Meredith also seemed unsure, "I haven't heard anything about the reason, maybe there's some personal grudge?"
"Henry Hughes doesn't seem like the kind of person who'd hit someone over a minor issue, and Julian Fairchild isn't that kind of person either." Maeve Lane leaned back on her chair, her tone casual, "I'm really a bit curious."
Meredith looked at her eyes and said, "Weren't you into Julian Fairchild before? Why are you now talking all about Henry Hughes?"
Maeve Lane replied, "Because he's my friend. You can have many boyfriends, but good friends are rare, and it's hard to find someone who suits my taste."
Meredith pursed her lips, "I really feel a bit sorry for Julian Fairchild."
"Why?" Maeve Lane was puzzled, "Meredith, why are you siding with him? Look at how people are talking about me outside!"
Meredith rolled her eyes and said, "Seeing how calm you are, you don't look affected at all. They're saying you were rejected and whatnot, but I don't think you're upset."
