Chapter 224 - Chapter 224: The One Who Offered Themself

In that instant, the world seemed to sink into its deepest abyss.

Since the very birth of humanity, no one had ever witnessed a sight like this—never seen creatures so immense, standing between heaven and earth.

"Towering as heaven and earth" was the closest description, yet even that felt far too small, too inadequate to capture what they truly were.

That day, across every corner of the world, people saw gigantic beings emerging from the black holes—beings that strode through the sky and land as they pleased, with nothing capable of stopping them.

And yet not every species that stepped out of the black holes was so enormous.

Some were comparatively small.

They looked bizarre—like kittens or puppies—yet they possessed human intelligence and even spoke human language.

When they emerged from the black holes, they didn't look shocked at all. Clearly, they had come prepared.

When people asked why they had come to this world, they gave only one answer—

"For the League's summons."

The League?

What League?

Humans couldn't get a clear explanation.

What was happening?

They couldn't even communicate effectively with them.

From the moment those beings walked out of the black holes, they simply looked around, calmly surveying their surroundings.

Humans observed them in every possible way, yet no matter how they looked, they could only conclude one thing—

These were strange, strange "people."

Some looked like normal humans, but others were grotesque and unnatural.

There were people with dog heads, and even people who looked like crocodiles.

Most of them were huge—though compared to the gigantic monsters on Paradis Island, they still seemed small.

Until one species emerged in what looked like a loss of control—and the moment it stepped out of the black hole, it began slaughtering everything around it.

It called itself the Darkin Blade—Aatrox.

In its hand was a massive sword, and its body was terrifyingly colossal—large enough to cleave an entire mountain range into shattered fragments.

Faced with a monster that horrifying, humans were helpless, able only to watch as their homes were hacked apart, reduced to ruin.

Fires spread in sheets, igniting across nation after nation.

And then, at last, Lailian finished summoning all of his heroes.

It was only a portion of the League of Legends' champions—but even that portion was enough to make the Titan world choke on blood.

"So the 'Summoner' identity wasn't for nothing," Lailian thought.

With a single command, he had all the champions attack everything around them.

As if it had been written into their memories since birth, they tore down buildings on sight and slaughtered humans on sight, without the slightest notion of good or evil. They were less like people and more like tools being used—devoid of thought, devoid of wisdom.

The League of Legends legion launched a full-scale invasion of the Titan world.

Roger, in Titan form, flew in the sky and watched the scene before him, thoughts crashing through his mind.

He knew these things likely came from other worlds. They didn't truly belong to that man's domain—they were simply being controlled by him for the moment.

If their sanity could be restored, maybe they would retreat—maybe they would return through the black holes the way they came.

Thinking that, Roger decided to seize the leader first.

He had to drag out the one who was summoning all of this and kill him—otherwise, the Titan world would become hell on earth, utterly destroyed by these massive monsters and these bizarre species.

Roger had the ability to destroy this world completely, yet he had never been willing to do it—not even now—because his aim was to civilize humanity, to make them understand that oppression and humiliation were not the road to peace, and that only mutual respect was the true way to survive.

Now, before he had even finished teaching that truth, these strange invaders appeared out of nowhere, trying to erase everything into nothingness.

Roger would be the first to refuse that.

But he also had no choice—if he tried to fight each giant creature one by one, he would have no time left to hunt down that man.

In that case… he had to activate the Titan legion.

With that decision, Roger pushed the transmission rate of the Paths tree to its absolute limit, granting Titan power to every Eldian. The moment they wished it, they could transform and counterattack.

At this very moment, every Eldian—hearing the call of their leader—burned with excitement and answered the summons, leaping into Titan form.

And in that moment, Roger issued his Rumbling proclamation.

"To all Eldian people:

"Our world has been invaded by unknown extraterrestrial creatures. If you wish to protect your home, then you must stand up and drive them out!

"So use the power I have given you. Follow me—and kill them!

"Otherwise, you will once again become livestock and slaves, treated with cruelty beyond reason!

"Remember: you are neither livestock nor slaves. You are my proudest people, my soldiers!

"Come with me. Let us march toward the myriad worlds. We will make every unknown power look upon us with awe, daring not to whisper behind our backs.

"We will become the overlords of the myriad worlds—masters of everything!"

When he finished, the Rumbling began, and every Eldian transformed into a Titan.

Because they were receiving the highest grade of Titan power, not a single transformation produced a malformed Titan. Every one of them became the strongest, most destructive Colossal Titan.

With slow, heavy steps, they advanced—meeting those gigantic creatures in battle.

But because their movements were sluggish, they were struck hard.

Those huge creatures moved even faster than they did—faster by several degrees.

Seeing this, Roger frowned in confusion.

It didn't take long before Kaneki Ken answered his question.

[Titan power is only making them huge because the Titan Paths are transmitting at maximum output. It doesn't actually grant any special abilities. Roger—if you want them to move faster, then you must offer the other Titans inside your body as sacrifices. Offer them to the Parasite.]

[Because those are its limbs. Without them, they can't evolve to completion.]

Hearing that, Roger felt utterly speechless.

"You're telling me this now? If you'd said this earlier, I would've split the Titans among them from the very beginning."

[It's not that I didn't want to tell you. I couldn't.]

[Because I knew—your first reaction would be to offer every last bit of power inside you.]

[But what you need to understand is this: those Titans are the Titans sustaining your life. If you offer them up, you won't survive in this world.]

[What awaits you is death.]

[Compared to the entire Titan legion, I still believe you are the more valuable one.]

[So you must think very carefully.]

At those words, Roger hesitated.

"Die…?"

He murmured, staring into the distance.
