Spring of Year 27
The sun rose over Konoha, casting a golden light across the rooftops and bathing the village in warmth. Cherry blossom drifted through the air, carried by a gentle breeze. The streets were alive with celebration as banners fluttered, children laughed, and villagers gathered in the central square; their eyes fixed on the Hokage Monument.
At the top of the Hokage building, Senju Tobirama, clad in ceremonial white robe of the Hokage, stepped forward. His expression was calm, but his eyes held the weight of a thousand thoughts.
Beside him stood Senju Hashirama, smiling proudly as he held the Hokage hat in his hands.
With a solemn nod, Hashirama placed the hat into Tobirama's hands.
Tobirama accepted it.
And placed it on his head.
The crowd erupted.
WAAAAA!!!!! NIDAIMESAMA! Long Live Hokage!
Tobirama raised a hand, silencing the cheers.
Then he spoke.
"As I receive this responsibility from the Shodaime Hokage, I promise to protect this village with my life."
He paused, letting the word settle.
"This village was born from bloodshed. From clans that once tore each other apart. But through vision, through sacrifice, and through unity, we built something greater than ourselves."
He glanced at Hashirama.
"At the heart of Konoha is a dream. A dream that children can grow without a fear. That shinobi can fight not for conquest, but for peace. That clans can stand side by side; not as rivals, but as family."
He turned back to the crowd.
"I am not my brother. I do not possess his charisma, nor his strength. But I carry his will. And I will ensure that his dream does not die with him, but lives on through every child, every shinobi, and every stone of this village."
The crowd grew quiet.
Moved.
"I will not promise a world without war. But I will promise this: Konoha will never fall while I stand. And I will prepare this village, not just for peace, but for the trials that peace cannot prevent."
He raised his hand again.
"To the future of Konoha. to the children who will inherit our will. And to the unity that binds us all.
The crowd erupted once more.
Tobirama-sama!
Nidaime Hokage!
For Konoha!
As the crowd cheered on, Tobirama stood quietly on the platform.
Hashirama stepped beside him.
"You did well, Tobirama."
Tobirama nodded.
"I'll protect what you built."
Hashirama smiled.
"And I'll be here watching. I trust that you will protect Konoha well."

From a quiet hilltop just beyond the Hokage Monument, Uchiha Shinichi watched the ceremony unfold.
The cheers echoed up the slope, carried by the wind.
He saw Tobirama standing tall in his white robe, the Hokage hat casting a shadow over his eyes. He heard the speech.
{I will not promise a world without war. But I will promise this: Konoha will never fall while I stand.}
Shinichi's eyes narrowed.
'It seems like he's accepted it.'
Shinichi sat cross-legged beneath a tree, Kaito asleep beside him, curled up in a blanket.
The boy's peaceful breathing contrasted sharply with the storm in Shinichi's thoughts.
'Tobirama will protect the village. But protection isn't enough. If the cycle continues… if the curse persists.. then even his strength will fail.'
He looked down at Kaito.
'I must go further. Not just to protect, but to break the pattern. To sever the strings.'
The wind rustled the leaves.
Shinichi closed his eyes.
And made a silent vow.
'I will not let this world decide our fate. I will decide it myself.'

After the ceremony ended and crowd dispersed, Tobirama returned to the office and faced Hashirama.
"Brother.. now you should rest. I'll take care of the village. Save your strength. Konoha still needs you."
Hashirama chuckled. "Hmm. Okay, Tobirama. I'll use this time to play with Tsuna for a bit."
"…I'm not sure that's a good idead."
"Hahaha! Don't worry. With me around, nothing will happen to Tsuna!"
"It's you I'm worried about, Anija. You'll be a bad influence on her."
Tobirama summoned his chakra, ensuring no one was nearby.
Then he spoke.
"Brother... your health's decline. It's not the first time this has happened in our clan."
"??!!"
Tobirama explained the pattern.
The deaths of Senju clan heads who had awakened Mokuton or Senjutsu.
Each one dying shortly after defeating a rival Uchiha.
Hashirama grew quiet.
Then spoke with quiet conviction.
"Tobirama… at that time – and between Madara and me… – Senju and Uchiha were enemies. But now, we're all family. This cycle, this fate; we've already overcome it. The future generation will be fine."
Tobirama clenched his fists.
"I'm not talking about the future! What about you?! What about me? And Minto-nee? You're still so young… This isn't fair..."
Hashirama laughed gently.
"it's been a long time since I saw you so flustered."
"Brother! I'm serious!"
Hashirama gently placed a hand on Tobirama's shoulder.
"Everyone dies someday. My death is inevitable. I can feel it. But Konoha's future… I can't predict it. I can only entrust it to the next generation."
He tapped Tobirama's chest.
"as long as my dream and will are passed down… I'll still be here. In here."
Tobirama stared at his brother's hand.
Then slowly nodded.
"I still don't fully understand it. But your will… I accept it and I'll pass it on."
"Umu! That's good enough for me."
Hashirama grinned.
"Now let's forget about death and go drink together!"
"Anija! I have work to do as Hokage!"
The two brothers bickered, laughed, and walked out of the office together.
And for a moment–
The weight of fate felt lighter.
***
Ceremony had ended and few days passed since then.
Tobirama stood alone in the Hokage office.
He removed the hat and placed it gently on the desk.
Then–
A knock
He turned
Uchiha Kagami stepped inside.
"Tobirama-sama."
Tobirama nodded. "Kagami."
There was a pause.
Then Kagami spoke.
"Congratulations Sensei. I heard your speech. It was…. Honest."
Tobirama raised an eyebrow. "You expected something else?"
"No," Kagami said. "But I know what you're carrying and I know you're carrying it alone."
Tobirama looked away.
"I can't afford to share it."
Kagami stepped closer.
"You don't have to share everything. But you don't have to stand alone either."
Tobirama faced Kagami.
"You trust Shinichi."
"I do."
Tobirama was silent. Then he spoke.
"He's dangerous."
Kagami nodded.
"So was Madara. So is Shodaime-sama. And So are you, Sensei."
Tobirama's lips twitched slightly, forming not quite a smile but close.
Kagami kneeled.
"I'm here. Whatever comes next, I'll stand with you. With the village."
Tobirama nodded slowly.
"Then let's start."
