"Okay, maybe climbing a tree wasn't the best idea," Gray said while rubbing his bottom, "It's been a few hours, and that fucker is still growling at me...Seriously, just fuck off already." He glanced at the sky and noticed the sun dipping in the distance.
"It's getting dark," he muttered while glancing at the system's HUD, looking at the earned gold so far, a whopping 8 gold, "just two more hours for the first upgrade, I can do this!"
While keeping his mind occupied with the system and the hope of maybe someone coming to save him, he kept glancing at the zombie and his system HUD to pass the time. Eventually, two hours passed by, and he finally got to buy his first upgrade.

"Sweet," he said, looking exhausted. "I'm a moron. Maybe I should have kept walking elsewhere, looking for a better place, maybe even getting to kill it elsewhere, but oh well, here we are. Gotta wait out a few more hours for the second upgrade, and then I can probably get a spear or axe and get rid of that zombie,"
Meanwhile, he lay belly down on the branch with his legs dangling to the sides, trying to get some rest and ignoring his hunger and thirst. "Let's just hope it doesn't start raining..."
A few hours later, he sat down on the branch again, glancing at his HUD and looking at that sweet gold, wondering if he should buy something to eat or drink, but dismissed the idea. "Yeah, probably not a good idea to waste gold this early. I can handle the thirst and hunger for a bit more. I'd rather get those upgrades sooner."
Gray started looking through the store in hopes of finding a cheap weapon now that the second upgrade was a few hours away, he knew he was gonna need a weapon with a bit of range because there was no way he was gonna get close to that thing, no he needed to stand on that branch he used to climb the tree and get the zombie from there maybe the spear was the best option.
{Metal-Tipped Spear} (180 Gold)
"Hmm, kinda too expensive for my broke ass at the moment, let me keep looking," Gray muttered while rubbing his arms since it was getting colder.
{Fire Axe} (200 Gold)
"That's more expensive than the spear? I guess it is heavier and it's more useful, it could help me open containers or even doors, maybe even get some wood, yeah, let's keep looking."
"Maybe it doesn't even need to be metal or too sturdy, I could try to give my wooden branch a bit of an edge and try, but it's too short, and it's probably best I don't risk it, don't wanna fall and get bit on my first day here." Gray kept muttering to himself about different kinds of weapons until he finally arrived at an answer.
"Wait, now I remember I looked at that YouTube video about some kind of torture some people used to do with bamboo, yeah, it used to pierce people from the back, maybe it has something like that."
{Bamboo Spear} (20 Gold)
"Perfect," Gray looked at his 12 gold and decided he was getting the second upgrade and then buy the bamboo spear, even if it didn't work and broke, he would only waste an extra two or three hours on the tree, but if it did work, then he would finally be free from his own tree climbing adventure.
Six hours later, Gray looked at his newly upgraded hourly rate and grinned from ear to ear, even though he was exhausted from not having slept or eaten anything; he was excited for the next three hours, since his plan was about to unfold.

He glanced up and saw the first rays of sunshine rising on the horizon. "A new day and hopefully my last one on top of a tree..."
"Alright, so I'm guessing any item I buy would spawn on my hands, at least that's what I hope happens." Gray looked at his system, and his eyes landed on the 16 Gold he had available. It's been around 40 minutes since he last got 8 gold.
"Time to start making my way down, and hopefully I won't fall...Did I just jinx myself? nah no way," Gray said enthusiastically while looking down and having a firm footing before going down the tree to have his showdown with the zombie, who was still looking up at him and growling.
He kept glancing at the HUD and zombie for a few minutes before he finally saw his gold count reach 24, and he immediately went for the "Bamboo spear".
{Bamboo Spear} (20 Gold)Error: not enough inventory space
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!" Gray said, annoyingly, as he took out the "Wooden Branch" from his inventory and threw it at the zombie for good measure. "There! finally!" He took out the bamboo spear from his inventory and looked at it for a bit.
"Hmm, not bad, a good size to it, at least 5 feet long, and the tip looks sharp enough. Let's hope it pierces the head... The question now is: how do I do this? Do I sit on this branch with my feet up and just push the spear down and hope for the best? fuck it, we ball."
"Welp, here goes nothing!" Gray sat down on the branch and aimed the spear at the zombie's eye since it was looking up at him. "Maybe if it goes through the eye into the brain, it could kill it without breaking the spear..." He pushed the spear with all the strength he could muster at the time. The spear went through the left eye and out the side of the head with a sick crunch.
"Ugh, that's gross, there is nothing in my stomach otherwise I feel it would be on the ground, good thing the skull and bones are rotting, otherwise I fear my spear would have snapped in half." He took another shove at it, and this time it went through the other eye and into the brain.
"FINALLY!" Gray shouted unconsciously without a care because he was finally free to stretch his legs and maybe finally find something better than a big tree.
"Now let me just get down from here carefully, I don't wanna sprain or maybe even break something on my way down...easy does it."
"Phew finally down from the tree and free from this asshole" Gray said while kicking the dead zombie, he glanced at his bamboo spear and saw that it was full of blood and chipped at the end, he decided to try and sell it back to the system which failed, he could put it in his inventory which he decided to do for the moment just in case he found another zombie.
"Okay, I got 4 gold left. I'm hungry, thirsty, and tired, so I think I deserve at least some bread and water before I continue on this journey.
{Water Bottle} (1 Gold)
{Sweet Bread} (1 Gold)
"There we go, now we can go on. Thank you for everything, tree! You saved my life, but now I must go! Hopefully, see you never!"Gray said while munching on his piece of bread and drinking a few gulps of water before walking towards the east, where the sun was rising.
