"Interstellar virtual network... I wonder which galaxy zone I'm in now..." The virtual network is truly vast, and for management convenience, residents who log in from one galaxy appear in the same galaxy zone. Of course, if you want to cross to another galaxy zone, it's simple; just click on the cross-zone hub. Thanks to the interstellar network, the covered areas have formed into a "universal village."
As she walked out of the circle of light, the person next to her seemed to disdain something dirty on her, stepping aside two paces as they passed by her.
Turning to look at the glass mirror by the road, she silently sighed. The clothes she was wearing were clean but faded from too much washing, the cuffs and collar were fraying, looking rather shabby, almost like a beggar in these people's eyes.
Meanwhile, everyone passing by was dressed in fine suits, shrouded in fragrance and elegance; in her outfit, she indeed stood out.
But, she wasn't here for a ball, so there was no need to dress so elegantly. As long as she wasn't running around naked, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. Su Jiameng murmured secretly, stood tall, head up, wearing a calm and proud expression, unmoved by the looks from others.
Finding the Mecha Fighting Arena of this galaxy, she directly clicked to teleport there. Her vision darkened and then brightened, and she arrived at her destination.
This Mecha Fighting Arena is open to the public. Spectators wanting to watch a match can buy tickets ranging from 1 to 10 credit points depending on the match's level. For ordinary people, this is no problem at all; spending a small amount to watch real Mecha Masters battle is totally worth it. But for someone like Su Jiameng, whose pocket was emptier than her face was clean, it was outrageously expensive!
"Miss, the spectator entrance is over there."
"I'm not a spectator, I'm here to compete," Su Jiameng said flatly; the look in the other person's eyes was truly irksome.
The person, however, maintained professionalism and quickly composed their expression, saying formally, "Please show your Mecha Master certification badge. If you don't have it, you can fill out a participant identity form..."
"Um, please give me the form." Su Jiameng quickly scanned it, then swiftly filled in her information and handed it over.
The person took the form, breaking into a sweat upon seeing it. Apart from name, nickname, gender, and age, every other field was blank, "This?"
"The others aren't mandatory... is this enough?" Su Jiameng didn't like revealing her real information on the virtual net, ever since she met someone with telekinesis who could use his special power to steal personal data off the interstellar network with ease, she's been very protective of her true identity information.
Keeping the 'more skills more you know' principle, Su Jiameng sought guidance from this person, for using telekinesis to steal information is easier and more convenient than hacking into intelligent systems. But everyone has their specialization; Su Jiameng excels at using telekinesis in combat, and information stealing is not her field, she learned it only superficially.
Her words left the receptionist speechless, and though displeased, they continued her registration. However, this wasn't enough. If she wanted to compete, she needed to pass a basic test and get the Mecha Master license. Despite Su Jiameng's attitude inflaming him, he carried on reluctantly, "Turn left as you go in, then find the basic examination room..."
There weren't many people in the basic examination room, even fewer were taking the test. Looking at the assessment form handed by the staff, Su Jiameng's forehead broke a thick black line... Passing these tests labeled you a Mecha Master; since when did Mecha Master qualifications become so cheap?
But what Su Jiameng didn't know was that because the number of Mecha Masters was increasing daily, to accommodate the masses, the threshold had naturally lowered. Military Mecha credentials still had high standards, but this Mecha Fighting Arena was a civilian organization after all.
"No challenge at all..." With the complete Mecha Master certification badge in hand, she could now apply at the competition platform, awaiting the system's grouping for matches.
But before that, she needed to obtain a basic mecha. Although she didn't mind wielding a laser particle sword for combat, the tournament officials wouldn't likely schedule her matches that way. Staring at the drab humanoid mecha, Su Jiameng sorely missed the mechas she had piloted, they were truly high-end, grand, and classy...
