Chapter 82 - Chapter 81 – Blood in Shirakawa

Javier Kato's footsteps faltered as he reached the edge of his home. The air smelled of iron and smoke, thick and choking, a sharp contrast to the crisp morning he had left behind. His heart beat like a drum in his chest, each thump resonating with a sense of impending doom. Something was terribly wrong.

He sprinted forward, hands trembling, aura flickering faintly like a candle in a storm. The door to his house had been torn from its hinges, splintered wood littering the floor. His breath caught in his throat as he stepped inside.

The scene that greeted him was worse than anything he could have imagined. His father lay crumpled against the wall, blood soaking the front of his simple tunic. His mother was sprawled across the floor, her face pale, eyes wide in shock even in death. Blood pooled beneath her, sticky and dark, curling into cracks in the wooden floor.

Javier's legs buckled, and he fell to his knees, hands reaching for them, shaking uncontrollably.

> "No… no, no, no…" he whispered, voice breaking. His chest heaved, and tears ran freely, carving paths down his dirt-streaked face.

The quiet room, once filled with laughter and warmth, had become a tomb. Every small detail — the broken furniture, the scattered belongings, the scent of blood mixed with smoke — screamed of horror. His younger sister, Yumi, was nowhere to be seen. Only a torn scarf and a small doll lay on the floor, drenched in crimson, the faint trace of a struggle marking her absence.

The flood of grief hit him like a tidal wave, and his aura, small until now, flared violently. Scarlet sparks flickered along his hands, his heart, his eyes. The divine energy seeded by Lord Gautam Buddha coursed faintly through him, igniting latent potential he had never known existed.

> "Why… why did this happen?" he demanded, voice raw with anguish. His eyes glowed faintly as his hands clenched into fists, the aura surrounding him trembling with his rising fury.

A mocking laugh echoed from the shadows, low and cruel. A demon, one of the Scarlet Demon's minions, stepped forward from the corner of the room. Its eyes glimmered with malice, teeth bared as it gnawed on the remains of Javier's mother, enjoying the terror it had wrought.

> "So much pain… so much fear… all for me to savor," it hissed, voice dripping with contempt.

Javier felt his chest tighten, fury eclipsing grief. His aura erupted, a wave of energy expanding violently, shaking the house. The demon froze, startled, as a faint golden glow intertwined with Javier's growing aura. Every instinct screamed at him to strike, to punish, to avenge.

> "Leave… her… alone!" Javier roared. His voice, amplified by his awakening aura, resonated like thunder, shaking the walls and floor.

In a blur of motion, Javier lunged forward. His hands, infused with golden-scarlet energy, struck the demon with a force that obliterated it in a single motion. The air split with the impact, a shockwave throwing splinters of wood and debris outward. The demon's scream echoed briefly, then faded into nothing, leaving only silence.

Javier dropped to his knees again, chest heaving. The realization of what had happened settled over him like a heavy fog. His family was gone. The people he loved most in the world had been torn from him in an instant. Yet in the grief, in the burning rage, something extraordinary began to take shape.

From the devastation, faint golden threads of energy — the aura granted by Buddha — began to swirl around Javier. His heart raced, and a warmth spread from within, mingling with his grief and rage. It was faint at first, like the spark of a candle, then grew, feeding on the injustice, the pain, and the injustice that had been done to him.

> "I… I will not let this happen to anyone else," he whispered, voice trembling but resolute. "I will fight… I will protect… I will avenge…"

The remnants of his aura coalesced into something tangible, glowing like molten gold and crimson intertwined. His hands shook as they trembled with the new force coursing through him. The room seemed to vibrate with the intensity of his awakening, the walls and ceiling responding to his sudden surge of power.

For the first time, Javier felt the weight of true strength — not just physical, but spiritual, the very essence of life and determination. His parents' souls, faint and shimmering in the periphery of his awareness, seemed to reach out to him, their whispers barely audible:

> "Protect others, Javier… carry the light forward…"

Javier's breath caught as he looked around at the devastation, absorbing the enormity of what had occurred. Pain, rage, grief — all of it coalesced into his first act of awakening. He understood now that he could not remain helpless. The world was dark, filled with monsters and chaos, but he carried within him a spark that could resist.

> "I will rise," he vowed, voice steadying despite the tears. "I will become stronger… and I will stop this darkness."

The village lay in ruin, the bodies of innocents scattered, rivers of blood staining the earth. Yet amid the carnage, one boy had begun to rise — Javier Kato, the first of the Aura Wielders. His journey, born in tragedy, had begun.

And as the first faint sparks of his power ignited, the world around him shivered, sensing that a new force had awakened — one that would grow to challenge even the Scarlet Demon's relentless, crimson shadow.
