. But tell me this—what about the Kaijus? What are they really? You've been cutting them open, dissecting them. You must know something."

Veylor leaned forward, his voice dropping into a whisper as though he were speaking forbidden knowledge.

Veylor:

"Yes… I've studied them for years. Their bodies are made entirely of Voltra, the very energy hybrids wield. At first I thought they were ancient beasts, but no… Kaijus are born from them. From hybrids.

Every time a hybrid uses Voltra — whether in training or in war — that energy doesn't vanish. It lingers in the world, corrupts the air, the land. Over time, it condenses… until it gives birth to Kaijus. In short, Kaijus are the living byproducts of Voltra itself. The stronger the hybrid, the deadlier the Kaiju that eventually emerges.

They are monsters created by hybrids own hands."

Kael's face darkened. For once, he was speechless.

Veylor smirked, leaning back in his chair.

Veylor:

"And that, kael, is why I need Hikari. With her, I can finally end this cycle. Or perhaps… perfect it."

The screen shifted, showing Hikari's image once more. Her eyes glowed faintly crimson in the photo.

The lab fell silent, save for the quiet hum of machines.
