Chapter 51 - Drinking

Liam, holding Celia's hand, sat down on a stool.

With a slight wave of his hand, several rows of wine jars materialized on the table.

He looked up at Lego.

"Mr. Lego, this is human liquor I've refined."

"Human liquor?"

Lego raised an eyebrow, reached out to touch the jar's fine porcelain surface, and genuinely seemed interested.

"What a coincidence. After centuries, I've long grown tired of elven wine. I'll accept this... Are they all for me?"

"Mm."

A smile spread across Liam's lips. He unscrewed a lid and placed it on the table, his tone leisurely.

"No need for any caution, Mr. Lego. To be honest, this liquor isn't really connected to humans. At most, they just provided the base materials. Nearly all the liquor inside has been refined by me."

"None taken. I won't get hung up on such details. Ultimately, the materials humans use for brewing are still taken from nature."

As he spoke, Lego picked up a ladle from the table, about to dip it in for a taste.

"Dear!"

Cyra's soft voice came from the kitchen, sounding somewhat annoyed.

"You're not going to leave me alone in the kitchen to handle everything, are you?"

"Coming, coming!"

Lego hastily put down the ladle, turned to Liam with a smile, and hurried off to the kitchen.

Liam watched Lego's retreating back with a slight upward curve of his lips.

"Your parents are quite interesting."

Celia, curious, stood on her tiptoes, her small hands gripping the table edge as she leaned close to a wine jar and took a gentle sniff.

Her well-behaved face immediately crumpled into a look of distaste.

"Wah... it smells awful~"

She covered her nose.

It wasn't beer.

The alcohol content was high, and the smell alone was pungent.

Actually... she even found beer bitter.

Having grown up, she had hardly drunk any.

But Mother loved drinking it...

Liam picked up the curious elf girl and settled her on his lap.

Then he took a gentle sip of her moist, full, pink lips and said softly, "Today, Celia will drink with me."

Celia pressed her lips together where he'd just kissed them, lowered her head shyly, and said in a small voice, "But, Husband... I don't know how to drink..."

In her previous life, she had only tasted alcohol a few times, usually opting for soft drinks during gatherings with classmates.

But in this life, it was even more so—

During family meals, she could only watch dryly as her parents cheered, drank, and got rowdy, before Cyra was carried into the room.

Even at twenty years old, Celia was still told she was too young and wasn't allowed to touch alcohol.

"It's fine. I'll teach you."

Liam said slowly by her ear.

..

The sky outside the window had darkened completely, but the scene inside was quite the opposite.

Warm, bright lights illuminated the room, and noisy sounds came from the kitchen.

As time passed, Cyra's petite figure, tied with a clean white apron, made her look even softer and more delicate, the very picture of a cute and virtuous wife.

She brought dish after dish to the table.

While her parents were cooking, Celia remained held in Liam's embrace.

Her father occasionally came out to fetch things. Each time he passed by, he would give her a meaningful, knowing smile, making her extremely embarrassed.

As for her mother... she was already immune.

Once the whole family had finished bustling about, they finally all gathered at the table.

The food on the plates was aromatic and savory, completely different from Cyra's usual 'dark cuisine.'

The table was mostly laden with meat—all bought by Liam from human lands.

Though elves coexisted with nature and never harmed innocent animals.

Just kidding...

Celia stared at the plate of venison on the table, saliva inadvertently leaking from the corner of her mouth.

Her moist pupils sparkled like stars.
