(At Class D. Results are out on the white board.)
SHELLY
I hope that everyone has seen their results. Now, I want us to take a look at our mean score. It is at 73.8. which is a good mean score. But we are still at Class D. we haven't gone one step ahead to be at Class C, B or A. Take a look at the other classes mean score.
(The mean score of Classes A, B and C are shown.)
MEAN SCORE
ClassA-76.5 ClassB-74.7 ClassC-74.0 ClassD-73.8
(Shelly continues on.)
SHELLY
The reason why we didn't climb the ladder maybe to become Class C was because of 2 individuals. Grace Park and Stewart Yeong. The two of you stand up.
(Grace and Stewart stand up. Both of their eyes are downcast.)
SHELLY
If we remove them from the mean score, the score would have been 79.7. That means you would have automatically become Class A academically. And prove to the teachers that this class isn't a bottom tier class. But yet, you entertain people who bring down the class mean score.
JUWON
[Damn, this is serious. 2 people have let down our class.]
SHELLY
I have no issues with Grace because at least she is one mark to pass mark I can defend her from being expelled. But Stewart. Your services are not needed in this school. You are to pack your bags and leave the school facilities. You are the first person to score a one in this entire school.
(TOP laughs in the background.)
SHELLY
Tell me, how can you score a one. And yet everything we learnt so far was basically introduction. And teachers were really complaining about your papers. You are leaving blank spaces. Blank spaces on multiple choice questions. I even heard that you were able to get past papers to cram the answers because the exams were on repeat.
STEWART
…
SHELLY
And yet, you couldn't get any question correct. I know you were going to say the questions were reverted. But still you should get one question right. And you know that one mark was added out of sympathy because the school system never reads zero when it comes to putting in marks. So you were given one mark by the computer's sympathy. You know. Do you know why you didn't reach the 40 mark? You are very lazy. And that laziness has costed you to be expelled from school. Grace, you can sit down. You are not going to be expelled. The school board has given you a chance to stay in this school. But next time, if you don't reach 40 in your exam you are going to be expelled.
GRACE
Thank you so much.
(She sits down.)
SHELLY
Stewart, go and pack your stuff.
(Stewart quietly leaves the classroom.)
SUKINI
I feel bad for him.
KEVIN
Yeah. He was our friend.
TOP
He really lives up to the nickname that Juwon gave him Stewpid. Puhahahahaha!
HANNA
Don't you have sympathy for your friend? He just got expelled.
TOP
Nope. He let our class down. If it wasn't for him, we would have been in Class A by now.
JUWON
You forgot to add Grace in that equation.
JUHI
Hey, Grace was let off from the hook.
JUSTIN
This would put our class in a bad reputation. Our class has 1 student who is now expelled.
KHLOE
Well, Stewart deserved to be expelled.
HAKI
Is there a way we can bring him back? Like using the credits system?
BEN
Yeah. Since, everything runs on the Credit system. Juwon, you said that before.
JUWON
Yeah, I did say that.
SHELLY
Are you guys done talking? Anyways, that means the exams are over doesn't mean learning has ended. However, since all of our class' mean score is actually good. The school board has decided to take all of you out on a cruise ship trip. So, make sure you have your swim suits ready. And always be on your guard because a special exam might take place.
LISA
What is a special exam?
SHELLY
Good question Lisa. A special exam is an exam that tests on your critical thinking, your creativity, your team work and your leadership qualities. For example, if you were told to survive in an island for a week. You will be tested if you can find a good camping spot as a class. How to find basic stuff like food, how to set up a tent, and so on. Unlike academically, you are graded with marks. This special exams, you get graded with credits. A class can get awarded a million credits if they pass the special exam.
CLASS
Ehhh?!
SHELLY
That is an example. The cruise ship trip will be on Friday. So, this remaining days, I want you to prepare yourselves.
(She leaves the classroom.)
