A look of irritation flashed across the young man's face. "Emma, are you looking down on us? You may be strong, but don't forget, we're not pushovers either. Don't make me talk to my father and have him speak to your family about how you're supposed to behave."
"Why don't you go ahead and do whatever you want, Frederick?"
Another girl stepped ahead. "Emma, I think you should consider your decision."
"I am not going to change my decision, Linda."
The young man, Frederick's jaw tightened. "I hope you don't regret it." With that, he turned around and walked away. Linda waited for a few seconds, then sighed and left as well.
Meanwhile, a girl sitting beside Emma had been watching the entire drama unfold. In truth, the whole class had been murmuring about it, but she stood out because she had been smiling the entire time, mischievously.
