Chapter 161 - Chapter 161: Reconciliation with Arasaka?

"Hahaha! This power! Finally!"

Feeling the changes within his body, Saburo Arasaka's long-suppressed Karate erupted forth, as if the shackles binding him had shattered—it felt even better than sex!

Of course, the most crucial part was the infinite lifespan of a True Ninja: immortality, the ultimate pursuit of all those in power, now firmly in his grasp.

"Ding!" Lucy was still gauging Saburo Arasaka's strength. Years of accumulation, bolstered by technology and wealth, had elevated his Karate to roughly elite jōnin level. At that moment, she suddenly received a transfer notification from him.

Five hundred million eurodollars had appeared in her account. Even after becoming a ninja, the sight of that sum still sent a thrill through her heart.

"I, Saburo Arasaka, keep my word. From now on, you and David are honored guests of Arasaka Corporation."

It wasn't flattery, but genuine elation. An astute capitalist knew how to win over different people—treating someone like Lucy required sincerity.

Whether that sincerity was real or not was another matter; at least, he had made his stance clear.

"Now that that's settled, can you let me out?"

Lucy didn't dwell on it. Though the process had been tumultuous, the outcome was positive: neither she nor David had come to harm, and Saburo Arasaka had achieved his goal.

That meant there was no deep-seated grudge between them anymore. She had no intention of taking on Arasaka Corporation single-handedly, so reconciliation was the only path.

More importantly, as a ninja who had been possessed by Death Ninja and undergone the Flower Viewing Ritual, Arasaka Ninja automatically belonged to the Death Ninja faction.

This soul-deep connection naturally fostered goodwill toward Lucy.

"Soukaiya is scheming to rule all of New Kiotto. Going out now would likely get you attacked."

"You're a major celebrity in the city now. They'd notice you and discover the Death Ninja Ninja Soul within you..."

Saburo Arasaka trailed off. They were all smart; the implications were clear.

The usual playbook: invitations, assassinations, or subjugation.

"So I should stay here a bit longer?"

"Best not to wander until Soukaiya is dealt with. Tell me if you need anything."

Lucy watched the heavy door seal shut again, transforming the cage into a safehouse. She understood the immense impact of Death Ninja's presence.

The power gap between ninjas was vast. Inheriting even a portion of a Mythic-grade ninja's strength would allow her to take on half a ninja organization single-handedly; few would survive her.

Lucy had no interest in the so-called ninja war. With Saburo Arasaka now in her faction, she had no plans to assist him—staying put was the best choice.

"Now that things are safe... time to let David know. Arasaka is no longer an enemy."

In the midst of battle, Ninja Slayer suddenly received a call from Lucy. Hell Kite in the sky sensed a complete shift in his opponent's aura.

Anxious to answer, Ninja Slayer channeled Naraku's power. Black flames ignited around him, half his face twisting into a pale, horrifying visage.

"You're handing your body over to me? Hahaha, how amusing. Are you that desperate for this call, David?"

Naraku seized control without hesitation, his hands blurring as he unleashed a barrage of anti-air fire on Hell Kite—thousands upon thousands, countless in number: Shuriken-jutsu Metal Torrent!

"No... impossible! What is this!?"

Countless shuriken sealed off every escape route, followed by Karate!

Hell Kite, utterly submerged in shuriken, had no power to resist. Naraku delivered a precise strike to the throat, sending his head flying amid a geyser of blood, his final cry echoing—

"Sayonara—"

"Boom!"

As Hell Kite exploded and scattered, David reclaimed control of his body. It wasn't just Naraku yielding voluntarily; David's talent ensured Naraku could scarcely seize dominance against his will.

To David, Lucy was like family to Fujikido—enough to keep him from descending into hatred's abyss.

"Hey, Lucy. It's me, David."

"Good. Stay put over there. I'll come get you when the time is right."

David sounded like his old self again, his tone fully reverting to that of the boy he once was.

From Lucy, he had learned everything: Saburo Arasaka's plan, his objectives, and intel on Soukaiya.

The megacorporations of the Cyberpunk world were unbeatable. Despite all his efforts, the one who ultimately profited was still Saburo Arasaka!

"We were totally used as pawns, David. Aren't you going to take revenge on Saburo Arasaka?"

Naraku began his temptations. Saburo Arasaka was a ninja—if it was a ninja, he'd kill it, regardless.

"Our current enemy is Soukaiya. We'll deal with Saburo Arasaka later."

David wouldn't let him have his way so easily. Naraku's essence was resentment toward ninjas; his possession of David had been forcibly guided by Schwarzer.

Thus, they matched perfectly in power—even surpassing the original Ninja Slayer—but their personalities clashed.

At least, knowing Lucy was alive had dissipated most of his hatred. His cooperation with Naraku now stemmed purely from Soukaiya's ninjas treating mortals like dirt.

Naraku didn't press further. His knowledge of ninjas far exceeded David's; so-called reluctance to kill was just inexperience.

Once David witnessed more of their true nature, Naraku was certain he'd come around. Ninjas? No reason not to kill them.

The night was still young. David hung up, his heart steadier knowing Lucy was safe.

Unfortunately, the city was far from stable. Arasaka Corporation's Cyber Biochemical Ninja · Experimental Model forces clashed relentlessly with Soukaiya ninjas.

Even these clones deliberately steered the battlefields—or rather, targeted ninjas slaughtering civilians.

After all, the entire city was Arasaka property; Soukaiya's destruction meant losses for Arasaka.

Conversely, Soukaiya's killings aimed to overthrow Arasaka's rule—or rather, they simply disregarded mortal lives.

The stench of blood enveloped the city. Beneath it all, a mysterious array absorbed mortal souls, pooling their power.

"Mufoofoo~"

"Whether megacorps or ninjas, they're all mere playthings to me."

"Once I've gathered enough souls, I can establish my millennial kingdom."

The Lord was so smug that he couldn't be bothered to peer into fate anymore—utterly carried away by success.
