Chapter 41 - Chapter 25: Rising Fame

"Wu Xia, you're here so early?"

Wang Shengyu helped Li Qinxue to the front.

Wu Xia smiled and said, "We live nearby, and my husband wanted to walk over by himself, so we came earlier."

"No wonder."

Wang Shengyu looked at Li Qinxue with a smile, "Mom, this is Wu Xia whom I just mentioned to you. Her husband is also treated by Dr. Lu, and you wouldn't know, but Wu Xia's husband was in a more severe condition than yours."

"Really?" Though her daughter had told her about meeting someone to give Lu Xuan a banner, it was the first time she heard about Wu Xia's husband, and she was quite surprised.

She knew her own condition well enough to know it was life-threatening if untreated, and she could clearly feel her body deteriorating each day. Even if she recovered later, her kidneys would undergo organic changes, and it wouldn't be the same as before.

She was like this, but didn't expect the other party's condition to be even more severe.

"Auntie, you have no idea, we were discharged just two days ago, and City First Hospital couldn't improve his condition after five days of emergency care, they directly told us to go home and prepare for the worst..."

At this point, Wu Xia's eyes turned red, "If I hadn't heard about a particularly skilled Dr. Lu at the Health Center, my husband would have..."

"My dear, it's all better now."

Li Qinxue stepped forward to gently hug Wu Xia, the two women, at this moment, shared the same feelings, and cried like they were in tears together.

Hu Meiqiao quietly watched from the side, not saying anything, but her expression was somewhat complicated.

Especially when looking at Wu Xia, she felt a bit guilty.

At that time, if it weren't for Lu Xuan's insistence, it would have been hard to say whether Wu Xia's husband would have been cured, or even alive today.

As for Li Qinxue, she wasn't clear, but someone coming the next day to give a banner was evidently not for some simple illness.

The two women, one old and one young, hugged and cried for a while before separating under Wang Shengyu's comforting words, "Mom, Wu Xia, why don't we go home to cry later? After all, this is the Health Center, with people coming and going, it doesn't look good."

Li Qinxue glared at her daughter.

The two separated and wiped the tears from their eyes.

Wu Xia looked at Hu Meiqiao and introduced, "Sister Shengyu, this is Dean Hu from the Health Center."

"Hello, Dean Hu."

Only now did Wang Shengyu notice Hu Meiqiao beside them, initially thinking she was some elder relative of Wu Xia's, and didn't expect her to be the dean of the Health Center.

"Hello."

Hu Meiqiao smiled and shook hands with her.

"Dean Hu, we're going to look for Dr. Lu now," Wu Xia turned and said to Hu Meiqiao, and the four of them were about to head to the second-floor traditional Chinese medicine department.

At this time, Hu Meiqiao smiled and said, "I'll go with you."

The group was taken aback for a moment, then nodded, and Li Qinxue thanked her, "Thank you, Dean Hu."

"Oh, no trouble at all, besides, you're giving Little Lu a banner, that's an honor for our Health Center as well."

With that, they headed straight to the second floor.

Before they arrived, Hu Meiqiao's hearty laughter reached Lu Xuan's ears, "Lu, Ms. Wang and Ms. Wu are here to give you a banner."

The voice wasn't loud, but it instantly caught everyone's attention on the second floor.

Especially in the laboratory department, where many were already queuing for blood tests, upon hearing Hu Meiqiao, they all gazed over.

Laboratory Department.

Like the others, hearing Dean Hu Meiqiao's voice, Wang Youqing instinctively looked over at the group emerging from the elevator.

"Did Dr. Lu really save someone from whom the First Hospital had issued a death notice?" Laboratory technician Li curiously murmured upon seeing them.

"Yes, they came over once yesterday after work," Wang Youqing, the only one in the laboratory who knew, explained, "Yesterday Little Lu checked the pulse, and they've already passed the danger. Now it's just about rest and recovery."

"Did he really save someone?"

"Dr. Lu is amazing!"

The young nurse sitting at the window, drawing blood from a patient, said admiringly, "It's only been two weeks, and several people have already come to give banners. Those big-shots at the big hospitals aren't nearly this impressive."

"Definitely not!"

"In big hospitals, if those big-shots get a banner from a patient once every year or so, that's considered good," Li pouted.

"Uncle, didn't that patient at the end come yesterday? Aren't they also here to give Dr. Lu a banner?"

"Didn't you hear what the dean just said?" Wang Youqing looked at Li irritably.

Li scratched the back of his head, embarrassed, "Just a bit curious, but uncle, do you know what's going on? They came in the morning yesterday, stayed in the traditional Chinese medicine department all afternoon, and left just before closing, what illness is it exactly?"

Li asked curiously.

"Focus on your work, don't get distracted."

Wang Youqing admonished him but still shared what he knew, "I heard from Little Lu that it was postoperative urinary retention after rectal cancer surgery, lasting for half a month. They went to the First Hospital and Ninth Hospital, tried catheterization, but it didn't succeed. They heard about Little Lu somewhere, so they came with a mindset of giving it a try, and to their surprise, it got better immediately."

Upon hearing this, everyone in the laboratory was stunned.

This was no minor ailment!

Urinary retention might not sound severe, but retaining urine for half a month puts enormous stress on the kidneys, something they didn't even want to imagine, and failing catheterization implies how hard it was to treat. Unexpectedly, in Lu Xuan's hands, it took just one day to resolve.
