In the heart of a small town in Anran, a young man quietly placed the groceries in his bag. He was a regular here. And yet, if anyone were asked to describe him, they might not be able to. Unremarkable and forgettable, the man paid no attention to the young couples and old ladies around him and added yet another bag of chips into his basket.
He had been warned by the doctor to cut down on junk, after all, he was already bordering on obese, but he couldn't do it. Or rather didn't want to do it.
Just as he debated between adding a healthy juice or a can of soda, he heard the name, "Elliott Ross?"
He stiffened for a moment and then whipped around. A woman's voice drifted from the next aisle over, followed by the faint squeak of a shopping cart. His hands trembled for a moment as he looked around, searching for an escape. Even though the name was not directed at him, he hurried down his own aisle.