TOP
Too bad, Stewpid is going to miss this awesome trip. I mean we are going to be on a cruise ship. A cruise ship! Imagine, the kind of fun stuff we can do over there. We would almost be in the top class.
GRACE
You don't feel bad for your friend Stewart.
TOP
He wasn't my friend to begin with. He was Sukini's and Kevin's friend. Should you go and say your goodbyes to him.
JUWON
Wait. It is early for Stewpid to get expelled. We need him back.
TOP
Why do you need him back?
JUWON
To call him Stewpid again.
TOP
Hahahahahahaha! Good one.
HANNA
Can you be serious for a moment, Oppa? And stop calling Stewart, stupid. It is not nice.
JUWON
It's Stewpid not stupid. And his name is hard for me to pronounce.
HANNA
…
JUWON
Guys I have a plan to make Stewart not to get expelled. We can convince Ms. Shelly to cancel the expulsion.
LISA
How? Are you going to bribe her?
(Juwon smirks.)
LISA
Oh my god. You are going to bribe her.
JUWON
Bingo!
JUSTIN
bribing your teacher is wrong. I usually don't like your dirty play, Kim Juwon.
JUWON
And they save our lives.
HANNA
So, what are you going to bribe her with?
JUWON
Oh, don't worry about it.
KHLOE
He's plotting something evil.
(Juwon meets with Ms. Shelly in the evening.)
SHELLY
What do you need Juwon?
JUWON
I want you to cancel Stew--. This guy's name.
(He shows a picture of Stewart.)
SHELLY
You mean Stewart.
JUWON
Yes.
SHELLY
I can't do that.
JUWON
Why not? Because he got the lowest score.
SHELLY
Yes.
JUWON
I thought teachers were supposed to guide students. Not to expel them. When a student fails an exam, is the teacher's job to guide the student and say it's okay. There is always another chance.
SHELLY
I wished I could say that but the school board…
JUWON
Teachers are the ones given authority by the school board to expel students. The last time. I checked. So, you are going to cancel this guy's expulsion. Or else…
SHELLY
Or else what.
JUWON
I'm going to expose this video of you twerking in a night club. I never thought that you are really good.
(He shows her a video of showcasing her twerking.)
SHELLY
Where the hell did you get that?
JUWON
Oh, don't worry about it. I have my ways.
SHELLY
Black mailing teachers will lead to your sudden expulsion Kim Juwon. Don't test me.
JUWON
Then I'll just upload the video online and who knows, you might lose your job.
SHELLY
…
JUWON
So, what are you going to do, Ms. Shelly?
SHELLY
[This boy is just like his father.] Fine. I'll cancel Stewart's expulsion. But you have to delete that video.
JUWON
Sure. Do it now.
SHELLY
You are playing a dangerous game, Kim Juwon.
JUWON
A dangerous game indeed.
(Ms. Shelly cancels Stewart's expulsion.)
SHELLY
There. Cancelled. Now delete that video.
JUWON
Okay. Deleted. See.
(He showcases to her as he deletes the video.)
SHELLY
Now would you excuse me, I have matters to attend to.
JUWON
Okay.
(Ms. Shelly leaves.)
(Juwon's eyes turn cold.)
JUWON
It is too early for Stewpid to get expelled. Stewpid, no teacher is going to expel you. I am the only one who's going to expel you after I have further use of you. You have shown me that you are an idiot. It is time for the other classes to see how idiotic you are.
(Cut to Stewart celebrating with the boys of Class D. After they convinced him that Juwon will persuade Ms. Shelly to cancel his expulsion.)
JUWON
And I will use those classes to have you expelled. Mwahahahahahahaha!
(Hanna bonks his head with a book.)
JUWON
Ouch!
HANNA
Quit acting like an idiot and did you convince Ms. Shelly to cancel Stewart's expulsion.
JUWON
Yeah, I did.
The midterm exams are finally over. And now no one from Class D is expelled. Will they be ready for the next phase?
[To be continued]
