With a squelch, the greatsword pierced its throat, and the massive figure let out a wail, falling heavily to the ground.
The Guard Captain retrieved his blood-stained greatsword, looking at the giant bear in front of him, then signaled to the others to continue moving forward.
The Shadow Leader and Rogel watched it all silently.
"That bear was driven out."
"Get ready; the real show is about to begin."
Rogel lifted his hand slightly, and the Blackthorn Spellbook appeared in his hand, its pages rustling open as power emerged.
The Shadow Leader took the large rectangular box handed over by a subordinate and walked to Rogel.
