Henry Hughes's eyes deepened slightly, "What's wrong?"
Maeve Lane frowned, the black shirt made her small face appear so pale it seemed reflective, and by contrast, her lips were even more rosy, giving an impression of allure and indifference.
After a moment of silence, Maeve said, "You don't need to stay with me anymore."
Henry paused, slowly tightening his hand into a fist, trying to make his voice sound less tense, "Why?"
"No reason, I feel fine now." Maeve hastened her speech, "Thank you for the past few days."
"You don't have to be polite with me." Henry looked at her, "Also, no need to rush me away."
Maeve's brows slightly moved, "I..."
She opened her mouth but said nothing.
She instinctively wanted to say, that's not what I meant.
But in reality, that was exactly what she meant in her heart.
She truly didn't want Henry Hughes to waste any more time on her.
But saying it like that, would it come off as being pretentious?
